With both the Gaul Royalists and our conventional fleets bogged down in Leeds. It's time we take the fight to the Gauls, mainly because we're in such a position to do so.
I don't know how much longer our forces can hold them within the system, as reports began pouring in that Royalist scouts have been spotted jumping into Magellan and attacking shipping between the borders of Bretonia and Liberty. I can only assume that this means they're getting ready to push.
The creation special operations taskforce between our forces seems to be the best way to cause as much damage to the Royalists as possible before they do make this push. Specifically dealing with striking the enemy where they'd least expect it...
I'll let you chaps discuss this between your respected commands, but do know that with or without you, we will be conducting these operations, and out of mutual benefits wish for both parties to aid with the best of their ability in such operations.
I am Commander Roger Anders, currently in charge of the Republic's forces in Babchenko's ill health.
I have heard of some of your squadron's exploits, and am glad you have contacted us for closer cooperation. Together, our forces should be quite effective against the Gallic menace.
Recently, there have been increased amounts of Gallic raiding parties headed past the flank of the Leeds fleets and entering Magellan or Cortez. Our 15th Hell's Angels squadron has had some effectiveness, along with assistance from other parties in Cortez and occasionally Coronado, but the Liberty Navy are the ones defending Magellan for the moment.
I do not know where you are basing from in Bretonia, but our camps on Planet Pecos and Sabah Shipyard in orbit of Yuma is open to you for repairs and refitting for your fighters.
If you have been given leave from the Bretonian Admiralty to strike further north in Sirius, this can be further discussed in more detail.
As for the leaders of the Council, I shall let them speak on what they can offer you.
COMM ID:ColonelAubert Giroux TARGET ID: Operative Sabre-1
As the maximum authority of the remaining Council forces in Gallia, I won't use this channel to discuss anything related to the already suggested operations within gallic borders, as such information should only concern whatever party that the Council would deem ally.
As you may or may not know, recent internal dialogue between the Sabre Command and Bretonian Admiralty have led us to pack up our things and abandon our post. Effectively, we're fugitives on the run with military hardware. This move comes at a cost, as I foresee Liberty declaring us outlaws as well. The charges we're facing will be that of desertion and treason. I'm sure I'll be receiving a message from the Admiralty requesting my presence at a court martial within the coming days.
Further more, I don't have to make it aware to you that the political ramifications for taking us in will be dire for the Colonial Republic, should the Admiralty of Bretonia and Liberty push for the Republic to hand us over. When that day comes and I hope it doesn't... I'd expect you to do the right thing. The right thing will, of course, be up to you to decide.
The Fifth, as we're calling ourselves now, will be continuing our operations against the Gallic invaders to the north. Specifically our Sabre team, our regulars - however - will gladly provide assistance to the Hell's Angels within the Cortez system. Depending future outcomes.
Our fleet strength consists of two cruisers, The Venona and Faringdon, as well as a handle of snubs.
Colonel Giroux,
You shall be getting a privately secured transmission from us momentarily.
I suppose I should have expected this, had I known it was you personally. Although the Sabres'... change in circumstances has come as a surprise, it will not have any real bearing on our working together, at least not in a negative way.
I agree that it would be best to keep evidence of our involvement at a minimum when in view of the Bretonia and Liberty Admiralties. Perhaps if you were to confine your interaction with the 15th to within Coronado itself.
Our bases there are still open to your fighters, and I assume you will need a dry-dock for the Venona and Faringdon? Space can be made for maintenance on Sabah.
Now, from what I heard of your actions, the 5th are looking to use guerilla warfare and hit-and-run tactics on the Gauls and their suppliers? That fits our MO perfectly.
We can assign you one of the unused hangars on the Carrier Hades in the Tau-39 system that was never filled by the Imperial Kusari Navy's wing we were expecting. From there, Tau-23, -37 and Orkney are readily accessible, where our 49th Firebirds already attack both Outcast and Gallic assets.
There is also the opportunity to strike the Gallic supply lines in the south of Gallia and their invasion corridor through Lewis. Our CIS agents in the 17th Rapiers can link up with any 5th pilots interested in deeper strikes.
As I said before, together we can do much more than apart. So say we all.
Currently, as the leader of the Roussillon Battlegroup, I have no obligations on continuing our common operations against Gallic Royal assets within the Tau regions. Once I have, or feel the need to discuss details, I will contact you privately.
Sincerement,
Colonel Pierre LaFlamme Du Conseil
Ambassadeur Du Conseil
From what I have heard, the 'proceedings' from the Bretonian Admiralties have yet to come to a conclusion. Depending on the outcome of these, harbouring you in Coronado is likely to cause friction with Bretonia; if they do come knocking, we may have to ask you to leave.
Your flagships may still dry-dock on Sabah for the meantime, as even in the hands of possible fugitives we can play the "protecting Bretonia's assets" card to Piett. The Hades is hidden from all groups we have not yet revealed it to, so your pilots can still find room and board in the hangars there.
Keep the Republic apprised of any progress, and how open our cooperation is shall change to reflect that.
