"Yes," he said softly, "it is beautiful here and will be more so with what I've shown you."
Just outside the shuttle, he turned to her and placed his hands upon her shoulders. His hands slid down her arms and to her hips where they stayed as he looked into her eyes.
"What is missing is........" His eyes got watery as he looked into hers. ".....is you. I know this is sudden nor do I have a ring to offer." He then dropped to a knee before her, "This estate will need a matriarch. I want that matriarch to be you. So please, Ashlea, let us be one to make this right. I want you to be my wife. Would you?"
The cat was out of the bag. All he could do now was take a deep breath and wait.
She fell silent, just looking at him for a moment, trying to make sense of what he had just said "I....". After a moment, she smiled and covered her face with her hands, trying to hide the happy tears. She nodded before adding "Yes."

He stood back up, his hands now on her shoulders. He was in as much shock as she was. It was soon for them and the fact that he had fallen for her so quick, so hard and then proposed left him speechless. He just stood, letting her let it out as he just looked around him. A gentle breeze picked up as the distant clouds were overhead, the winds bringing in the smell of morning rain. Even a gloomy, rainy day here was a good day.
The thoughts of Foster, Med Force Enterprises and other matters were right now so distant that they never crossed his mind. Together they stood absorbing what had just happened. As they stood, a light rain began to fall. Looking up at the sky, he placed his hands on the skin of her sides. The rain would gently pick up. It was didn't rain hard but it rained steady and was cool to the touch. It didn't take long before they were soaked and their clothes now stuck to them. He just stayed with her, letting her enjoy the moment.
When he stood, she hugged him. After some time she looked up at the sky realizing it was raining and the two of them were soaking wet. It had been a very long time since she had last been in the rain and it was one thing she had really missed. Being there with him made it all the better, She cuddled into him again. "I love you." she murmured.
"Are you sure this is what you want?" she couldn't help but ask, despite already knowing the answer.

He just stood with her close, both soaked to the bone with their cloths stuck to them. He didn't hesitate. "The last time I was this sure of something I created Med Force Enterprises and we both know how well that decision went." The rain picked up a bit, the rain hitting louder on the trees and ground so he spoke up a bit with a nod, "Yes, I want this." He then looked at her, hoping it's what she wanted too."
"Good......" She smiled "I want nothing more then this" She cuddled in closer, hiding as best she could from it as the rain picked up "This rain...." She thought for a moment "It's nice...."
The temperature had dropped, it was cool. Despite noticing it, it wasn't bothering her too much, being that close to him was providing some warmth. "I don't want to let you go..... " She admitted, "But we really should go and get dried off...." She hesitated a moment before adding "And you should smile."

Doc nodded his head, gave a light chuckle and smiled, "At least now I have reason to." He then looked around. The shuttle had nothing to get dry in and the cabin was a short walk away.
"C'mon" he said to her as they began a brisk walk towards the house, "Something tells me this rain will be around awhile but then even those are nice days here in there own way."
They walked hand in hand the whole way. Upon arrival to the house, he stood under the awning over the main door and began to wring out his cloths. He was soaked. He stopped by the wood stove to stoke it and get some extra heat in the house. He stripped off his wet shirt and hung it over a drying rack next to it and went looking for a towel. Handing her one, he began drying himself off. He stopped mid way through just to watch her. He could only smile as he did.
"There is nothing wrong with the rain... Just because it is a little wet outside doesn't mean it's a bad thing." She takes her shirt off, as she takes her pants off she grins and adds "And anyway.... Jumping in puddles is always good fun"
She was drying off her hair when she looked over at him, catching him watching her and smiling. Leaving her hair damp, she hangs her towel up on the drying rack and walks over to him, resting her hands on his hips. She bites her lip before kissing him "Well, hey there..."

"Hey," he said softly placing his hands on her sides. He stood silently as he admired the beauty that stood before him. Despite having dried, the rain was inviting and the wet haired look was well, sexy. He couldn't contain himself. He reached down under and behind her and picked her up, holding her front to front against him and carried her out the door, kissing all the way. There they were in the rain again. Nothing else mattered.
He kissed her lips. He kissed her neck. He never let go and slowly walked while he carried her before finding a grassy area to fall onto. In the rain on that grassy spot near lake, passionate love was made.
Once all was done, they lay in the grass, her resting her head on his chest. The rain didn't bother her as she closed her eyes - lost in the moment. She didn't know what to say, there were no words that would even come close to what she was thinking, or feeling.
"I love you... But that doesn't even come close to how I'm feeling...." She smiled, and opened her eyes, looking up at him. "I honestly don't think there are words for it." Moving, she kissed him on the lips again. "I don't know what you've done to me, John.... I've never felt this way before.... But I wouldn't change this for the world"
