We boarded the Battleship Dax of the Gallic Royal Navy in the Tau 31 system in the morning. We were granted a ride on an armored transport to the front lines to witness ourselves how efficient and dominant the Gallic forces are.
Thrill guaranteed as the pilot of the transport said. We undocked around noon and set course to the Edinburgh jump hole. Here and there a Bretonian patrol showed but they weren't a match for the transport and its guns. The Bretonians didn't even attempt an assault. Passing through the jump hole was more exciting. Bretonian forces seem to be scattered thin in Tau 31.
Once we emerged from the jump hole in Edinburgh the foggy purplish fog surrounded us. We thought that we would be heading towards the battleship stationed in Edinburgh but instead the co-pilot plotted a course to the Glendale Supply Depot, which is owned by the Gaians.
My heart beat kept increasing as we crossed the distance to the depot. Who knew what the Gallians had in mind, maybe they wanted to sell us to the highest bidder. I could see the fear rising in my assistants eyes after we had docked and the hatch of the transport opened.
Gaines entered the ship and searched it. Then this huge soldier worked his way towards us asking for our papers. The Gallic captain explained the situation and we were ordered to stay on board. I was surprised about how friendly the Gaians and the Gallians were.
We received water and food for the next part of our trip to the battleship Castres stationed in the Edinburgh system as well. Once we arrived there I got a look at one of the crates, it said OR, which is French for GOLD. We arrived back at the Battleship Dax in the evening. The trip was uneventful not half as exciting as we thought it would be.
Bottom line, Gallic supply ships are continuing their duty basically unchallenged by the Bretonian forces. On our short but impressive journey we saw several armored transports and Gallic trains arriving and leaving. It was also brought to our attention that the transports are supplying the Battleship in the Magellan system as well, not even bothering to be escorted.
AMAZING!
Gallic supplies are flowing from Gallia into Bretonia and even Liberty and valuable resources or prisoners are taken back to Gallia. The gold is also a nice pay off for their war efforts.
SHOCKING!
This also opens up a box full of questions. Why are those intensive supplies are happening? Might there be a new offensive on the horizon? Is Gallia trying to bleed out Bretonia and Liberty?
It's not going to be easy but it's certainly a start.
ALIEN JUMP GATE DETECTED NEAR FORT BUSH. ATTACKS ARE IMMINENT.
flashed in big bold red letters on the display of the neural net console. Seconds later the route to Fort Bush was plotted and a few minutes later we were pulled through the trade lane to Fort Bush.
As we were about to exit the trade lane another message flashed across the neural net console:
ALIEN JUMP GATE DESTROYED.
The huge fleet of Liberty Navy ships, at least ten plus cap ships seemed to be a little disoriented as a single Nomad ship appeared on the scene and immediately attacked.
A hail of weapon fire rained down on the Nomad ship, which fled as fast as it could.
Aside of chasing a single Nomad we were following the more interesting question:
Was this real or just a hoax?
Sources within the Liberty Navy wouldn't confirm or deny it. The best we were able to get out of them was the phrase: 'No Comment'. I always say, where there's smoke there's fire.
I would like to leave you with this:
What if this threat is real and aliens like the Nomads have the technology to materialize a jump gate in any system they want at any point in time?
The destruction of bases or even planets could be daily news in the future.
A fighter of the Legion was spotted close to Planet Manhatten earlier today. A short dialog of several pilots started and after exchanging just a couple of words between the pilot of the 5th and the Legion, the 5th pilot took matters in his hands and engaged the ship of the Legion.
Weapons fire lit up the sky illuminating the fight scene between the 2 ships. Shields were taken down, hull strength decreased and bots and bats repaired the damage.
After a vigorous fight a mistake of the 5th pilot led to his self destruction by entering Manhatten's atmosphere. Hard to say if it was done on purpose or it was an accident.
Seconds later a message flickered on the neural net console:
ADIRONDECK STATION UNDER ATTACK BY NOMADS
The base is located close to Fort Bush where an Alien Jump Gate supposedly materialized yesterday. We were on our way just to find a Nomad fighter firing at a civilian mining ship. To our very surprise the Legion's fighter came out of nowhere and engaged the Nomad without hesitation but wasn't able to save the Miner.
The Legion's fighter must have picked up two Liberty Navy Pilots during earlier engagements and was now challenged by the LSF to drop them. Out of options and after an intensive discussion another fight emerged, which didn't end well for the Legion's fighter, who only minutes ago fought off the Nomad so bravely.
