Bonjour, or ciaou as you might say it,

I've have been noticing a steady rise in the demand for your drug cardimine in the core systems of Gallia. It is in fact even rumored that the king himself has become addicted to the substance. The alarming rate of increase in the demand for cardimine has put an ... unpleasant amount of pressure on the main arteries of Gallic and Kusari space to control the nascent smuggling, making it too difficult to procure cardimine to meet the demand of the Gallic people through our conventional routes, through sellers like the Golden Chrysanthemums. So now i go straight to the source.

There is a small passage into your core worlds that exists from Lorraine to a heavily guarded Outcast system known as Omicron 80, if my memory serves me correctly. This Northern Passage has been clotted with mines as of late, but with a little work, I'm sure we could open up a small passage to get our ships through to Malta to buy the Cardimine straight at the source.

Now you may ask yourselves, sure this increases sales in Gallia, but what benefit do we derive? I would ask you to take a look at Gallia, covered in the filth of industrialism. And the saying holds true: one man's trash is another's treasure. The Gallic Junkers have made the process of scrapping more efficient, and can trade you more effective scrap parts than other Sirian Junkers can. Furthermore, We reside in a closer proximity to your home world, reducing the distance and time it takes for you to procure supplies from us, and to reap profit from cardimine. Furthermore, we have access to munitions from Picardy, and many other military supplies.. that have been forcefully... misplaced.... by the Royal Navy.

There lies one unfortunate problem, however. It seems that your defense systems have been set to a level of hostility unbecoming of our neutral ( and potential amicable!) relationship, making it impossible to procure cardimine from Planet Malta.

I do not request you accept this deal or not, i merely put forth an idea of mutual benefit for both sides.

Signore la Mare,

I address you on behalf of the Contari Famiglia and the Lance rather than the now defunct Council of Dons. As the premier producer and "exporter" of Malta's native blessing, Cardimine, I believe we can adequately consider your concerns.

While I understand business ventures may be simply business to some, the spread of Cardimine is much more for the Lance and Malta. It is our way of life, our being, our source of power and influence. As of late, Lance transports have dealt significantly with your comrades in Maine, possibly explaining a higher demand as the supplies have grown steadily as well as its exposure in Gallia.

To be blunt, we know of nothing the Gallic Junkers can provide us that is not already well in hand by your Sirian counterparts. Omicron Beta is a hub of smuggling activity, and we cross paths with many peoples and their wares so close to home. However, the spread of Cardimine is of utmost importance to us, so arrangements may yet be made.

It is our understanding that you support Gallia openly yet dabble in those things that threaten its hegemony. Quite a quandary for us, considering working with a group so close and favorable to a government and a people despised among our ranks. Whether Gallia's cultural characteristics are to your liking matter little, as we seek a full collapse of their way of life through the Orange.

I'd appreciate any light you might be able to share on this . . . issue.

We have many contacts in the more independent Gallic Corporations in Gallia like Solar and GMS, from whom we can purchase proprietary Gallic goods, like cryocubes, energy field equipment, nanotubes We can offer many fuels such as Oil, Promethene or Petrochemicals. And finally, there's the range of high quality Gallic Junker Scrap metals, manifolds and premium scrap.

Now come the issue of our allegiance to the Crown, I first apologies for not realizing that the Council of Dons was defunct, and so you also have not realized our allegiance to the Crown is defunct. We are a prideful group, and our pride has been injured, as the our direct work for the Crown ended quite suddenly after Reunion.

We don't support the Crown, but rather the Crown's credits. Yes, we'll sell them our things, target enemy transports outside of Gallia and perhaps even fight alongside them if the enemy is mutual. Besides this, the argument of whether the Crown is fighting the good fight is a serious one and is always under debate in the Gallic Junkers and perhaps we can be persuaded to assist the revolutionaries in their plight, but until then, the cash is the priority at the moment.

As to the self interest of us in cardimine: the Gallic Black Market is controlled by two dominant figures that work together, the Union Corse and the Gallic Brigands. Together, they accumulate ridiculous amounts of cash through the distribution of the Gallic drug, Nox. We face the possibility of our rivals, the Union Corse, economically and physically destroying us. Furthermore, you face the threat of nox rivaling cardimine in the Sirius markets, something you can stop with our help. With the only competition worthy of standing up to the dangerous foes being the lucrative orange Cardamine, it is our gateway to regaining our strength in Gallia and reducing the Union Corse threat to a mere 'bar brawl', if you will.

Signore la Mare,

While what you offer is appreciated, our need for these resources of yours are quite limited at the moment. Your brethren in Sirius have reputations and relationships that have earned our business for the time being. It seems you need us more than we need you, and a partner that would consider flying alongside one of the greatest threats to our home system in peace is certainly not a trustworthy one at first blush.

However, if the Brigands are willing to work with you, then we will extend the same opportunities for their benefit as well as yours. Many of our own smugglers do business with your comrades in a few trusted locales, and they have yet to mention issues in doing so. In exchange, we ask for information on the Corse's activities, from their work with those loyal to the Crown to the extent of their smuggling operations, both within and without Gallia. If you can pinpoint particularly important NOX dumps and other distribution hubs, we may be able to address the issue in more . . . covert manners.

It may take us several days to handle docking and defense protocols allowing you access to our space, but we will do what we can.

Para la gloria de la Nación
