Originally the end product of seventeen years of hard work from the Hellfire Legion's greatest minds, the Prosecutor-class Very Heavy Fighter represents a seamless blend of Libertonian, Borderworlds, and in-house Lane Hacker technology. Based off a heavily modified Series Z fighter chassis, the Prosecutor augments this classic design with thicker armour, a more robust powercore, and a slight increase in combat manoeuvrability; however, this comes at the cost of the Sabre's iconic seven-gun configuration and a reduction in its aerodynamic profile.
After the Insurgency's defeat in 830 A.S., the many remaining Prosecutor-class fighters made their way into Liberty's criminal underbelly in short order, finding new homes and new pilots among the unlawful elements that plague the House's trade lanes and asteroid fields. Further tinkering and experimentation by a myriad of different organisations has left each Prosecutor unique in its own way, and it is considered rare by those experienced with the craft to find two that fly in precisely the same manner. While it may lack the finesse of more specialised and streamlined designs, the Prosecutor remains a deadly opponent to anyone foolish enough to mistake its ramshackle design for a lack of combat capability.
