PRE-INCIDENT REPORT
I was cleared from the medbay at 1700 hours on Brandenburg and shown to a Phantom-Class Fighter. After configuring my loadout, at 1720 I launched from the base and began my patrol solo. I then took the trade lane toward the Battleship Strausberg, where I encountered the RNC-Malkwitz. I greeted the Malkwitz, and asked about any relevant events. The comm officer on board informed me that there was a situation where a Red Hessian had captured a Polizei officer, but the officer was safely returned to our custody without further incident.
[05.09.2016 17:22:35] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Guten tag RNC-Malkwitz, anything interesting in Rheinland space today?
[05.09.2016 17:23:03] RNC-Malkwitz: We had a Hessian who took Rheinland Police hostage
[05.09.2016 17:23:15] RNC-Malkwitz: That problem was resolved without casualties
[05.09.2016 17:23:24] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Excellent, that's how I like to hear it
[05.09.2016 17:23:40] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Well don't let me stop you if you have prior business
[05.09.2016 17:23:57] RNC-Malkwitz: I am just on Patrol
[05.09.2016 17:24:02] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Roger that
INCIDENT REPORT - 001
Immediately after I closed communication with RNC-Malkwitz, a vessel undocked from the Battleship Strausberg, and attempted to move toward the trade lane to Bonn Station. I hailed the vessel, and asked it to submit for a cargo scan and destination request, and the pilot complied. The pilot informed me that it was heading to Planet Holstein, which I realize now was suspicious as he was heading toward the Stuttgart system, not Frankfurt. I assume at this point that the Malkwitz had already moved out of the local area, as it did not attempt to assist me in interrogating the pilot. I scanned the ship's cargo, showing only Oxygen Canisters, and informed him that his cargo scan checked out. I then scanned his weapons, and noticed that the ship was armed with multiple Hornviper weapons of Fighter class in both gun and turret mounts. After a quick reference to my handbook, I informed the pilot that those weapons are restricted to government approved vessels in Rheinland space, and asked him to dock with the Battleship to exchange the weapons for legal replacements. The pilot asked for permission to look for a license for the weapons, which I allowed, while I also checked my console for a possible registration. I noticed that there are no individuals that have a license for Rheinland restricted weapons, only corporations, and informed the pilot that I had nothing in my records. The pilot asked for permission to be escorted to Bonn Station to exchange his weapons, which I believed to be acceptable at the time, but on later review I suspected that the Battleship would have the allowed weapons, which I will look into after this report. I also realize that I should have ordered the pilot to dock with the Battleship to unmount the weapons, then fly escorted without weapons to Bonn Station, but did not think of it at the time as I was still concerned for a civilian's safety.
I asked the pilot to proceed through the trade lane as I followed. Before I could dock with the trade lane, the pilot somehow both shot down the trade lane with its weapons and finalized docking procedures at the same time, which I did not believe was possible. I pursued the suspect with cruise engines and informed all system authorities, but the vessel escaped to the Stuttgart system and was not further detected. During the pursuit, I contacted RNC-Karlsruhe, a ship in the system that I had noticed on TLAGS, for assistance in apprehending the suspect, but after I had lost the suspect I was informed of the lack of pursuit capabilities of Karlsruhe compared to a fighter.
One further mistake I realize I made was that I did not check the vessel's ID, nor identification of its class, and I did not take footage with my guncam during the incident, although I believe the ship was of Liberty origin of a Fighter class.
[05.09.2016 17:24:09] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Hailing Karl.Lagerfeld, this is Rheinland Police. Please halt for a cargo scan and submit your destination.
[05.09.2016 17:24:26] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Scan checks out, where are you heading?
[05.09.2016 17:24:31] Karl.Lagerfeld: Ja, mein herr, heading to Planet Holstein.
[05.09.2016 17:24:41] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Hold up a minute...
[05.09.2016 17:25:01] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Do you know that you have restricted weaponry mounted to your vessel?
[05.09.2016 17:25:15] Karl.Lagerfeld: Es is restricted?
[05.09.2016 17:25:47] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Hornvipers are restricted to Rheinland officials only, you'll have to change those out to civilian weapons immediately if you don't want this situation to escalate further
[05.09.2016 17:26:11] Karl.Lagerfeld: Escalate? Mein Herr, are you threatening me?
