My name is Thomas Davis and de-facto Commander-in-Chief of LCS-Secession. I am representative of entire crew, which agreed to secede from Liberty Navy after very suspicious rumours in regard to one of our crewmates, Marcus Falano. A few days ago, two strange Navy officers appeared at Norfolk Shipyard and demanded my officer to step outside the ship under suspicion of treason. Without a written notice from Liberty Navy admirality present, I outright refused to fulfill their demand as they had no right to do so. Knowing they could not do anything, they simply left. Part of my crew had started to disappear or have strange accidents that resulted in death. After death of my astrographer, which was the fifth "accidental victim", I made a decision and planned to flee from Liberty.
Having a word with Falano, it turned out he likely saw something he was not supposed to: namely scraps of the alien technology in possession of unlabeled Liberty Navy vessels. It would be nothing worth of hassle, if not the fact the technology was more alien - at least he claims so - than the post-Nomad War equipment. The very same ships are said to ship outrageous amounts of unspecifed data of unknown origin, likely straight from Omicrons. It is nothing new consindering the fact such shipments used to be a common practice in best interest of Liberty Navy, but these convoys and markings were wholly different. There are at least two people I know who were missing for years then returned as if nothing happened. That alone struck my guts that something was seriously out of the place only to be confirmed by events of the last few days.
On the way from Liberty, we were stopped by 5th Fleet, just after the markings were removed and replaced with civilian entries. Trying to talk our way out, the officer became suspicious and called the Admiral itself. However at the point of my crew going MIA, I could not trust even the Primary Fleet Admiral. Using the opportunity and short distraction around Fort Bush, LCS-Secession quickly left Liberty. We had no time to contact LSF, as lurking within Liberty would mean our impending doom, if the suspicions would be correct. Without any choice, we fled into Kusari.
Given these circumstances , I request temporal or indefinite asylum within Kusari borders as political refugees. For the time being, we are being moored to Yukawa Shipyard, as decided by KNF officers present on the scene.
Your message has been received. The events you are relating - as well as the request you expressed - are peculiar, to say the least. The Admiralty will review them at the earliest convenience.
Meanwhile, you are requested to gather your crew so that basic verifications can be performed; mainly to ensure their state of health is satisfactory. Personnel belonging to Kishiro Keiretsu will certainly contact you as well to begin checking procedures on the Gunship class vessel Secession.
Please make sure to cooperate with Naval Forces and State Police personnel on board Yukawa shipyard. Their role is to protect both your men and the personnel operating on Yukawa.
Respectfully, Office of Admiralty,
Kusari Naval Forces.
My crew and I will gladly cooperate with Kaigun, however the direct entrance onto LCS-Secession by unathorized personel, including foreign Naval officers or civilian Kishiro engineers, is highly restricted. Every single check on the ship concluded by KNF or Kishiro is to be maintained only while being escorted by our security officers. Every person found in a place he or she should not be will be arrested on sight, then released to KNF authorities after insightful revision.
The vessel may be the renegade Liberty Navy vessel, but I am still bound by its code and regulations, especially when every single Libertonian warship is de jure an extension of the Republic's territory. I do hope you will understand such a stance as the armed arm of your venerable house.
By the mandate granted to the Tokkeitai so that it serves as the eyes of Ministry of defense, and by extension, the Republic of Kusari and its people,
tokubetsu keisatsu-tai takes charge of this case, and acknowledges Commander Davis Thomas's desire to cooperate with Kusarian authorities.
The Tokkeitai will use this very transmission to clarify a few points.
- The Liberty gunboat class vessel, designated as 'Secession' will not be considered as Republic of Liberty sovereign territory, since its crew declared seceding from Liberty Navy. The tokkeitai will therefore consider this claim as void of any meaning.
- The crew, along with its Captain, are advised to not attempt any act aimed at obstructing Kusari Naval Forces personnel duties, including but not limited to, interrogating and performing medical checkups on the aforementioned crew, as well as data integrity procedures and black-box reviewing on the gunboat internal systems.
- Any attempt to do so will be dealt with, using force as last resort if necessary. Needless to say such actions would dramatically compromise the asylum request Captain Davis expressed.
The reasons of such a procedure are simple. The Tokkeitai must ensure this Liberty vessel personnel won't post a threat to any Kusari citizen. Dedicated Tokkeitai interrogators are expected to arrived on Yukawa within the next few hours. Until then, Captain Davis and his crew can consider themselves momentarily deprived of their right to circulate or move freely, even within Yukawa station, Honshu system.
In the event Commander Davis or any of his men have any question, they are of course free to direct them to the Tokkeitai, so that a swift response can be given to their inquiry.
My crew and I do not have much of a choice and the request is reasonable. It looks like your officers already came, so it would be proper to welcome them right away. We can already tell why the concerns take place as we have the concerns on our own in regard to the Navy back in our own house.
