COMM ID:Commander Jane Hartman TARGET ID: Vice Admiral Rohj Teerin, Logistics Command [CC: Admiral Alan Polstari, Quartermaster] SUBJECT:Ensign Lambert ENCRYPTION:Low PRIORITY:Moderate
Good Afternoon Sir,
I’ve been reviewing the Command Rosters for the Logistics Corps over the past few days and I’ve come across a concerning posting. Namely, Ensign Lambert’s assignment as the Executive Officer of Mesa Verde. Ensign Lambert's known cardamine habit being the root of the problem.
I understand that the Marines are keen to get their hands on Verde, but for now she’s still one of our ships, so the way I see it, Sir, it’s our problem. Seeing as it’s an issue concerning our personnel I’d prefer to pay it the respect it’s due and discuss it with you in person. It's not an urgent issue from an operations standpoint, but it is one I would like to get straightened out as soon as possible.
If that’s acceptable, I look forward to meeting with you.
Regards,
Jane Hartman
Commander
Logistics Corps Head
Primary Fleet

Afternoon, Hartman.
I do not think that seizing the Mesa Verde is necessary by any means, Commander. We have recently been updated by Draper on the Ensign's condition, and he is showing some signs of improvement. However, I do not believe Lambert's situation should determine the fate of that ship.
Keep in mind that the aforementioned vessel's CO is Lieutenant Falkland, and I think it not very appropriate, nor would I be rather keen, to strip the craft from a fine officer such as him. Nevertheless, if you deem it important, we can remove Lambert from his position of XO for an indefinite period of time.
I would indeed be interested in speaking face to face with you about this so that it can be sorted out. Furthermore, we may need to have a word with Falkland as well in regards to our decision. I'll be at Norfolk late this evening - seems that there is a bit of paperwork they need for me to handle over there. I will be glad if you could give me some reason to take a break from that.
Sincerely,
Vice Admiral Teerin,
Logistics Corps Head,
Liberty Navy Primary Fleet.

"You see what your knowledge tells you you're seeing. ... how, what you think the universe is, and how you react to that in everything you do, depends on what you know. And when that knowledge changes, for you, the universe changes. And that is as true for the whole of society as that is for the individual. We all are what we know, today. What we knew yesterday, was different; and so were we."
