Feldwebel Adrian Wiesen reporting in,
Today I performed a routine patrol through the regular trade routes, and everything seemed to be as calm as it can get around Rheinland. My patrol started from Leipzig station in Dresden system, moving toward the New Berlin gate through lanes. The unusual quiet in the system hopefully implies that Corsairs and Hessians are ripping each other apart somewhere down in Omegas, outside of our space. After moving to New Berlin, a patrol through lanes from Dresden gate to Brandenburg, and from there to Bonn station, Dortmund Station and finally Planet New Berlin was performed.
Taking the lane to Frankfurt jumpgate, and entering the system, scanners were still showing a full green surrounding. However, midway through the lane to Mainz Storage Facility, scanners picked up a hostile ship, probably snub-class, identified as Bundschuh approximately 8 klicks away from the lane ring. Needless to say, the pilot attempted to flee soon as I dropped out of the lane, but as the hostile vessel was already on cruise any further pursuit would have been pointless because the ship was out of range before cruise engines on my ship were even fully charged.
Further on to the Munich system, the system was - apart from the traffic to Augsburg Orbital Colony - secured and quiet. At which point, after reaching Regensburg I turned my ship around, returning to Frankfurt system, and with no emergency in Sigma-13, I decided to head straight back to Strausberg. However, once near Mannheim I encountered the aforementioned Bundschuh vessel again, and it just turned out to be a rookie with a transponder malfunction. So the pilot was notified of this malfunction and the issue was resolved, after which I reached Strausberg through the quiet lanes and ended my patrol.