[05.09.2016 17:26:26] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Negative, but you will be fined and potentially placed under arrest if you do not comply
[05.09.2016 17:26:45] Karl.Lagerfeld: Okay, moment, maybe i can find a license here...
[05.09.2016 17:27:00] Karl.Lagerfeld: *looks on screens*
[05.09.2016 17:27:11] Karl.Lagerfeld: Hmmm....
[05.09.2016 17:27:25] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: I don't see you in our official registry, dock with the battleship and comply immediately
[05.09.2016 17:28:04] Karl.Lagerfeld: I think ze Battleship only offers restricted guns, can you escort me to Bonn?
[05.09.2016 17:28:18] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: That is acceptable, proceed ahead and I will follow
(At this point, the vessel shot the trade lane while also proceeding through it, and I engaged cruise engines to pursue)
[05.09.2016 17:28:59] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Attention Rheinland Authorites! Karl.Lagerfeld is resisting arrest! Crime: illegal weaponry
[05.09.2016 17:29:11] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Heading toward Bonn station
[05.09.2016 17:30:35] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: RNC vessel I am requesting assistance catching a fugitive, last seen on TLAGS sector B5
[05.09.2016 17:31:05] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Heading to Stuttgart... nevermind, I think he got away... verdammt
[05.09.2016 17:31:41] RNC-Karlsruhe: RFP Kadett. I am sorry to inform you, but as of the fact the The Karlsruhe is Rheinland Battleship
[05.09.2016 17:32:00] RNC-Karlsruhe: it is sadly unsuited for chasing already fleeing people that passed her
[05.09.2016 17:32:03] RNC-Karlsruhe: i am sorry
[05.09.2016 17:32:09] RNC-Karlsruhe: maybe we get him next time
[05.09.2016 17:32:20] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Understood
INCIDENT REPORT - 002
After losing the suspect in the previous incident, I proceeded to Planet New Berlin. There I met a ship that I had previously spotted on TLAGS as carrying Artifacts (ID: Schrumpfnudel), which I have not submitted in an official report as I was informed that TLAGS scans are not permissible as evidence of a crime. The Battleship Karlsruhe was in the area, and I informed it of the suspected smuggler's status, upon which I was informed that the Karlsruhe had just recently apprehended the smuggler and fined it apx. 3.000.000 credits as well as destroying the contraband.
At this point I moved to investigate a possible violation of human cargo being moved in a non-Liner vessel in Frankfurt heading toward New Berlin. I met the vessel at the New Berlin side of the jumpgate to Frankfurt, where I asked the suspect to halt engines and submit to a scan. The scan returned that the vessel was now carrying a legal cargo, Fertilizers, and was a Transport vessel, not a Liner, with a Daumann Independant Contract ID. I did not recognize the ship's affiliation tag, but assumed that GDTC is a subsidiary of Daumann. I informed the vessel that the scan checked out, and asked if it needed an escort to its claimed destination, Planet Baden Baden, as I was still suspicious of it due to the TLAGS scan earlier. The vessel declined to be escorted, and I allowed the vessel to proceed as I no longer had reason to detain it.
[05.09.2016 17:53:17] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: RNC-Karlsruhe, be advised Schrumpfnudel is a known Artifact smuggler
[05.09.2016 17:53:53] RNC-Karlsruhe: Thank you for the advice Kadett
[05.09.2016 17:54:07] RNC-Karlsruhe: But we already found him guilty of Artifact smuggling
[05.09.2016 17:54:23] RNC-Karlsruhe: and fined him aprox 3 Million credits and destroyed the Contraband
(At this point, I arrived at the Frankfurt jump gate to wait for the incoming transport)
[05.09.2016 17:54:23] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Hailing GDTC-"Camelot", this is Rheinland Police. Please halt for a cargo scan and submit your destination.
[05.09.2016 17:54:57] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Your scan checks out. May I ask your destination?
[05.09.2016 17:55:00] GDTC-"Camelot": Destination Planet Baden Baden
[05.09.2016 17:55:15] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Copy that, do you require an escort?
