Vaelin coupled his hands together as he set his forearms on the railing of the catwalk. A heavy auditable sigh escaped his lips as his eyes trailed over the ships cloaking device that had caused him both severe headaches and frustration. The Anubis Cloaking device had been dormant for some time, he had temporarily used one of the newer models of this technology however its performance was dissatisfying with only and eclipsed time of a few minutes before it became inoperable due to a lack of fuel. What he sought was a sustained cloak; he knew such ways could be implemented as the Anubis’ original cloaking device was a replica from the original Osiris. The uses for such a device was the substantial benefits if provided both in defense and offense however it was more of the defensive variant that had interested him. He had encountered a scientist that had sparked a slither of hope in the possibility of accomplishing the endeavor, however she had been able to exact a price from him that could turn down a path leading to regret, he had given her his word and there were only a few conditions that he would break his word and all of them were lives that she had no connection to, beyond these few he would pay his debt to her unconditionally. He just hoped that what he received was worth his word. He straightened and patted the railing with his hand; he turned on his heel and then made his way towards the entrance.
Vaelin entered the command room of the Anubis and sat down before the main control terminal. From above a subtle ebbing glow descended over the table overlay providing a three demonical interface. It brought up the display of the Anubis, he reached out with a hand to select the ability to perceive the layers of the ships interiors. There were adequate amounts of room with him being the only resident on a ship that was about the size of a small city. The AI and power core were both within close proximity to one another, the engine room was in the stereotypical place as there was no place else for it logically to go. The shield generator and the cloaking device chamber were both in between the three other devices. The front and rear of the ship were the two most reinforced sections of the ship, the space in between were adequately armored but not so extensively. He moved a hand to the overlay and touched a section of the ship highlighting it. “Jim allocate this area for construction and building supplies, prepare a room adjustment to the cloaking chamber and duplicate the size.” The overlay lit up in a brighter subtle glow before returning back to normal, it was the AI’s usual way of signaling its compliance and acknowledgement.
Vaelin waved his hand in a swatting manner horizontally, this gesture would cause the overlay image of the Anubis to fling off the screen and what would take it’s place was instead a varying degree of crafts – three of which were a Boarder worlds transport, a Bison and a Serenity transport with a few other freighters listed as Kestrel’s, Anki’s and Sunbursts. He relocated some of them shifting their directives from trade routes to gathering supplies of which the crew would respond, mostly autonomous droids. He pulled up a stat sheet of the vessels cargo capacities, he frowned at the underwhelming estimation of units the vessels would have and it became apparent to him that he could not maintain the covert nature of these ships if he had them running these supplies to where ever the Anubis’ was at the time. He needed to find a place where he could both store the resources as well as hire a few companies to shift and maybe even mine the resources. His hand moved over his mouth as he rubbed at his chin with a dissatisfied persona. This wasn’t even the difficult part, there was one item that he needed the he couldn’t just simply obtain.
