The Maahes was ordered in 815 AS after fears of rising rates of nomad infection in the houses were confirmed. The commission came from the TSF, the covert, overwatchers of The Order. They wanted a vessel that could penetrate deep into house territory and deliver real-time analysis on infection and the stability of each house's government due to the rising nomad population. They also wanted a ship that could watch over The Order themselves to ensure the integrity of the organisation. Needless to say, that is exactly what they got.
Little else is known about The Hedge or how it operates.
Crew: Maahes-1OX.
Commodore Sophia Anderson:
The not so well known commanding officer of the Maahes. Despite the lack of knowledge of her existence, she has managed a feat which very few commanding officers have managed; never leaving anyone behind whilst managing to stay well within her command mandates. It is this feat that earned her the respect of those she commands whilst making sure her military career in The Order is healthy.
A Toledan by birth, she was born into The Order, her father being a Bretonian Armed Forces officer that spied for The Order in Bretonia to report the level of infection in the house as well as the integrity of the command structure and military resources. He later retired to Toledo and died there as an informant who could not be returned to normal life because of the information he was privy to. Little is known of her mother, except that her mother was also Bretonian and that she fled from Bretonia after her husbands apparent defection.
Anderson completed her Wing Commander Officer's Training at the age of fourteen, making her the youngest person to complete all Fighter Combat Training. She completed all Officer Command Training by the age of 19. She was then recommended for Diplomatic Training, however she declined this, instead deciding to specialise in Combat Training, later completing Special Operation Training.
Commander Elias James Turner:
The formerly ranked Lieutenant Commander was specifically chosen for this command by Commodore Anderson. He is a typical officer of The Order. He spends most of his on-duty time on the bridge and is relieved of helmsman duties by Lieutenant Alexander Zane.
He completed all Fighter Combat Training at the age of 18 and then went on to complete Navigation and Helmsman Training, Science Officer Training, Command Training and currently holds several records in The Orders training facilities for his time in Weapons and Gunnery Training.
He specialized in Combat Training and Special Operations Training after recommendations from his commanding officer at the time.
Tactical Advisor Elizabeth Boehme:
Her file is highly classified and only Commodore Anderson knows much about her. She is listed as an informant and as an alternative strategist. In terms of rank she is a non-commissioned officer. Unusually, she has access to all areas of the ship. Most of her time onboard is spent in The Bubble, tending to the Neper Ultra-Processor that resides within.
She has specialised in Research and Development and holds several degrees in strategic combat planning. She has also spent time specialising in Diplomatic Training, however she has not completed the course. She has full authority over all activities concerning the Neper.
Communications Hacking Specialist Arata Takuma:
Formerly a Kusari civilian jailed for several computer crimes involving cracking the rumoured LX3-DS, Samuras Secondary Framework computer for prototype designs. He was sentenced to lengthy term in Fuchu prison. Six months later he was free. Several security officers that staffed the prison were ordered to undergo routine psychiatric evaluations afterward; they all reported a similar event, that Takuma had support from an invisible ship in his escape.
Two years later he was working on one of the ships he had helped construct. He underwent Communications System Training, however this was just a formality and he passed with no errors. He then specialised in Research and Development.
Head Engineer Wilhelm Von Ormstein:
A Rheinlander by birth, he was formerly an engineer for Daumann. Whilst not a miner for the company, he did empathise with the pitiful working conditions provided to the miners as well as the meager pay packet. However, he continued his job faithfully as he too needed the money, until the Nomad Wars began to break out, fleeing Rheinland for the safety of Bretonia.
He fell one system short of his goal, settling on Freeport 1 in Omega 3, where he functioned as a mechanic for the trading vessels that frequented the Freeport. Zoner Freeports being a haven for most and with what happening within ten kilometers of the station coming under Zoner jurisdiction, agents of The Order, who happen to be one of the few allies the Zoners have, are welcomed onto the base. The Order was always on the lookout for those who were skilled in specific areas, and Von Ormstein was skilled in one of those specific areas, that is, able to fix anything that could go wrong in any situation.
A few years later he was aboard the Hedge, working under Commodore Sophia Anderson.
Professor Eran Cyrus:
The Hedges medical officer. Very little is known of him except he specialised in Research and Development and has in-depth knowledge of nanotechnology in regards to human health. He also deals with any nomad material that needs to be examined on board.
BT3-E234:
A non-personality programmed, humanoid artificial intelligence robot responsible for navigation duties. It is rumoured to be the robot Andersons father brought with him from Bretonia.
Ensign Andraste Fionnlagh:
Whilst officially listed as an ensign assigned to security detail onboard, this would be the Maahes' deep cover assassination agent.
