History of Vympel
The Vympel Heavy Recon Wing started out as part of a Special Combat Initative during the middle of the year 818 A.S. during which the Coalition found itself at war with multiple hostile entities, the newest threat came from the 'Kingdom of Gallia', with the addition of this new threat, the Coalition's Commissariat and Ministry of Truth sent out the call for volunteers to stand up and challenge the new threats to the Coalition's soverignty under a new plan. These volunteers came from all walks of life within the Coalition, Rheinland Defectors, former Molly Terrorists as well as patriotic Coalitioners from Volgograd & JiangXi. They were brought to the Siberia Cloud and stationed on Sevestapol to begin 'Harsh Environment Training' due to the clouds of Siberia mimicing that of the Asteroid Fields of the Tau Systems as well as the Omega Systems where their most dangerous foes dwelt.
Upon completion of the HET (Harsh Environment Training) course the trainees were shipped to the planet JiangXi, 20 Kilometers from the ruins of New Hangzhou to a Commissariat Training Facility where they received extensive training in the fields of Demolitions, Covert Operations Management, Atmospheric Piloting Training as well as training in Small Arms. The Commissars ruthlessly exterminated those from the program who did not 'make the cut' in capability, temperament and willingness to learn, reducing the Vympel Candidates to a small group of individuals. These individuals were then certified by the Commissariat as 'Special Assets' and immediately put onto the front lines for their first Combat Sorties.
Today, Vympel is one of the most highly classified assets available to the Commissariat and can operate anywhere they are required within a small frame of time due to their dedicated Rapid Response Drills. Vympel may be deployed anywhere at anytime and are considered the Dagger of the Commissariat, they can strike covertly and return before the enemy can reinforce the target that has been struck.
Visualization of Zone of Direct Influence and Zone of Main Operations
Operational Areas of Vympel
Bretonia
Bretonia, due to its already weakened position in the wake of the Gallic Assault, is a minor target that Vympel Squadron would strike at. If the opportunity arises for a quick and effective strike, these opportunities will be grasped and dealt with quickly and quietly.
Rheinland
Rheinland is a major target of Vympel Operations. The fight against the Federal Government aside their Red Hessian allies is the key to victory in this zone. Vympel operatives will regularly advance deep into Rheinland territory to perform Search and Destroy operations, spread specified propaganda, or cause panic in the ranks of hostile Federal Government forces.
Omegas
The Omegas. Home of Vympel and the Coalition, is another major area of Operations for Vympel. The fight against the Corsair Empire takes priority for the well being of the Coalition and the threat to their civilian population. Vympel will at all opportunities attack and destroy Corsair Tactical and Logistical assets while also performing strategic strikes within Corsair Territory against vulnerable targets.
Taus
The Taus are another secondary Area of Operations for Vympel Squadron. It is the goal in this region to sabotage hostile supply lines, intercept hostile patrols and eliminate them. Gathering Intelligence here about any Gallic movements is also considerable.
Gallia
Gallia, a juggernaut barrelling down upon all of Sirius, these interlopers are another major operational zone for Vympel Squadron. The Squad will often move deep into Gallic territory to sabotage Royal Navy supply lines , strategically important trade corridors used by the Royal Navy to fuel their war efforts and persons of Militaristic interest. Gallic Military targets will be struck with ferocity and precision , they shall be destroyed without mercy, for Vympel will receive none in turn.
Goals of Vympel
Primary
Sabotage and Destruction of hostile supply lines and military assets.
Secondary Reconnaissance of Hostile Systems and Installations, Gathering Information for strategic strikes and operations.
Tertiary Broadening the influence of the Coalition throughout Vympel Operations space through targeted Propaganda and manipulation.
At War: - Outcasts
- Corsairs
- Nomads
- House Lawful Enforcement
- Bounty Hunters Guild
Ranks
Lieutenant
Lieutenants are the newest members to Vympel Squadron. They strive to be accepted by the Senior members and it is often said that Lieutenants will try the most obscene of things to gain respect of the squadron Colonels in the hopes of climbing the ladder.
Captain
Captains are already experienced members within the Squadron. They have atleast 10 Missions on their record and other achievements to have gained the respect of the Wing and accept them within them as full assets.