[05.09.2016 17:55:26] GDTC-"Camelot": Thank you but I'll manage
[05.09.2016 17:55:35] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Thank you for cooperating, you may proceed
[05.09.2016 17:55:38] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Stay safe
[05.09.2016 17:55:45] GDTC-"Camelot": I'll do my best
INCIDENT REPORT - 003
A few minutes later, TLAGS picked up a VWA vessel in the Hamburg system, on an apparent course toward New Berlin. I moved to intercept, and located the hostile attempting to cruise away from the jump gate to Hamburg in New Berlin, with a heading toward the Aachenfeld. I ordered the hostile to halt its engines immediately, with the intent of performing an interrogation and finding a peaceful resolution, but the hostile did not comply. I next informed the hostile that I was required to stop its engines with force if it did not comply. The hostile issued a threat, cut cruise engines and powered weapons with clear intent to use lethal force, so I responded that I was arming weapons with intent to engage. After a battle lasting apx. 8min 30sec, my vessel's power core was disabled by the blast wave from one of my own mines, and I lost contact with the hostile. I was retrieved inside my vessel by an RFP Recovery Team, where it was towed to Planet New Berlin for repair. My guncam was destroyed beyond retrieval during the encounter, and all data on it was lost.
[05.09.2016 17:58:13] VWA|Hannah.Feinen[$6] entered tradelane at Hamburg E-5
[05.09.2016 17:58:46] VWA|Hannah.Feinen[$6] exited tradelane at Hamburg E-7
[05.09.2016 17:59:15] VWA|Hannah.Feinen[$6] exited jumpgate at New Berlin E-2
[05.09.2016 17:59:27] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran[$18] exited tradelane at New Berlin E-2
[05.09.2016 17:59:57] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Attention VWA vessel this is Rheinland Police! Halt your engines immediately!
[05.09.2016 18:00:07] VWA|Hannah.Feinen: That, is not going to happen
[05.09.2016 18:00:16] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Don't make me try to stop them for you!
[05.09.2016 18:00:24] VWA|Hannah.Feinen: I'd like to see you try that
[05.09.2016 18:00:39] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: You know I have to try
[05.09.2016 18:00:57] VWA|Hannah.Feinen: Mmmhm, let's see what they teach you in the RFP
[05.09.2016 18:01:06] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Weapons armed, defend yourself
(At this point, combat began with the hostile vessel)
[05.09.2016 18:02:37] Death: GDTC-"Camelot" suffered a self-inflicted catastrophic decompression.
(Upon further review of my logs, I noticed TLAGS reported the transport from the previous incident suffered a significant malfunction in the Stuttgart system while I was fighting the VWA vessel. I hope it hadn't picked up more passengers on Planet Baden Baden beforehand. If it had, since I neglected to follow it to Stuttgart... So many lives...)
[05.09.2016 18:08:27] Death: RFP|Kadett.K.Taran suffered a self-administered loadout error (Mine).
INCIDENT REPORT - 004
Just over an hour later, I was shown to another Phantom-Class Fighter to resume my patrol after a medical scan and debriefing, and I am pleased to report that I recognized many components that had been scrapped, repaired, and reinstalled from the first vessel I was issued on my initial patrol yesterday. Perhaps I was wrong with the comments I made on the abilities of RFP Maintenance Crews in my last report. This time, I was to meet with Wachmann Krupp again in high orbit above New Berlin. Almost immediately, the Wachmann detected a Liberty Gunboat in the Hamburg system, and we moved through the trade lanes to intercept and interrogate. On the way, Oberst Wolthers joined our patrol as we entered the Hamburg system.
Wachmann Krupp was the farthest ahead, and sighted the vessel near Planet Kiel and the Battleship Westfalen. The Oberst and I arrived shortly after, just as the Wachmann was beginning his questioning. The vessel was identified as an Independent Bounty Hunters Guild contractor. I began to scan the vessel as the Wachmann was questioning, and immediately uploaded the scans to my secure data storage on the network so they would not risk being lost in the event that the situation escalated, which are added at the end of this Incident Report. Oberst Wolthers advised us on finer points of Rheinland Law regarding legal ship and weapon classes and origins, and it appeared that our manuals regarding such were outdated and based on information from the now resolved war with Liberty. The Bounty Hunter was determined not to be a threat, and had complied with all requests, and was allowed to proceed with the advisement that he should register his vessel to the Official Rheinland Bounty Board to avoid further mishap. I feel that the Bounty Hunter was extremely cooperative, and should be shown the proper leniency in Rheinland space, should he register his vessel properly as advised.
