This day brought on us some boring supply delivery, still, it was very useful, not for us, but for the congress.
The trips of the day:
- 1-2-3. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #CATASTA DEL TESCHIO#>>
- 4. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #DIFENSE TERRE-A-TERRE#>>
- 5. operation (2 times):
TYPE: <<Encryption code #MINERALE DA PROPULSORI#>>
As the operations shows, we were helping our neighbors too, the good <<Encryption code #CASA DEL Tè#>>. Sometimes they are the real "rompipalli", but they keep their back and defends our borders and interests too, which is nice.
Other hand, as R.E.G.I.N.A proposed, we get the <<Encryption code #MINERALE DA PROPULSORI#>>
and with it we managed to reinforce and upgrade our engine. First we tested the Bretonian models, but later at our smelter, we found, that the edge world engine model fits better the ship. At least Flavia and R.E.G.I.N.A was agree on that, against my opinion, which preferred the other one. Although, they are the experts. After all, they two made an excellent job with the hull, and with the hull junctions. First in the history of the Libeccio, she reached the 98.7688% of hull integrity. We are fit like a clockwork.
Meanwhile Rusty and I visited the bar level and we played a very interesting party of Baccarà, with the workers of the station and the local patrons. Almost we arrived to a friendly brawl, as Rusty won in chain, he robed me, but they too. He is a very able player, I had knew already, still, I always do the same mistake to call the fate against myself. Anyway, after the party we get the credits and escaped from the tense atmosphere of the bar. Rusty was laughing all the time and grinning with a devilish fashion. Those cards are his lucky charm, I'm sure (he had found the cards, as he tales every time we play, in the Trafalgar fields, when he was young, never told me more about it, just the particular, that he had had to collect all those cards one by one from space, whit a manipulator for heavy machinery. Interesting sport, I must admit.)
I was constraint to get my money back after we returned, and R.E.G.I.N.A. had congratulated him with a very suspicious way. Rusty denied the charge but he gave me back my part of the credits, and stated affronted, that he plays for fun. I'm sure he had been hoping for a brawl down there. After these weeks I can understand, but I would prefer beating others then fellow Junkers. Maybe we play again his little trick somewhere in house space (I would avoid situation like that with any pirate or unlawful party, they get very seriously the gambling, and even more the punishment of the persons caught on cheating.)
After all, with a lesser profit but with a great joy in heart we closed the day. The Libeccio's engine is new and improved, so we are ready for whole new challenges, and maybe it's time to look for new trips and sources of profit,
Today we made our first jump drive aided travel. It's a very exciting way of the travel, and also fast. Almost too comfortable.
The trips of the day:
- 1. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #D'ORO PIGLIATO#>>
- 2. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #ORANGE JUICE EXTRA#>>
The first operation was a long, traditional way, but thanks to the gods very easy too, the second one was assisted by the barge of the congress with transponder code <<transponder code censored>>.
We stealth through the blockade area without any problem. Seems the <<Encryption code #BRACCO RABBIOSO#>> had loosened his grip.
We was lucky to reach <<Encryption code #PATRIA ANTICA#>> just in time. There, our fellow congressmen and other fellow junkers was finishing their loading operation, and the barge was charging his hyperdrive when we've reached the system and unloaded our cargo, so we had occasion to join the formation. Only a minute or less remained when we reached the huge ship and jumped into the formation of the six ship. I must admit, it was a nice view, and Flavia was so excited, that I wasn't able to hold her back from sticking to the screen of external camera. The voice of the charging hyperdrive is like a music for the ears of a junker, not an every day experience, at least not for us.
However our normal trips are nice too, the jumps generates better profit, I'm sure. Still, we'll stick to the normal trips in the future. <<R.E.G.I.N.A.>> keeps commenting everything with numbers and probabilities, which is annoying sometimes. Even so, she seems learning all the time, and, as I've experienced, she keeps trying to add comments only if it's necessary (the problem, she is convinced, almost every note it is). Against the annoyance, I can't deny that she is useful, and supports decisions in regard to the navigational questions. However she was almost dazzled by the jump with the barge, dropped our shield again, though she adopted fast.
Not only our ship took badly the jump, seems Rusty has a weak stomach for this kind of travel. Against the fact, that he takes normal wormhole jumps as breath on a field in the spring (which I can't tell about myself, I hate wormholes and find it nauseate) he was knocked down by the barge jump. Flavia keeps monitoring his health signals. Our jack-of-all-trade AI, said, he has a very rare genetic anomaly, which causes the disturbance after the jump. At least he survived, and after hours of vomit, he slept few hours.
