Because glitching oneself into the hitbox of a base makes you unhittable not only by the base's weapon platforms, but also by any players.
This is abusing game mechanics in order to avoid player interaction (notably PVP), which makes it akin to F1ing in combat, and thus is sanctionable.
There's no reason why you can't hug the base for cover, but the moment you /stuck your way into it, you're out of line. I don't see what's so difficult to understand about this.

I think its already been mentioned that base platforms don't damage the base and I don't see why they should. I mean, as a player you can moveyourself out the way if NPC's catch you in the cross fire, bases can't do that. So unless they can make a way that bases stop shooting when it going to shoot the station I just see more abuse and QQ generated from it.