The Oberst then advised us to review Rheinland Law, and submit requisitions for new handbooks. Wachmann Krupp left the patrol to do so immediately, Oberst Wolthers left to file paperwork, while I resumed the patrol on my own with the promise that I would submit for a new handbook after the patrol.
[05.09.2016 19:15:52] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: So, where do we patrol today?
[05.09.2016 19:15:53] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: Liberty Gunboat in Hamburg
[05.09.2016 19:16:07] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: ja right behind you
(Soon after, we were joined by the Oberst.)
[05.09.2016 19:18:31] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: Kadett. I heard something about a Liberty gunboat?
[05.09.2016 19:18:50] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Welcome Oberst. Ja, in the Hamburg system, Wachmann Krupp is in pursuit I am following
[05.09.2016 19:19:34] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: I am on my way. Wachmann, your coordinates bitte.
[05.09.2016 19:19:52] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: Yawohl, trying to re-establish scanner contact, only picked him up as he was passing me
[05.09.2016 19:19:56] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Wachmann is at Planet Kiel D3
[05.09.2016 19:20:09] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: What is the name of the Liberty gunboat?
[05.09.2016 19:20:16] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: It's a bounty hunter...in a liberty gunboat
[05.09.2016 19:20:24] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: Hmm, that is interesting.
[05.09.2016 19:20:24] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: Tyler_Juan
[05.09.2016 19:20:34] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: I am arriving at your location Wach
(At this point, the Wachmann's questioning was in range of my local comms)
[05.09.2016 19:20:38] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: Polizei reinforcements are en-route for questioning
[05.09.2016 19:20:45] Tyler_Juan: Ok
[05.09.2016 19:20:45] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: He is by the Battleship
[05.09.2016 19:20:55] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: First off, tell me
[05.09.2016 19:21:00] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: What is your business in Rheinland?
[05.09.2016 19:21:10] Tyler_Juan: Doing some bounties
[05.09.2016 19:21:18] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: You're aware of the law then, I'm sure
[05.09.2016 19:21:20] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: Gut day die Herren.
[05.09.2016 19:21:46] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Looks like he has extra unmounted weapons in his hold
[05.09.2016 19:22:01] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: scans saved for future report
[05.09.2016 19:22:14] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: Excellent
[05.09.2016 19:22:26] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: Bounty Hunter?
[05.09.2016 19:22:30] Tyler_Juan: Yes
[05.09.2016 19:22:33] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: Are your comms systems in order?
[05.09.2016 19:22:38] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: Do you know the laws of Rheinland?
[05.09.2016 19:22:48] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: Keep in mind that only capital ships of cruiser class and higher are outright banned!
[05.09.2016 19:22:59] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: Considering you wish to enforce bounties within it
[05.09.2016 19:23:14] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Not gunboats, Oberst?
[05.09.2016 19:23:20] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: *shakes head*
[05.09.2016 19:23:25] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Understood
[05.09.2016 19:23:29] Tyler_Juan: From what I know, Bounty Hunters are welcome here, perhaps not Liberty forces though
[05.09.2016 19:23:42] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: You are correct, Bounty Hunter.
[05.09.2016 19:23:53] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: I believe Liberty Gunboat weapons are illegal?
[05.09.2016 19:23:57] Tyler_Juan: I know that the tech is Liberty but I purchased and requested in order to carry out higher level bounties
[05.09.2016 19:24:01] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: *shakes head again*
[05.09.2016 19:24:15] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Understood, I will review the manuals after this patrol
[05.09.2016 19:24:26] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: Bounty Hunter, it looks like my men mixed up some laws of Rheinland. I apologize for the inconvenience.
[05.09.2016 19:24:48] Tyler_Juan: No problem, better safe than sorry
[05.09.2016 19:24:55] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: It might have to do with the fact their handbooks are ein bit...out of date.
[05.09.2016 19:25:12] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: And seem to be of a time when Rheinland was in conflict with Liberty.
[05.09.2016 19:25:20] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: Thus their little mistake.
[05.09.2016 19:25:27] Tyler_Juan: Ah, I see, well as long all's in good order.
[05.09.2016 19:25:50] Tyler_Juan: No harm was done, may I leave now?
[05.09.2016 19:25:59] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: Just one thing, Bounty Hunter
[05.09.2016 19:26:07] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: I see no reason to detain him further if that is the case
[05.09.2016 19:26:32] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: Perhaps it would be ein good idea if you register to the Rheinland Bounty Board and especially your ship.