After the great jump, we delivered our cargo and gained nice profit. <<R.E.G.I.N.A.>> proposed to visit <<Encryption code #CULLA AMATA#>> and execute some minor modification on the hull sheathing of the Libeccio, which can provide a minor protection for Rusty on the next occasion, so we done it. Flavia done some review on the plans and after some tweak, she accepted it too. It's a kind of radiation shield, which can't deflect the field radiation but can help Rusty's cells to adopt the jump side effect and also wormhole jumps will be less nauseous. Luckily, we already made enough treasure hunt to provide the resources and materials for the work, but we are out of additional resources for now, so I scheduled a nice salvaging mission for the coming days.
The first operation was smooth and easy, low traffic nice places, peaceful atmosphere..
So much peaceful, that rusty dropped off, and as seems, we were very tired too, cause we hadn't realized that in our destination system were an officer of <<Encryption code #SHERLOCK HOLMES#>>. We tried to avoid (<<transponder code censored>>), but was too late, he were on track. I've decided to jetison our cargo into space, and after a few klick cut the engine too and clear the situation. Few bugs of credit not a big deal, but our fame is more precious to lose.
The officers aren't silly, at least not that much. We declared, that we found our illegal cargo in Cambridge system, after a fight between pirates, and we decide to get the cargo and "destroy" it second the good old protocol, which would be bringing it to a less populated zone and drop into the sun. That was the tale. He insisted, that it should have been destroyed on the spot, but I brought up, that we meant to be clear out junk from Sirius, not generate more.
He wasn't much convinced but he decided to warn us only, and not make further investigation nor prosecute us.
My little fast-talk worked, but still, it's a shame. We should avoid such situation, and I was so upset, cause nor Flavia, nor <<R.E.G.I.N.A.>> warned me in time to avoid this all.
Our kind ship declared with an angelic voice, that she was updating her code, after a long period of code review, in the matter of "Priority Matrix Handler", which helps her not disturb me all the time with not so important information. Ironic, isn't? I'm not sure either she wasn't mentioning the danger with will cause she had been offended or it's was just a slight fall of awareness as she stated.
The last three operation went good, but in a bad mood, and silence reigned on the board. Every single member of the crew of the Libeccio was extremely occupied with some serious "work", and no one dared to turn to me with a word after I went into my cabin to write the current report into the ship diary.
I hope this kind of errors we can exclude in the future. I want not bring shame or problems on the head of the congress with such silly encounters. Although, as it seems our progress with <<Encryption code #PIANORO NOSTRO#>> shows some step back, and <<Encryption code #SHERLOCK HOLMES#>> made new but slight effort to patrol the area, against the fact, that the system should be at least independent for now.
This day brought a real surprise, never thought before that such a thing could happen.
But first, here comes the list of our daily operations:
- 1. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #D'ORO PIGLIATO#>> - aborted
- 2. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #CARAPACE DI GOMMA AL ZIO VERDE#>>
- 3-4. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #CATASTA DEL TESCHIO#>>
Our first operation was aborted, because an early encounter with a swift patrol ship, named <<transponder code censored>>. This time all the crew was too busy to avoid the randez-vous with <<Encryption code #PASTORE TEDESCO#>> blockade patrol, other hand I was curious, that the incident repeats or not.
I must admit, I was really surprised, the officer was polite but very strict. We argued about the legality of my tour, but, even if he not shown sign of it, he was admitting that our ship hadn't contraband. The said officer was more with wits then I expected, he was questioned us about our destination. I've said what must be said, this time, still, he insisted, that I was lying. Wise, isn't?
At last he demanded that I must've reload my cargo at the nearest shipyard. Which means a horrible profit loss, so, I let him know about my serious problem. Selling the cargo there almost the same as If he robed me. My luck was, that I offered him instead to buy it from me, or compensate this loss of profit, which he agreed for my most honest surprise. He accepted my offer (near to the price of the fake destination), so we unloaded the cargo in <<Encryption code #FIGLIO D'ELBA#>> and "Herr Officer" was happy, but not as happy as we. This short trip was a roaring business, for a decent profit, meanwhile we pulled out ourself from a kind of....awkward situation (The patrol ship was a nice big one).
After this encounter we began the 2nd, improvised one, which proved good enough to get in count as plan B, in the future for cases like this.
As we were close enough to help the interest of the council, we finished two supply operation as well.
In these days her majesty, <<R.E.G.I.N.A.>> was very quiet, I hope it means only that she found a resolution against the constant chit-chatting, not some kind of wounded state. Flavia assured me that she is alright, and explained about some new and complex calculation on....something, whatever, technological razer-dazzle.