Major
Majors are Senior members of Vympel, they often run a group during missions and are also the go-to person for the lower members of the Squadron, they are considered some of the best in the business.
Colonel
Colonels are the Right-Hands of the General, Operations Command and Elite Operatives. They are the best of the best and they know their business like no-one else does. The Colonels aid the General in the running of the day-to-day operations of Vympel Squadron and deal with issues that the General is either too busy to take care of or delegates to them
General
The General is the commanding officer of Vympel squadron, he holds the respect of all members and represents the Wing to the Commissariat.
Firstly, what in the name of giant cow manure is that diplomacy? I cannot speak for a whole lot of factions there, but Order as friendly? That's strange. But that's not all....consider the odds. As I read it, you've basically listed every civilized region of space as your enemy (barring Liberty, that is.) As I see it, the Coalition is a pinspeck compared to even the smallest of those Houses....is it logical for you to really attack both Bretonia and Gallia, or Rheinland and the Corsairs at the same time?
Before someone brings out the "Guerilla warfare" argument...consider real Guerilla movements in history. The first...and probably most important thing they can accrue is the support of a large, sympathetic group, whether the support is direct or indirect. You do not fight everyone, unless you've stopped caring about reason in your faction structure.
Firstly, Thank you for taking the time to read this Faction Information sheet.
Looking at the Diplomacy in the creation of this Faction, we went through and decided which factions would be most beneficial to the goals Vympel wants to achieve. The Red Hessians are a large group with similar goals to ours , who operate in Rheinland, they have been a Coalition Ally for a long time, and there is no reason not to help them in their fight. The Mollys are the group the Coalition most turns to in Bretonia, they are the force to assist and who assists in Bretonia, although they do not fight Gallia. Looking to the Order we were looking for a faction that can provide data from the deeper parts of Sirius, which still operates all over and also can help us in a sticky situation all over Sirius, in places we operate. The Order is an Organization which can help us with information about a lot of things. The Diplomacy this faction bases on (The Allies and Friendlies especially) and has been pre-created with each leader of the Faction to allow for a smooth playing.
The Coalition's overlying goal as a whole has always been the liberation of Sirius from the Alliance, this would be every House. Bretonia, as seen in the Operations Areas of Vympel Section of the Original Post, is only a minor Target, with the main focus of Vympel lying in Gallia and Rheinland. The Corsairs are also a big enemy, but often are a target of opportunity if a strike with heavy damage can be dealt. The Guerrilla Warfare argument is always there with a small specialized group like this, Strike hard and fast. We've accrued the Support of the Hessians in Rheinland, which are the biggest ally we have in our main operations area, who are willing to fight aside us. The Mollys pose this Ally in Bretonia should strikes against Bretonia be on the daily agenda, or should the allies require Vympels assistance.

Mhmm. Alright.
Since the SCRA represented the entirety of the Coalition for a very long time and thus governed diplomacy, you'll inherit the brunt of their...well, stupidity. We're talking about broken alliances with both the Red Hessians and the Order. They're not likely to forget and forgive, not when your organization is not bringing much to the table, basically the size of an extended mercenary outift.
And while getting supply points in areas of operation is acceptable...I don't see your organization playing to win, here. Factions set unattainable goals so that they can remain active and do things, but that does not mean you do not make RP attempts towards getting to said goals. The smart person would break the weakest house in Sirius first. That'd be Bretonia, enlist a horde of allies and spread your communist manifesto there by force. Whether you succeed or not is up to the machinations of roleplay, but it'd be a far more interesting choice than "we're just hostile to everything."

We are well aware of the Diplomatic situation the SCRA has left the Coalition in, and we aim to create a faction with a different image of ourselves. We aim to keep a relationship with the Hessians of a steady Alliance and to assist them in their needs as they assist us. The Order will be an even bigger faction to "please" with the capabilities this faction has but we are confident we can create something interesting and effective in its Role Play and Game Play.
Being "Hostile" to most people does not mean we are instantly going to try to Murder and Hate everyone. Situations will occur where new friendships and alliances might be formed to attain a certain goal which both factions aim toward, or to solve a sticky situation. We are not trying to be a "Pew Everyone" Faction, but we want to keep Coalition goals, along with our own goals of sabotaging the enemies, even, with help of new allies.