[05.09.2016 19:26:47] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: Thus any future misinterpretation can be avoided.
[05.09.2016 19:27:03] Tyler_Juan: Yes that's a good idea, this is my first visit to Rheinland
[05.09.2016 19:27:17] Tyler_Juan: Thank you very much, good day to you lads!
[05.09.2016 19:27:26] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: Safe flight, Bounty hunter.
(The Bounty Hunter docks with the trade lane, and scanner contact is lost)
[05.09.2016 19:27:45] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: Wachmann, Kadett. I suggest you re-read the current laws.
[05.09.2016 19:28:04] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: And make sure you get some new handbooks.
[05.09.2016 19:28:18] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: Understood Oberst, I will requisition a new handbook immediately after this patrol
[05.09.2016 19:28:20] RFP|Wach.A.Krupp: I think I'll go ahead and do that now
[05.09.2016 19:28:42] RFP|Obt.Thomas,Wolthers: If you excuse me, paperwork is waiting for me.
After separating from the Wachmann and the Oberst, TLAGS picked up another VWA hostile in the New Berlin system, this time near the Harzfeld. I moved to intercept, as it was likely watching the trade lanes for commercial vessels to extort under threat of violence. En route, I contacted RNC-Malkwitz and advised that I was investigating the location for VWA. I instead located the hostile over the trade lane in D5 near the Saarfeld, and my suspicions of extortion proved to be correct. I warned the hostile to power down his engines and weapons, but the hostile responded with a taunt. I then warned the hostile that it was not welcome in Rheinland, and the only peaceful resolution was to be allowed to be escorted out of Rheinland. The hostile ignored my warning as a BMM transport was passing through the trade lane below us, and the hostile dropped the lane to halt the incoming transport. The hostile issued a request to halt to the transport, and I felt, as civilians were now being threatened, that my only course of action was to engage the hostile to allow the transport to escape. I announced I was arming weapons with intent to engage, and the battle begun.
During the battle, RNC-Malkwitz contacted me for a status report, and I responded that I was locked in combat, and transmitted coordinates. After this I noticed that the transport had safely moved out of scanner range, and successfully docked with the next trade lane. My vessel was disabled apx. 1min 30sec after being contacted by the Malkwitz, for an overall combat duration of apx. 3min. RNC-Malkwitz did not arrive on the scene before all my systems were disabled, and I am unsure of the resolution to this incident. I was eventually towed back to Brandenburg Base for medical scan and debriefing. Again, my guncam was disabled with all data lost.
[05.09.2016 19:35:54] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: RNC-Malkwitz be advised I am investigating contacts of VWA near the Harzfeld
[05.09.2016 19:36:35] RNC-Malkwitz: I shall assist you
(At this point, I located the hostile near the Saarfeld, not the Harzfeld)
[05.09.2016 19:36:45] VWA|Jonas.Lehrich: Guten Abend.
[05.09.2016 19:36:55] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: VWA vessel this is Rheinland Police! Cut your engines and power to your weapons immediately!
[05.09.2016 19:37:17] VWA|Jonas.Lehrich: That is cute.
[05.09.2016 19:37:53] VWA|Jonas.Lehrich: I won't listen to a representative of a --REDACTED-- government.
[05.09.2016 19:38:04] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: You are not welcome in Rheinland Space, and will be escorted out if you want this to be resolved peacefully!
(At this point, hostile notices incoming BMM transport and drops the trade lane)
[05.09.2016 19:38:20] VWA|Jonas.Lehrich: Stop your vessel, BMM.
[05.09.2016 19:38:31] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: I am powering weapons and engaging!
[05.09.2016 19:38:39] VWA|Jonas.Lehrich: As you wish!
(At this point combat begins)
[05.09.2016 19:38:56] Clampin_28: what again ? (*Note: the BMM transport)
[05.09.2016 19:39:59] RNC-Malkwitz: RFP requesting status update
[05.09.2016 19:40:23] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: engaging VWA request backup
[05.09.2016 19:40:32] RFP|Kadett.K.Taran: D5
[05.09.2016 19:41:00] RNC-Malkwitz: On my way eta 35K
[05.09.2016 19:41:25] Death: RFP|Kadett.K.Taran was put out of action by VWA|Jonas.Lehrich (Mine).
