(Some back story to how the Gunboats came to be'¦)
'Hmm, my grandfather's will says that I should take out his fighter and go to one of the coded coordinates to see what he left me. Can't be worth anything more than fuel and O2 and possibly my time. But I do remember him complaining about the coolant temp on his last flight being a little too high for comfort. Even for him, that's saying something. Probably should have a look at it first before I go out and have a problem in space that I would regret. Well, time to check out his fighter.'
Sometime later, and lots of work, parts, and cursing'¦.
'Now I understand why he always enjoyed flying his Kingfisher to and from the fields. So maneuverable and fast to react.
Now that I'm at the Tau 23 coded coordinates, let's see what he left me. And if it's even worth coming out here.'
Punches in the password and waits to see what happens'¦
'I hope no one is looking f-'
Suddenly the asteroid ahead of him opened up and an opening just big enough for him to maneuver in and out off
'Hmm. This just might be worth it after all.'
He maneuvers his grandfather's ship inside the asteroid and zips up is zero G suit wondering why there were specific instructions to do so.
'Now that the doors are closed, time to see what all the fuss is all about'
He depressurizes the cockpit and ventures out. There is a tunnel large enough for him, and hand rungs imbedded into the sides of the tunnel. He ventures along the tunnel until he is suddenly stopped by something black and red. It was big. He sticks his head out of the tunnel and has a look around.
'It's a frigging Hydra Gunboat! Now I know why he always had a smile when he returned from his trips!'
Has a look over the gunboat wondering how old it is, and possibly if there is something wrong with it. He ventures in the gunboats cockpit to see that there was nothing old about it. The consoles gleamed like new and that there were still the tape on the first aid kit keeping its contents sealed.
'Well everything seems intact, for a first. Time to power this baby up and see what she's got.'
He begins by pressurizing the cockpit and starting up the ship. He then checks the nav-com to see what stations and systems have been explored, and what are not. He does a quick radar sweep and sees that no one is still around. He slowly backs the GB out seeing the ship in the sunlight for the first time. He pauses to see the asteroid doors closing ahead of him.
'Now that it's sealed, time to see what this ship can do, and if the weapons are even my liking, or not.'
Sometime later'¦ and after some small asteroids are demolished
'I'm certainly keeping this gift and the one in Omega 7, I'm hoping is the same way, right down to the fact that the first aid kit is still sealed. Now for the names of the ships. He's got them both right now as 'Broke.It'. One with a '?' and another with a '!' at the end. Now to name them. Hmmm'¦.'
Sometime later, and a data pad transmission later'¦
Alright, I've got 2 brand new Hydra Gunboats to add to the roster. There both fueled and ready to go. Just need authorization to begin work. There names are as follows:
'IMG|Broke.Biger.Brother'
&
'IMG|Broke:Biger:Brother'
There are time that I and the group around me mining in certain areas could use a gunboat to defend ourselves from pirates and random stupidity. I hope that it can be processed quickly so that fellow miners' lives can be saved in the field.
God speed to the living and the dead. That is all
*Transmission Terminated*
//OORP: if this is not right, let me know in skype. The faster, the better.