Meanwhile this, Rusty found his violin again, but this time it sounded a bit different, less annoying, or it was me, who gets used to the terrible voice of this forsaken instrument? God knows only, maybe he is improving...and don't ask me how.
A peaceful day it was, nothing really happened, except some nice finds on the field, see below.
But first, here comes the list of our daily operations:
- 1. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #DELINQUENTI COMUNI#>>
- 2. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #D'ORO PIGLIATO#>> - aborted
- 3. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #ORANGE JUICE#>>
- 4. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #PALLOTTOLA NERA AL'ORDINO #>>
- 5. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #DELINQUENTI COMUNI#>>
After all, these operations went just great. No encounter, no stop, nice profit. <R.E.G.I.N.A> and Flavia was all the time working together on something mysterious. I've learned to not put question, it's important let them work in peace sometimes. Hopefully they won't blew up us. Rusty keeps practicing with the violin, seems he reached some goals, but he complains all the time about the missing strings, I made a note to myself to seek for those strings, or something which can substitute it.
Her majesty was today polite with me, almost suspiciously, I swear, I never won't understand her. Flavia instead sometimes giggled, sometimes was very serious, she behaves as when she had found her. I hope nothing like that happens again, one is more then enough of them.
At least Rusty was always in good mood, we visited, every time touching a base, the bar and played and drank. But this time I was the winner, mostly. At least it was rewarding, he met an old fellow, who specialized on antique instruments, mainly on pianoforte though. I guess, they are going to speak in the future about the violin a lot, which is more boring for me, then Liberty space. He accepted to look for those strings, and asked only some minor favor (his niece was brought with us for a short trip, a nice but shy junker girl. I wonder, never met shy junker girls before, not typical). We made our part of the business. I hope Rusty won't take it too seriously, I doubt that the old boy could help repair the instrument.
Touching <<Encryption code #VICINI DI MADRE#>> we ventured for a short fun into the field and we found these:
- an old pen, ornate, but not functional anymore, interesting, never seen real paper, but probably it's for the archaic writing
- few tools, will do as spare
- a damaged medical bay again, with the other one we can almost put together a fully operational
- a container for biohazards (firstly we analyzed and fertilized it, I ordered a double-check and <R.E.G.I.N.A> stated it's safe now, probably never contained dangerous elements)
- a burn out communicator unit with encryption-decryption unit in it, we try collect the codes
- a cargo unit of cigars (the light of the day for me), next to it, there were few empty bottles of whiskey, and a human skeleton...poor fellow, probably the rescue team wasn't successful, but at least the last days were...joyful?
Not the best catch ever, but still something.
I valuate our day as a success, nice profit, no danger, and some treasure for our beloved Libeccio.
<R.E.G.I.N.A> and Flavia were still working on that mystical new project, they are in the cargo hold day and night, sometimes Flavia gets out with a great yawn sends down a coffee then hurries back to the hold. I've began to become curious, but they don't let me peek, I was cussing not a bit, but I can understand. Rusty keeps in secret their project too, when I've asked him, he just shrugged and grinned, then wanted show me the new song on the violin, so I've escaped in great hurry. He chased me for a while and meanwhile tried to play, interesting effect was the sound of the violin with the clamor of the boxes which he had hit.
The girls requested some parts and materials for their project, and Flavia put a list of them in my hand, as I know, with these one can build...almost anything from a coffee machine to a weapon. Anyway, we will visit few bases for the parts, others are somewhere in the hold (not even <R.E.G.I.N.A> was able find them there as they were out of catalogs yet, good to know that either she can't compete a junker in his own cargo hold), others again we can find easily with some scavenge run.
I can just hope they aren't building a twin for her majesty, or a secret bomb which can throw us out of Sirius. I should use my authority? Or, just sit and wait for the great "ta-ta-damm, see Tano, we've built an antimatter bomb" or something like that, I hadn't decided yet, but I was keeping an eye on them, and I will do the same for few other days. Other hand, without the elements on the list, probably they can't finish this thing, so no worries yet.
Nothing to valuate today, except the outstanding profit. The crew is in good health and The Libeccio flown exceptionally without malfunctions.

Text:
Lately we made some rest with the crew, and we got back from our usually haste here and there. We stopped nicely for days between the operation. The rush of the last months was quite tiresome.
The "girls" were very busy lately in their cargo hold section with their great secret. I must admit I become more and more curious about their doings there. The fact, that the ship wasn't destroyed yet tends to show me, that no imminent danger comes from their little surprise, but I'm not yet entirely tranquil.
Rusty keeps exercises with his violin, and as the above list shows, we found quite a nice lot of extremely useful object for him and his instrument. At least he is free from care. The idling in the field picking various objects renders all of us free and easy as in the old days.
