Just let pirates to pirate near the holes freely, so BAF patrols the lanes - you want safety? Then you go this way. You want to get to the point faster? Then do not cry for being robbed by Molly\Corsairs\Gaians in process near some hole that is not patrolled by Military\Police.
Now BAF ganks all pirates near the hole (where BAF should not be present in the first place) with solaris battleships so it is safe and short in the same time.

This is so true.
I've seen BAF escorting through or securing jumpholes on many occasions. No wonder it's preferred way of travel for most people.