But that wasn't it. A minute later Rogues appeared close to Manhatten and a small harmless Nomad. One of the Rogues actually tried to get money from us reporters. As we would have a million credits or more.
The Rogues destroyer was engaged by LSF forces and eliminated. Didn't look like a fair fight, but that what happens if you get too close to your enemies head quarters I guess.
The little Nomad on the other hand seemed to have fun flying through the hail of weapons fire. We lost track after a while and don't really know what happened to him.
So that concludes another day in the New York system.
Fun, fun, fun for all of us - well besides of the ones, who ended up in a escape pod of course.
My assistant and I were on our way to the Nago Station in Tau 29 to do a report on a new Sake purification technique.
As we undocked from Manhattan the cockpit speakers screamed 'Hostile'.
My heart beat increased instantly forcing the red liquid through my veins. What a rush and that before I had my second cup of Sunbucks.
A Legion and an Outcast IFF had suddenly appeared on the 'Important' Console. My assistants eyes widened as I instructed her to follow the ships in order to research their nature. You never know if there might be a story hidden; and indeed there is a small story there. Closing in on the Legion ship we identified the type as a 'Liberty Gunboat' – what a surprise.
Ship names blacked out to ensure anonymity
The threat level was a little to high for my taste. If they decided to turn on us we would be dead in a fraction of a second, or floating in space in our escape pod, which has happened before and isn't as enjoyable as you think it might be.
We agreed to try to contact the Legion at a later point and continued our journey to the Tau 29 system.
The trip was boring besides of my assistant raving on and on about how we will die sooner or later if we keep following the criminals.
This gives me the opportunity to state once more that we are impartial and non judgmental. Everybody in Sirius has a reason for what they do and it is up to us to report about it in an unbiased environment like our new channel.
We emerged from the Buffin jump hole in Tau 29 and the fantastic sky of the system greeted us. The color spectrum ranges from purple over blue over orange to green – just beautiful. You need to visit Freeport 6, where we headed, and enjoy it.
We just sat there as the huge Pilgrim Line of a Junker undocked. After exchanging a few pleasantries, which were rather brisk, well that's how Junkers are I assume and which is a kind of sexy.
You can't imagine my assistant's face when I instructed her to follow the Junker, which led us to the Tau 31 system. My first thought was that he's going to the Holman Outpost, but he didn't. The ship setup at a trade lane and disrupted it. Looks like the Junkers do have ties to the Lane Hackers.
It didn't take too long and an IDF convoy was forced out of the trade lanes right in front of the Junkers's Pilgrim Liner. The comms were filled with chatter in French followed by firing at the Junker. They didn't even scratch the Liner's shield.
The Junker captain asked them in a harsh tone to stop firing or he would destroy their ships. It seemed that the Gallic ship captains didn't understand with the consequence of the Liners turrets spitting their deadly load onto the Gallic ships. Hall plating was heading our way and the shields of our ship didn't hold up too well. We had to vacate the area for our own good. Sorry, we didn't get any pictures of the explosions.
The adrenaline rush was out of this world. Well, besides of the my assistance's constant screaming. What a morning.
Oh and before I forget it, the new technique for Sake purification, well it's great and the sake will taste a little better.
The never ending story about the battle between the Rogues and Liberty Forces took another turn this morning. The Liberty Navy pilot Adam Gibson was ordered to pursue an Outcast fighter. He must have been devastated when he caught up to him and found himself surrounded by not two but five hostile ships. As the image below shows he put a good fight before he was taken down. His support was still six thousand plus out and was not able to move in fast enough.
We couldn't get any of the transmissions on the Navy channels, but the analysis of the situation leads to the conclusion that the threat was under estimated by the capital ships as they moved way too slow and too late.
A viscous fight between the Navy ships and the per Liberty law Unlawfuls broke out. A hail of torpedo explosions and battleship turret fire illuminated the Jersey Debris Field. An area, which seemed almost peaceful before turned into a nightmare for anyone travelling through. Unlawful bombers and now two Rogue destroyers fought the Liberty battleship and destroyer to their bitter end.
The Liberty Navy transcript showed two offers to surrender, which was denied. Nevertheless with the firepower of a battleship on the scene a third offer could have been extended to them. On the other hand the Navy had the legal right to exterminate the Unlawfuls.
The following fight visualized furious revenge brought upon the enemy. Revenge for the death of their fighter pilot. The last unlawful ship left the scene once the second Rogue destroyer was chased down and destroyed.
The New York System is safe again - achieved by brute force - but safe.
