I am going to be totally honest here.

I thought you guys were full of crap, and just a bunch of whiney, ragey, rage-quitting children.

Then I realized I judged a book by its cover, and learned some more about you, Kaz, and the direction you want to take the Vagrant Raiders.

I then learned that a certain member I judged your faction on was booted/rage-quit again and you've gone to extraordinary lengths to remedy past issues.

I appreciate this entirely, and as a result I read your 'book' and am pleasantly surprised.

You have my seal of approval, Kaz and the rest of the Vagrant Raiders.

Keep up the good work in all your projects.


Well, I must say. I am utterly disappointed in your showmanship today.

Firstly a breach of your ID, then //ooc in local accusing me of ping issues.
I contacted your player regarding the pirate ID trouble in private and got a less than pleasant response.

If this is what you want to show as an official faction, then I am no longer supporting it.

So, I havn't noticed this in a while, I thought as the former leader of the VR I should make an appearance. (Even if certain people disapprove).

VR applying for Officialdom again. Not going to say I am surprised, we tossed around the idea a bit after giving Kaz leadership and I stepped down. Ive read a bit on the NO and VR, and while I can see where its going, I just don't see how your going to achieve a few things. VR- as a semi/quasi-lawful faction is going to be kind of strange, especially considering Josh's VR, my VR, and Isen's VR all shot the Navy.

I think Ile leave it at this: While I don't particularly like the changes VR has undergone (partially the reason why I left), I would not have given Kaz the leadership job if I did not have confidence in his ability as a leader, or his ideas. Same goes for Thexare.



@Altejago: You really do keep grudges for no apparant reason, but this is neither place nor time for this. And despite your hatred for me and VR (at the time because you didn't like me), Im glad I kept it alive to hand it off to someone way more qualified to lead the faction.

Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.

the VR was a good faction, I can't tell anything about it's state now because I don't even play anymore, but the main issue with the VR is that it's active for six months, vanish for two years then repeat. If you can fix that then you have some good potential for a fun faction.

The little time I've spent in it was under redacted leadership and the only thing I remember out of that experience it's that guy that was an annoyance 24/7 in the skype chat and ingame. I'm used to flaming like material, but that guy had serious mental issues. Despite several people complained about it, you decided to do nothing and in the end you lost members. So unlike you, I actually do welcome changes in the VR.

A name was removed because it constituted an insult against somebody. How about we argue against stances or decisions, and not ad hominem? -Champ

I think this is a misconception popularized by our leadership shakeup in 2011. The Raiders were originally around for about two years from mid-2009 to mid-2011 before anything happened. We had some activity drops, yes, but for those two solid years the faction existed without disappearance.

Thank you for your feedback, though. We wouldn't be requesting official faction status again if we didn't plan to stick around for a good long while -- probably until the game finally vanishes itself some time down the line.

Apologies for double-posting, but we've made some changes to our requested ID to make it a little bit more... sane.

  • 90% - Lane Hacker Guns/Ships
  • 75% - Rheinland Pirate Cruiser, Outcast Capitals (for our one Storta), Kusari Civilian Guns/Ships, Rheinland Civilian Guns/Ships
  • Red cell - Gallic Civilian Guns/Ships, Mollys Guns/Ships, Outcast Guns, Corsair Guns/Ships, Farmers Alliance Guns/Ships, Hogosha Guns/Ships, Xenos Guns.

The Vagrant Raiders request the following rephacks for our ID:
  • -0.55, No Dock - Ageira Technologies, Bounty Hunter's Guild, Bounty Hunter's Guild Core, Kusari Naval Forces, Kusari State Police, Xenos, Farmers Alliance, Hogosha
  • -0.9 - Gallic Royal Navy, Gallic Royal Police, Gallic Corporations, Rheinland Military, Rheinland Federal Police, Rheinland Corporations, Corsairs, Mollys

Another thing would be the yellow cell on Rheinland civilian ships. If you target their corporations, why would they even let you close to their shipyards/planets/stations where you buy that equipment. Unless I missed something and you can buy Rheinland civilian equipment at unlawful stations, that wouldn't make sense at all.

You were talking about the Tiger Shark earlier (thus the yellow cell on Rheinland civilian), how do you intend to get it from Planet Holstein? Just say 'Yea, we stole it at some point in the past.' That's what right now bothers me.

Aside from that, I like your approach and look forward to encounters with you ingame.

P.S: We have enough capspam in Rheinland already from both sides, my Wraith catches dust. I hope you rarely use that rheinland pirate cruiser if you happen to use it at all.

We could do that, but that kind of metagamey exploitation would be valid grounds for warnings and potential loss of official status.

In-RP you should be able to, and I think 4.87 is going to correct that as well. Civilian sympathizers, theft of shipments, etc. Plenty of possible explanations - the same ones any other pirate group has (go reread the tech charts, re: LR, Hackers, Mollys, etc.) While we're not local, we're operating locally and we can probably get them from the Hessians; they wouldn't share their own ships and guns, but sharing stuff they can get on the open market (at a markup, almost certainly) doesn't seem that odd as long as our goals align. If only temporarily.

In-RP, is it only available there? Mechanics and RP don't perfectly align. Never have. Never will as long as there's no way around the three-ships-per-base limitation.

We have no plans to use caps for anything other than RP events, defense of our territory, and (in the case of the Metropolis) as a carrier when the RP warrants it. In fact, we don't even have any GBs in our current Rheinland operations, just snubs and a transport.

They're impractical for piracy both due to the difficulty of escaping into asteroids and concerns of supply; yes, the Hessians are currently letting us use two of their bases, and of course the Junkers don't really give a damn, but there's a difference between maintaining a fighter and resupplying a cruiser.

Factions we're rephacked hostile to would be valid targets. Factions we're unfriendly to would be valid in self-defense or in defense of others. I can't think of how to word that in ID form. Also, like Thexare said, we're not stupid enough to jeopardize everything we've worked so hard for by doing something as metagamey as that. We have RP that we work strictly by.

Fair point. We will deliberate removing that.

The Junkers are pretty deep into the black market, and we're on decent terms with the Junkers. They'd be a source for replacement parts in-RP, which wouldn't be nearly as good as the real deal from the legitimate manufacturer, but we shoot the legitimate manufacturer, so we can't really go buy parts from them.

Addding to what Jake said, we intend to limit ourselves for the foreseeable future to the one SRPed Arbiter as a flagship and two or three cruisers max.



Some changes have been made to our tech request for balance and RP purposes. We will be dropping Outcast guns entirely from our tech chart. We don't want 'em. At all. Same with Corsair tech, Mollys tech, Farmers Alliance tech, Rogue guns, and Xenos tech.

Why do you deserve a terrorist ID when neither the Coalition or the Xenos do?
And by a terrorist ID I mean one that can attack trader ships without demands( even if limited to Gallic and Rheinland).
