From the outside, besides the golden GMG gunboat turrets and the slightly different glow of the Border Worlds engine, Gypsie's Salvager Frigate was just the same as any other Sallie, just no mining arrays. Rusty panels that did not always fit perfectly together, with gaps inbetween, circuits coming out of them to go back underneath through a different hole. Plenty of radars and sonars stood out emerging from sidewings and rotators. And there was also that really good looking cloaking device, which gave the ship a final touch, but only the keen eye could tell what that tech actually was.
A quick visit to the inside of the ship, on the other hand, and one could easily conclude that the vessel was home to a space hippie of some sorts. Gyp had covered the walls with psychedelic patterns made out of plush cloth, replaced the conference table with some old fashioned Earthly diner seats, and had hanged chandeliers that illuminated the room with candles when the disco balls and strobes were shut down. On the diner tables one could find all sort of odd things, such as pineal amulets, bongs, drug stashes, little godly statues, marijuana sprouts in tiny pots, and such. The infirmary had been categorized by James Trenton himself as "a methlab", and little was there to add to this opinion, which was so close to the truth. Every room had a twin size bed and a bathroom with jacuzzi, as well as other amenities which varied from door to door. Gyp rooms had them all, including a mirror which covered the entirety of the roof.
A Discordian bachelor den / methlab / ambassador's ship. A Temporary Autonomous Zone.
Arbiter James Trenton had let Gypsie keep it when the TAZ reporter spent some time working in the Congress during the TAZ exile, after the Order crisis. Gypsie knew he owed Trenton bigtime for this, but was already trying to figure out a way to pay him back. He had an idea already, but it involved further plans of creating embassies for both factions on their counterpart's home systems. He was determined to achieve this goal however, and after the Nomad attack to Puerto Rico, the bonds between TAZ and the Junker Congress had become even stronger.
That episode was just the first one in a series of adventures that awaited on board the Telemakhos.
