        Areas of Interest

        Nebulae

        Schwefelnebel

A large sulfur cloud containing lava asteroids. In the past diamonds could often be found floating freely within the cloud and were collected by Kruger Minerals, who operated from nearby Bautzen Station. However, due to decreasing yields as time went on and an overwhelming increase in pirate activity, Kruger eventually had no choice but to abandon the system.

        Giftnebel

        >>>WARNING: SEVERE DANGER<<<

The cloud is a swirling mass of sulfuric acid and hydrogen sulfide that will corrode the Hull Panels of even an armored, shielded ship in a relatively short amount of time. Because of its toxic nature and intense Hessian presence, the cloud was never fully explored. Rheinland has long suspected the Red Hessians' headquarters is located within the cloud, launching an attack to locate it in 832 AS.

        Innenstadtfeld

A field of Copper and Cobalt bearing asteroids. Daumann Heavy Construction used to heavily mine the resources present from their base on Leipzig Station. In its prime, this field produced the bulk of Copper and Cobalt in the Sirius Sector for centuries -- making it an irresistible target for Red Hessian pirates. By 818 AS, most economically viable deposits had been exhausted, leading Daumann to abandon Leipzig Station. Since then, Hessians have prospected the field to wring out the last remaining resources for their own use. These operations have been heavily disrupted by Rheinland Military and Corsair attacks since 832 AS.

        Asteroid Fields

        Dresden Minefield

When it became clear that defending the dwindling resources of Dresden was financially unfeasible, Daumann and Kruger decided to pull out of the system. Dresden was all but lost to the ever-increasing pirate presence in the system. In an attempt to curb this pirate problem before it reached New Berlin a minefield was placed around the Jump Gate by the Rheinland Military. A military presence is stationed near the minefield around the clock to dissuade any ambitious criminals like the Red Hessians or Bundschuh from trying to push through.

        Mines

        Mines

        Helleraufeld

A field of lava asteroids. Unfortunately, the field is too close to the sun and consequently too molten for mining. Bautzen Station once sat at the edge of the field, until its destruction at the hands of the Rheinland Military in 832 AS.

        Loschwitzfeld

A small field of lava asteroids that is heavily frequented by Red Hessians. Since the destruction of Leipzig Station, the field has mainly been used as a waypoint for smugglers.

        Feuerberg

A remote lava field in the southeast part of the system, believed to have drifted into the system from the nearby Walker Nebula. Little is known about the field's contents, as the conflict in Dresden over recent years has prevented surveys.

        Heissfeld

A small field of lava asteroids in the south of Dresden. Since the destruction of Leipzig Station, the field has mainly been used as a waypoint for smugglers. Hessians have been reported in the area.

        Giftnebel Debris Field

This debris field was created as a result of Rheinland’s invasion of Dresden in 832 AS. The Rheinland Military 4th Strike Flotilla carried out a reconnaissance-in-force of the Giftnebel to locate the Red Hessians’ headquarters and draw reinforcements away from the Battleship Strausberg’s attack to the south. The Flotilla was forced to turn back after suffering heavy casualties, leaving the Hessians badly bloodied in the process.

        Strausberg-Kassel Debris Field

A vast stream of debris stretching from Leipzig to Pirna Border Station, the Strausberg-Kassel Debris Field is named for its principle architects. The southern push by the Rheinland Military led to near total collapse of any economic infrastructure left in Dresden, denying the Hessians easy access to Dresden's remaining resources.

        Bautzen Debris Field

This debris field was created as a result of Rheinland’s invasion of Dresden in 832 AS. The Battleship Strausberg attacked Bautzen without warning, butchering the Bundschuh crew. Broken ships and mangled station components now drift across this junction.

        Wrecks

        Danzig - C-2/1

Scanning reveals older Rheinland Freighter model. The most likely candidate is the Danzig, a Kruger minerals ship lost in 450. It may be carrying Diamonds.

        Contains:

        Rheinland Fighter - C-2

This Rheinland fighter was a member of the 4th Strike Flotilla. This force carried out a reconnaissance in force of the Giftnebel in an attempt to locate the Red Hessians' headquarters. After suffering heavy casualties, the flotilla was forced to retreat.

        Contains:

        Greifvogel - C-2

This fighter belonged to the Rheinland Military commander and ace, Lara Wefel. Wefel is currently listed as missing in action, after she led the 4th Strike Flotilla on an assault into the Giftnebel in 832 AS. Wefel’s squadrons successfully crippled the infamous Hessian Fichtel Brigade before being forced to retreat. The Greifvogel was last seen fighting in the flotilla rearguard. Due to the Giftnebel’s corrosive conditions, escape pods are rarely successfully recovered.

        Contains:
