Subject:Patrol Report no.5
[font=Trebuchet Ms]
Right after lunch, at 12.00SMT, I took the Vauquelin out for a patrol. A quick sweep of the lanes showed that everything was quiet, like it should be. But, when I set course for the Lorraine jump hole, I came across something worrying. A Sirian trader by the name of VZD, hauling our Cryocubes. I immediately ordered him to stop, but he refused to comply. By that time, a council patrol showed up, which prevented me from pursuing the Sirian. Once I got rid of the patrol, I went to the RNS Beuvray, trying to find VZD. I was lucky, because after 5 minutes, he showed up on scanners again. I ordered him to stop and drop the cargo again, but he refused any cooperation. Even after disrupting his cruise, he tried to get away. He left me no choice but to destroy his vessel
Once that was done, I returned to the RNS Beuvray for a crew evaluation.
10 minutes later I met 2 recruits of the new Troisième Defence Fleet. They were busy setting up their ships. Gallia was clear, so I decided to help them out. They appeared to be very capable pilots, with a respectful attitude towards superiors and to each other. I think they can prove to be worthy assistance when the Primary fleet needs help. They can be recognized by the tag: |3eme
Shortly after we were done, the communication officer of the RNS Embrun contacted me. They spotted 2 sirian ships in range, but they were unsure what to do. I went for Dauphine to assist. Once I arrived, a surprise was waiting for me. 2 Sirian vessels, one with the name gamma-kvant, and VZD2 (see the resemblance?) It seemed that the captain of VZD was aboard this vessel, because he accused me of pirating and killing him. He seemed quite lively for a dead man, and pirating... *sighs*. I decided to deal with the sirian trader gamma-kvant first, but as soon as I started talking to him, he docked with the RNS Embrun.
I suggest we change our stands to hostile to both vessels ("[color=#FFFFFF]VZD", "VZD2" and "gamma-kvant"), to prevent such mix ups in the future.
The trader never undocked, so I proceeded to deal with VZD2. It was a sirian explorer vessel as we've seen before, but this time armed with several council weapons. Of course this was unacceptable, so I ordered him once again to leave Gallia, but the only thing he did was continue to accuse me of crimes I never committed. I arranged a date with Madame Guillotine for him.
