The L-584 Luxury Liner Halcyon Epiphany was originally built as an ambitious move by the rather small Passenger Company SiriusLink, to raise revenue. Unfortunately the company went bankrupt just after it was completed, and it was impounded by the Liberty Navy after the CEO attempted to flee into the Independent Systems with it. Holding it for three years, the Navy decided it was just taking up valuable space in dry dock, and put it up for auction.
Corlan Dell, the founder and CEO of Aeon Enterprises saw the auction and jumped on it, knowing this would be the only chance the company had could afford such a such a vessel, and placed quite a low bid.
To his surprise, no one else bid on the Luxury Liner, and Dell picked it up for a song. It spent a year being slowly refitted to meet Dells expectations, having to wait for more spare funds each time. When it was finally ready, Corlan issued his son, Tyber the task of captaining it on its maiden voyage.
Unfortunately, even before The Halcyon Epiphany began its final launch checks rumors began to circulate. Rumors which stated that Aeon Enterprises was itself going broke, and that an Orbital Spa & Cruise subsidiary was purchasing the ship.
It seemed the cheery name held beneath it a curse.