A wonderful morning in the New York System. It's quiet outside of Manhattan. It feels like a finely woven blanket is hugging the system. A blanket woven out of threads of peace. Wouldn't it be so much easier if we all could get along? Might be a good New Years resolution, more diplomacy, less fighting. We met some folks on our way to the landing pad. Their behaviour indicated some serious intoxication not too long ago. They were happy! A rare emotion these days.
Manhatten - New York System
We're heading to New Berlin, Kruger is greeting us and the planet is as calm as Manhattan.
New Berlin - New Berlin System
Where ever we go a friendly 'Hello' chatters across the channels and Happy New Year follows. Even the SCRA is in a good mood today - what a surprise - The pilot we meet throws a 'Privet tovarish' our way, which we gladly accept and return. Even my assistant is calmer than usual.
New London greeted us the same way as the other systems, peaceful and quiet.
New London - New London System
We continued our way to the New Tokyo System. Needless to say that we had to go around the Gallic occupied systems since our papers are not too good and this time we didn't have an invitation.
We arrived at New Tokyo. The blueish particles softened the hard glare of the sun in the center of the system. A beautiful and calming scenery. We could have sat there for a long while enjoying our Sake, which we still had from a previous visit.
New Tokyo - New Tokyo System
On our way back to Liberty we ran into a Kusari Capital Ship Patrol. Very nice Gentlemen! Keeping their citizens safe. Up to the task regardless of the day and time could be their motto.
Kusari Naval Forces doing their job
As we jumped into the New York System a freighter captain and a Xeno fighter had a conversation, which to our surprise ended peaceful. The freighter was allowed to proceed and we were forced to. My assistant was more than happy to comply. It was brought to our attention that other news channels might have not show the whole truth and we were perceived as biased, which I want to emphasize is not the case.
Back at Manhattan we picked up transmissions about Liberty forces being tied up near West Point. Of course we follow the lead and head in that direction to just find that the 'Show is over', as the Liberty Navy pilot put it. Show over, back to Manhattan, and just arriving there two more fighters of the Xeno Alliance appear. Following their trail we run into a whole fleet of ships.
The peaceful system from earlier today had turned into a battle ground of ideologies. Unfortunately not by using words but rather brute force on both sides.
This concludes part 1 of the happily started 823 AS - tune in later to see how it continued.
A great New Years Day to you all. This is PH signing off.
As you know from part 1 of the report, when we jumped into the New York system a Xeno was questioning a freighter captain. We thought that he'd be taken out and we would follow shortly. My assistant got the ship ready to be able to flee instantly if necessary.
He was allowed to pass. But why?
Aren't Xeno terrorists shooting at everything they find?
Back at Manhatten more Xeno Alliance (XA) ships appeared on the scene.
Suddenly out of the blue the ships were engaged in a fight. I wasn't able to identify what caused the immediate exchange of fire between the Liberty forces and the XA. As strange as it sounds the XA seemed to be present to make a statement as you can see below. Sadly the ships of the Liberty Forces were outnumbered and the pilots ended up in escape pods.
More XA appeared and gathered not too far from our ship. We were even approached and offered an interview.
I have to ask: Do Terrorists Give Interviews?
To be honest, we didn't feel threatened at any point in time – until – the Liberty Navy Carrier Louisville showed up. And see for yourself.
The Hellfire ship giving the command to attack.
After several minutes of attack the Navy Carrier retreated towards Manhattan followed by the Xeno. He should have known better than going there putting Liberty Citizens in harms way – on the other hand so did the Xeno.
The peaceful feeling had turned into blind rage on both sides.
And it ended with the destruction of the Carrier, what a shame such a beautiful ship and the hard labor which went into it. All gone!
This is not how we all thought this day would end.
Starting out pieceful and quiet and ending with destruction and death.
Let's hope that this is not how 823 AS will be.
Stick around for two more episodes of "Happy 823 AS":
Interview with a Xeno and
New Years Resolutions - something personal from me to you.
A great New Years Day to you all. This is PH signing off.
After the Carrier went down leaving it's crew floating in space the Xeno ships had dispersed from Manhattan. We followed a trail and ran into a gunboat of the Xeno, the XA-Retribution commanded by Captain Stracke.
We politely asked for an interview, which we were granted. Captain Stracke indicated that he won't be speaking as a XA official rather presenting his personal opinion.
According to Stracke the main reason for the disputes between the Xeno Alliance and the Liberty government is the struggle against the death of the working class in Liberty.
All this began when Liberty was running low on raw materials and had to encourage the import of such, which caused the local mining companies consisting mainly out of small businesses or individuals to suffer. Their raw materials were drastically more expensive than the mass imports intensifying their struggle for survival.