<R.E.G.I.N.A> helped our work with amazing efficiency, she handles the code and software of the SIMAR, FLavia's invention. I'm sure she improved it a lot. Rusty and myself, we've built an additional monitoring station near to the turret command station for Rusty, and her majesty uploaded the new version of the "scrap radar" with the improved SIMAR on it. This doodad can monitor even a pinhead in the middle of the ruins of a battle-star, at least seems so. The fact of the below lists at least convinced me about that:
Here comes the treasures of the week:
- a box of pin (yes, it isn't a joke)
- a dozen of conductors in good shape
- two piece of radiation absorber filter
- the missing parts of the medical bay (we can now add into the SIMAR the searched parts, or some of it, and this thing looks up for it) and medical equipment, kits.
- a hand gun, particle ammo, aiming scope (last one broken but I will repair it hopefully)
- an antique tire of terrestrial vehicle (her majesty helped identify it, it was maybe a collector piece)
- a personal cargo box with mini-airlock (even if that last one is also broken, not repairable, as locker we can use it)
- crate of vine (I wasn't able determine whether it edible or not, <R.E.G.I.N.A> states that it contains an alcohol based substance but she would restrain from consumption. We'll see.)
- several ceramic linings and synthetic rubber sealants
- a golden coin (after analysis the database of her majesty confirms that it's a very good duplicate of a XXI. century currency, very probable, that it was kind of charm. I hope it brings more fortune for us then for the former holder)
The Libeccio improves on day by day basis, and almost I feel uncomfortable about the flawless state of the ship (97.62% in average of hull integrity, 84.31% efficiency of the power core, which is great taking notice of the fact, that the core was built from mere scrap and toxic waste, and who remember what else).
Diagnostics:
- ship hull integrity: 23.1%
- lifesupport status: DEACTIVE
- energy net status: FAILED (the core is intact, no imminent danger of meltdown)
- engine status: 67 % (1 of 2 main engine is operational, 3 of 7 secondary engine is operational)
- computer core status: EMERGENCY PROTOCOL ACTIVATED
- Communication system status: PARTLY ACTIVE
- medicalbay status: ACTIVE, 3 of 5 bays are occupied
- navigation system status: ACTIVE
- crew status: UNCONSCIOUS
- shield status: DEACTIVE
- weapon system status: DEACTIVE
Unknown event occured: 6039 hours ago (accordance with the Council main frame time and date settings) the ship entered in an anomaly near the New Berlin derby field, above the ecliptic (35k above it) . The telemetrics also the navigation failed to analyze the anomaly, although the ship computer core counted only 12hours between the start and the end of the unknown event. Right when the ship shifted into the appearing unprognostized "jump hole" the crew members mental state sliped immedietaly into unconscious falling on ground. <R.E.G.I.N.A> using the built MMU (Mobile Manipulator Unit) of the docking bay, managed to transfer the crew into the medical bay. Short after that, the energy network capacity decreased below critical level and life support failed (except the holding cells of the medical bay). The navigation system failed to establish our position in the Sirius.
After two hours <R.E.G.I.N.A> initaited the EMERGENCY PROTOCOL, and locked down the ship, turned off most of the systems to spare energy for the docking bay holding cells.
After 12 hour and 13 minutes 39 seconds the ship drifted into an other anomaly (or the exact same before). <R.E.G.I.N.A> reinitiated the navigation and telemetric system to get information on the ship location after the new occurance of the anomaly, which proved successful. The ship new location was the exact same as before the first anomaly (with approx. 9 m. difference).
After the "return" the comunication system was partly restored to connect to the emergency line of the Council and commenced emergency call uploading current report.

OOC info: If a fellow congressman care to come and pick up the ol' ye Libeccio and rp a bit send me the skype, I'm not in hurry.
Because no aid arrived from player (probably 'cause the communication issues) I've stepped forward with this event.
The first 131 attempt for the emergency broadcast in the system proved vain and useless. Once even a Congress ship has arrived in the system, but the partly failed communication system wasn't able to amplify the signal to get it to our fellow congressmen. After this attempt I've changed strategy and focused on the engine core to regain even the slightest amount of power to reignite the propulsors.
After several hours (19 hours 31 minutes 44 seconds) I've managed to ignite the main engine for burst of short periods, (10 times, 1.2319 seconds in avarage) and using the engine kill and the draft effect, the ship approached <<Encryption code #NIDO DI XAVIER#>> and the 132th attempt for emergency communication has found the ears of the tower. A patrol was sent out and the we were tractored in the vicinity of the hangar first, then inside it by the main beams of the base.
