While human conflicts keep shaping the face of Sirius, a silent threat prepares in the shadows, prepares to take on all. Humanity's old foes are massing for an attack and the time is nigh, yet there is a possible opportunity to stop them before it's too late,
Will the major forces of mankind unite once again against the biggest threat they have ever had to face? Will they be competing over technology no human has ever laid hands on? Or will all their efforts be in vain as the Slomon K'Hara turns out to be an unstoppable foe? The answers are yours to give.
The Background
TO: LN; RM; BAF; KNF - One New Message (High Priority)
Scouts out on standard patrol have started to report odd occurrences around House space. In each capital system and in random places spatial anomalies have started to fade in and out of existence. Scrambling for information, the R&D departments for each of the Houses' Naval Forces attempt to track down where these anomalies might show up again. The stakes are high as so far each spotted anomaly had a striking resemblance to jumpholes.
Each house has refined their mapping and spotting techniques and began to have more success over time. Finally they have managed to calculate where the next anomalies would appear. Confirming that they indeed are jumpholes, scouts have been sent through to report what lies on the other side.
The reports were shocking. Large alien structures floating in a strange nebula with an extremely massive structure in the center[sample one]. Scouts were not able to approach these structures due to a large amount of Nomad forces seeming with only one mission, to be protect the structure.
Thankfully and to a point undetected, the scouts were able to get a few more images showing three other equally as big structures[sample two] surrounded this main one.
However, the scouts were just barely able to make it back alive as they drew closer to the structures they were noticed and left at full blast as the Nomads began to notice and show an interest in the scouts.
The data, once collected and collated by the four houses, indicated that the the Nomads were creating a superweapon. One which appeared to be powerful enough to plow through any defenses that the houses may attempt. Planning on each front began in earnest pulling together trusted members of their naval forces to come up with something in order to stop this threat Desperately trying to formulate plans to use before it becomes something that they all might need to face in the future.
Scientists have calculated when and where the next jumpholes will appear. (Each of your respective capital systems. Details will be made available as the event approaches)
On the other end of Sirius, the Order having constantly monitored Nomad Space, have also noticed disturbances in the ether. It must be by some godly coincidence that they decide to act upon it the same day that the houses do. Since it makes sense to have them included as well.
The Logistics
Date and time:
● July 17th ● Time is to be decided. Preliminary survey says 18:00 UTC
I'll be the first to admit I'm not good at setting up the logistics portion of things. Leave a time in the comments (servertime) when you're available, and we'll get this worked out.
Involved factions:
ALL players welcome. There is no requirement that you must be in an official faction. Edit: Intelligence factions are invited as well. Though they will be counted as their respective house when it comes to counting how many from each are attending.
●Liberty Navy Cap Slots filled ● Bretonian Armed Forces Cap Slots filled ● Rheinland Military Cap Slots filled ● Kusari Naval Forces Cap Slots filled ● The Nomads ● The Wild (Any of the three factions) ● The Oracles ● The Order Cap Slots filled ● The Commune (Tagged ships only)
Event Setup
Settings:
● Two sides: Attackers, defenders. Defenders are on the scene before attackers arrive. ●Whether there'll be respawning depends on how many people sign up for the event. ● Balancing the event with such an odd attacker/defender ratio will be tricky. It'll be made clear 2-3 days before the event date. Every attempt will be made to make things more or less fair. ● Each house will have their own jumpholes in their own space leading to the event location. ● There are 14 destructible objects to be found on the event field: ● 8 of these are located around the central spire. Click me for an image ● 6 of these objects are located within the 3 nomad lairs which surround the central spire. Click me for an image ● There will be rewards in the form of credits for each action you manage to take. The amount of credits will vary depending on if you killed another player, or if you destroyed one of the objective points. (Or contributed a considerable amount to the destruction of an objective)
Goals:
● Attackers are to destroy all nodes. ● Defenders are to defend all nodes from being destroyed. ● Node HPs will be calculated based on attending fleet sizes and compositions (amount of snubs/caps on each side). ●I'll do my best to make sure that the numbers are fair to both sides, as we need to take into account there will be people defending them as well
Event Rules and Regulations
● Players willing to participate are to register with Ship Name and ID clearly specified. If done properly, they will be listed as participants. ● During the event the system will be locked down, and closed for those not registering in time to be listed as participants. ● InRP neither each house nor The Order are aware of the attendance of any other. This fact is kept in for some RP effect. ● Cooperation is not an expectation, just an option. But then so is rivalry. Any choice is understandable. ● Signups will be unlimited. However, right now we are limiting capital ships to 2 from each house, or the Order. This is not to overrun the Nomads with too many capital ships to handle. More may be invited depending on what the defending team looks like. There can be as many snubs as you'd like on each of the sides. ● The right is retained to restrict involvement if one side has too many players compared to the others. You may be asked to not participate if you are unable to change sides, and you have signed up very late. Hopefully we will only have to ask some players to change sides, and not exempt them from the event. ● Players signing up first will have priority over players signing up last. ● The reward for rivalry with the other houses will be some items with RP opportunity being presented to that house after the event. Most likely in the forum of items for R&D departments being given something to do. More options will be considered later.
* Some people may ask "Why are the Zoners and Core not involved in this?" - There are a few reasons for this. First and most importantly, it comes to balancing the event. There 'will' be more humans than Nomads. We're taking precautions in order to help balance things out, but having even more attackers vs the amount of defenders isn't something that we'd like.
Secondly, the Zoners were the people involved with the DROP event. TIme to give other people a turn.
Really, the bottom line is to give other people an opportunity to be involved. The Order is involved, since they're the Order. InRP, they're the ones who watch this sort of thing.
In short. You'll get your turn, other Omicron denizens. Don't worry.
I'd like to partake with a camera ship, recruit ID. As soon as the server is back, I'd create it and name it CAMERA.DRONE, in capital letters, so people know to hopefully not shoot it. Is that okay?
If you're there to take videos and pictures, that's absolutely fine! - KingBoo
I suppose the reason why the crayterian are not involved is the same as stated for the zoners, that they had/will have their turn (don't know if there was already something for CR as i'm still pretty new)

●Liberty Navy
If that includes LSF, I would bring my battlecruiser [NSE][IA]NSS-Evolutia. (LSF indie ID)
Can we add Commune on the Wild/Nomad side? I'd like to register us.
Alright. The Nomads/Wild probably will need more numbers anyways. I'll allow the Commune to sign up, though you will be under the same rules as the houses. 2 capital ships as a maximum. If the numbers become off balanced, some of your members may be asked to change sides.
Only the Commune. I'd rather bar the Outcasts from joining, as the Defenders numbers might rise too high. The attackers do need to destroy objectives along with defending themselves. Their job is harder than it sounds.
