Night had fallen once more on planet Cambridge. With his hands in his pockets, he found himself wandering down a long winding road, not exactly having a destination in mind as he proceeded. Finding it quite odd that he actually felt at home, having lived in a very similar area.
The thought of home lingered even more as a ranch house revealed itself in the distance, a couple of lights being turned on in the distance alerted him to the location. A faint smile appeared on his lips as he continued forwards, considering it has been fifteen years since he's been here, more thoughts raced through his head as he continued down the road.
It took another hour and a half longer than he expected to actually reach the house. Coming to a full stop, he drew in a deep breath and took the mask he wore off, dropping it on the grass just before the porch. He glanced around at the familiar sights and smiled faintly, his heart beginning to beat rapidly.
An experience he hasn't felt in a long time...
It was fifteen years ago to the day, that certain events happened in his life. Certain events that brought him to the doorstep of The Order, and it was fresh in his memory.
He was on assignment for the Military Intelligence Section Five when he met a woman named Evelyn, the person he was suppose to keep a very close eye on as she was a Gaian sympathizer, and like all cheesy romance stories, what was a simple assignment soon turned into them falling in love and getting married. The marriage was allowed and even funded by the Intelligence Service, as it granted them a very unique opportunity.
Of course, years went on and little between the two seemed to change. Although, she had admitted to him that she supported the Gaian's cause, but didn't do anything that would endanger her life, or the lives of their children.
September 17th, 804 A.S., he received a letter with the seal of the Intelligence Service on it, and inside contained a signed order for the quiet execution of his wife, to be carried out by him, and failure to do so would result in him being branded a traitor.
He remembered all of it, from getting the letter to calling his father and requesting him to pick up the kids from school, then taking his wife out to Tau-31 on the personal transport... and executing her.
The memories flooded his mind as he clenched his teeth, stepping onto the porch and raising his hand to the door, knocking three times as he tried his hardest to fight back the tears. It was time to face reality that he couldn't just keep running from. He pulled his hand from the door and placed it back into his pocket as the door opened...