The chief of the hanger in charge ordered the quarantine of 3 days and recovered the crew from the medical bay and transfered it (inside the quarantine zone) to the infirmary.
As I'has had fears for my "beloved" (as AI it wouldn't be relevant use this expression) crew I've took part throughout the main frame of the base in the analysis of the retrieved biometrics.
I have to register that this type of intervention from my part is strictly forbidden and against the regulations of the Congress, still I've proceeded.
First became conscious Captain Tano Cariddi, then Quartermaster Rusty "Hammer" Monroe. Chief Engineer Flavia Speranza remained unconscious for other half day (11 hours 12 minutes 03 seconds).
While the quarantine was in force, the Libeccio was taken care by the hangar crew, and the ship was restored functional still far from the former state (which will take several months probably if not years).
After the quarantine was lifted the crew returned to the ship. They demeanor were strange and distant, probably on the grounds of the after-effect of the curing. The doctor in charge ordered a visit in <<Encryption code #PIANORO NOSTRO#>> and intensive relaxation for the crew itself during the route. We've also received an auto-doc unit on the board with the necessary post-traumatic pharmacy units.
The captain has gave me the orders and set course then retired to his compartment. The chief engineer remained in duty only to start the diagnostics and check the state of the ship, then she went to relax too (the pharmacy was administrated to her prevented long state of consciousness). The Quartermaster remained all the time in his compartment staring his violin then fell asleep after the visit of the mobile auto-doc unit.
The following operations were done without human intervention by the automatic function control sub-routine of the core computer . (The AI run the diagnostics with full attention.)
SUSPENDED Operations were
- 1. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #OZIO FAVORITO#>>
- 2. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #SCATTOLA DI DOLCI#>>
The situation we had before was solved and turned away successfully. Probably then report will come from Captain Tano Cariddi. The crew need further medical inspection and probably they all are going to get a small holiday while the Libeccio can be repaired fully.

Entry ID#: AS822_E03 Crew member: Tano Cariddi Subject: The Show must go on
Text:
First of all, I must express my deepest gratitude to <R.E.G.I.N.A>, because she saved all of us from the certain death, or even worst. From now on, Her Majesty got my fullest confidence and I see her as the fourth member of our crew.
After several week of recovery on <<Encryption code #CULLA AMATA#>> the Libeccio almost arrived at her formal glory. The repairs costs to us a fortune, but the Congress helped with some spare parts and a new engine block to the left side, which had been technicaly destroyed and trunced aldilà. I don't know what we've hit exactly, but was massive, for sure.
Paying the bill we haven't any chance to continue our sweet idle (which, to be honest, become almost boring), and against any insistence of the docs of the base, we've made sail and begin a new life. As we all know, "The show must go on".
Flavia has found Rusty's violin drafting in the ladies locker, but for now, we find it "wiser" to keep him from it, he need "rest", as we do. Anyway, Rusty is more grumpy than ever, and I guess not cause the lack of violin sound. I have to figure out what might be his problem. Maybe the last experience was too much for him, I just can hope, he will speak about it sooner or later, maybe after a nice long evening with dice and whiskey. I'm going to find an occasion to get some booze and a nice talk with the crew about "the happening".
Flavia keeps calm, maybe even calmer then before, almost like an iceberg, against her true nature. This gives me way more space for distress. The above said solution could work with her too, but I doubt it. She was the only female member of the crew, and who knows how they works in such extreme situation, maybe her body reacted differently or her mind.
My problem is, that we were awaken in a whole new sirius, the Congress seems fell on his knees, ill and weak as never berore. I'm worried about the news I get. Most of the congressmen hasn't even remember our callsign. Many has retired our disappeared. I will try find a way to aid our mates and renew the contacts, cause we need their support, and the comfort that we belong to someone. The space is a lonely place for one ship.
Meanwhile we managed to conclude the follow operations. All this work, I feel, was a great help for all of us, it distracted me too.
Operations were
- 1. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #D'ORO PIGLIATO AI PIRATI NOBILI#>>
- 2. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #VASO DI PANDORA#>>
- 3. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #CATASTA DEL TESCHIO#>>
- 4. operation:
TYPE: <<Encryption code #DELINQUENTI COMUNI#>>
Quite a long trip, we made it two times in chain. We collected enough founds to pay back the costs of restauration of the Libeccio, even some minor improvements were made from it. With the third operation we've began to help the Congress too.
Our body is recovered, and her majesty flew well too, but we have a long way to make till the full recuperation. Furthermore, there is the problem of the unknown side effects, and who know what else, other complications can occur too.
