What you ask pmuch exists already (except for dark green). It's just that not the names are colored, but the target frames and ship names in the target list... (but then dark green's meaning, same IFF, is visible anyways)
The point of this thread wasn't to color names by IFF relations, but by ID/IFF combos for very specific factions only.

Swallow proposed colouring nicknames, hence I proposed this. It was reply to his idea. Sometimes, a few players happened to do it - myself included, it is easy to miss who said what or take message wrong. Especially during the engagement or prior engagement, because you need to keep an eye on the chat and area around the ship - difficult, if you need to watch like five players at the same time.
