Born on Planet Cambridge, Carmen was the kind of girl that always had what she wanted. Her parents, Mia (originally Navarro, before she got married) and Pedro, were both ex-Corsair pilots (Hispanian origin). So how did they end up in the middle of Cambridge? Pretty much simple: They were one of those Corsair pilots which were doing the smuggling jobs. Yes, smuggling Artifacts.
Where? To various places around Sirius. Was it a dangerous job? It certainly was. But they made huge money by doing it. Main reason why they became Freelancers is because once they got encountered by the GMG patrol in Sigmas who almost killed them. After that "incident" they decided that they will never fly a ship again, left their homeworld, and decided to find a peacefull place to live. So they changed their original names (which they never told to Carmen), moved to Cambridge, and started living a normal, "planet" life. Their only child was Carmen. Carmen was always fascinated about space, ever since she was 5. She dreamed that one day she will become a pilot, which her parents didn't approove. Having tons of cash, they could afford her anything, so she had a great childhood. Getting educated in top high school and faculty in Cambridge, known as "Space-educational complex "Universe"", her dream came true. She became a pilot. This picture was taken on Planet Cambridge, while she was 22. As her mother and father barely let her go, they told her that they have only 1 wish: that she will become a Freelancer and not related to any other faction. Why? Because they didn't want her to get into any kind of trouble.
So she listened, bought one of those Rocs, and started making money by doing escorts around Sirius. But even Freelancers get attacked nowdays. She got attacked by Outcasts while escorting a transport through Taus. She realised that living in Independent Worlds and Edge Worlds is very dangerous, and moved to Liberty. Her new "home" became Planet Los Angeles in California, where she lives today. But she is rarely at home, as she often travels around Sirius. She visits her parents from time to time. Also, she learned some useful skills in the meantime and became a Mercenary.