Stracke:
“A man could go out, try to find some silver or copper, and make a decent living that way!”
From my perspective there's nothing wrong with that, unless the man can't sell it for a good price any longer given the price decay caused by mass imports.
Stracke:
As the mining disappeared the manufacturing industry in Liberty also took a dive. Only the companies, which could afford importing large quantities from other houses survived, the small businesses and individuals went bankrupt.
This concludes that the Xeno Alliance tries to block shipments to revive the local economy to make it possible for smaller businesses to earn a living. But why does this have to end in destruction of freighters and transports?
Stracke:
Personally I do not attack trade ships without giving them a chance to turn around. But make no mistake the Xeno Alliance overall is not necessarily that generous.
That's too bad, given the fact that a lot of the traders are mostly individuals. Like the one we met earlier, who was questioned by a Xeno. Comparable to the individuals mining, those traders are trying to make a living and forced to turn around or worse killed by the Xeno. The consequence, either loose your profit or your life. No surprise that some of the traders try to run, they can't afford to loose either one, neither profit nor life.
Now the question is, what does the Liberty government want. We tried to get a statement but were denied any comment on the matter.
Silence causes questions:
What's the Liberty Forces main purpose?
Ensure that the steady stream of goods flows into Liberty further impoverishing the small businesses and working class. That would mean that the Liberty forces are serving the big shipping and trade companies rather than their citizens.
Are the Liberty Forces keeping the Xeno voice down?
Frame the Xeno as terrorists and distract from everything else what's happening in Liberty.
Is the Xeno Alliance a haven for criminals, who have nothing else on their minds than destroying and killing?
As we can see based on Stracke's statement, he's considerate and follows his cause.
But are the others?
Bottom line is that there is another solution besides of violence. How about working together and finding a solution for everybody.
Sometimes a compromise solves conflicts like the one between the Liberty Government and the XA.
Ladies and Gentlemen on both sides – It's time to talk!
A great New Years Day to you all. This is PH signing off.
It's this time of the year again. The first day of the new year is filled with statements and commitments to change the 364 days to come. Haven't we heard it all?
I will quit taking Cardamine. I will not get drunk any more. I will exercise. I will eat healthy. I won't go to strip clubs any more. …
How many do really pursue their resolutions? And why are we not sticking to them. The first tough situation is also the first excuse to inhale some of the orange substance.
Most of the resolutions fail because they are
what you think you should be doing
and not what you really want to be doing.
So which of the two will most likely succeed? Things which you should be doing are more like goals or objectives. Reaching those goals implicate reaching happiness. But is it really that way? Once you reach a goal, does there need to be another and another until there are no more, and what then?
I personally don't like those goals. I like to enjoy life right where I'm at and if there is something to change then it should make my life more enjoyable.
So a good resolution would the one, which lets you experience the way to reach a specific goal and that experiences along the way will be awesome.
In my humble opinion goals need to be the results of great experiences.
So here are my 3 experiences for this year:
1. Enjoy life to the fullest but leave out the unhealthy stuff like Cardamine or a lot of hang overs
2. Meet everyone with an open mind, listen and try to understand
3. Experience Sirius by balancing work with life a lot better than in the past. Remember we work to live not the other way round. Well besides of the work-a-holics like me.
So think about your 3 resolutions and put positive experiences in front of them making it enjoyable to achieve them.
I'd love to hear your comments and get your feedback. Please contact me on a private channel though.
On a different note:
We appreciate all the donations to our ship.
It will help us to purchase a better bigger one in the future. A bigger ship will make it possible to travel into the border and edge world. According to our specialist we're looking at a gunboat class, which is by itself not too expensive, but the accessories like armor upgrades, … are.
Our goals from a work perspective:
1. Visit and report from the border and edge worlds
2. Get a better ship, our Civilian Shuttle won't make it far in the border and edge worlds.
3. Apply for a neutral permit (250 million credits) to allow us to visit all different factions and report about them, publish their stories and so on. I'd love to meet them all!
A great New Years Day to you all. This is PH signing off.
Our transcripts show that there was only one offer made to the Unlawfuls to turn themselves in. Which was denied, but given the fact that there was a battleship on the scene a second or even a third offer to surrender could have been extended.
This is incorrect, the Captain of the Liberty Navy Ship provided transcripts that showing that in fact a second offer to surrender was extended.
The article was corrected to:
The Liberty Navy transcript showed two offers to surrender, which was denied. Nevertheless with the firepower of a battleship on the scene a third offer could have been extended to them. On the other hand the Navy had the legal right to exterminate the Unlawfuls.
