The Rules Wrote:1.1 Use of abusive, vulgar, obscene, political, or racist materials
Comments: You know very well that the kind of language you used in the "So what is new" thread is not allowed on this forum. We decided you may contemplate on that for the following 48 hours.
If you post in this sanction and are not directly involved or a leader of the accused person's faction be advised that you are consenting to be subjected to the reprisal of my choice which may involve in game repercussions up to a ban. Blaming members of your immediate family, neighbours, friends, pets, and assorted Orcs, Trolls and any other legendary creatures may result in the use of Admin Right #CTE 750AE
Let me just say that this ban was really silly, unnecessary and really not one of the best starts I could expect from a brand new member of the Moderator Team. Let me explain why.
Those three letters I typed in that thread were sarcastic, and while it is understandable that sarcasm doesn't go through text as well as it goes through in live speech via verbal and non-verbal communication channels, I still don't think it is that hard to spot unless you don't even spend 2 seconds on examining the full context in which those three letters happened. I don't think anyone would even get offended from me saying that, I can't remember the OP getting mad at me either, punishing me for it is just stupid. Are we really in kindergarten, where I get the hat of shame if I say to my mates "You're a poo poo head!"? It's known that most of the community is full of teenagers and young adults/adults, and those age groups know very well what sarcasm/satire is and that the context I've typed in that thread is clearly sarcasm and was not meant to directly offend anyone. The majority of this community is mature enough to understand such concepts, but it is apparently not a requirement of Moderator Team membership.
And even then, 48 hours just for that? A warning/deletion of post would suffice, heck, even 24 hours, but 48 hours for a single word? Absolutely unnecessary overreaction. Or if it wasn't only for that, I demand explanation on why I got this excessive amount of punishment.
Furthermore I've been seeing other people using much more vulgar words in a more serious context and I don't see them getting the ban hammer. I'm not sure what's happening around in the Staff team and what may cause these kinds of double standards, but I'd rather not know.
Also, I know you're a new moderator, and I know a couple of moderators that would not do such a thing because they know it wasn't meant to offend anyone. Try to ease up with the ban hammer a bit, learn from the more experienced moderators, try to read a bit more into the context than taking parts out of it and be more understanding
Rightly or wrongly that word or derivations of it normally get a 1 week ban irrespective of context. A situation that has existed for a number of years. You were thus not excessively punished.
I also do not see the point of a personal attack on a moderator when you have been here long enough to know that the decision would have been discussed with more than one person.
First of all, it is very rare that a moderator decides on these things on their own. This one was not such a case. It was decided with several moderators' input, including the experienced ones.
Secondly, the language is not acceptable, and you turned an acceptable topic into a flood one with a post like that. Also, make no mistake, everyone got their fair share of warnings, including the thread owner.
Yours was a bit harsher, because yours was the worst comment we've seen out of flood and in that thread. Usually we just delete the comments and make note of the poster somewhere you can not see.

For the time being, exactly that. If you make your case about it properly, and want to have the rules changed, with a good reasoning that requires consideration, that might change later on and you could start to use the 'adult' words all over the forum happily.
There's a reason why flood threads exist, and why we try to keep comments like yours in there only. If you are not able to make the math in your head, please ask and I'll detail you the reasons behind it in another post if I feel like it.
Also, this is not excessive. For the word you used, the standard is a week of vacation. There are no exceptions sadly, even for that context or sarcasm you're referring to, so make note of that for the next time you decide to be that way.
