The Research Vessel Okeanos Explorer; named for the Titan god Okeanos (or Oceanus), was commissioned in Early 822 A.S. by Isaac Nemo to further Omicron Supply Industries own research goals. The Okeanos Explorer quickly became a pet project for the board of directors. In April the hull of the Okeanos Explorer was towed from Livadia Shipyard to Corfu Base for final outfitting. By late July 822 A.S. the Okeanos had completed outfitting and shakedown, receiving a clean sweep review in the process. Commander James Blake arrived at the completion of the trials to assume control of the vessel. During her maiden voyage the Okeanos Explorer visited many of the Omicron Freeports to pick up her handpicked crew and scientific teams before setting out to her first research zone, Omicron Delta.

8 Solaris Cruiser Turrets
Capital Armor Mk 8
Cloaking Device Mk 2 Advanced
Modifications: In lieu of 4 full docking bays the Okeanos Explorer had 2 of her docking bays sealed and turned into expanded scientific labs, almost doubling the amount of research space she had available.
Secondary Vessels:
Logistic Support Squadron
"Hermes" CTE-F-1050-A Civilian Freighter
"Hestia" Series YX Border Worlds Freighter
The logistic support team consists of two freighter class vessels, a dedicated fueling vessel and a general cargo carrier.
Escort Support Squadron
"Dodo" Zoner Long Range Escort
"Kiwi" Zoner Long Range Escort
The escort support team consists of two Osprey long range escorts, they are generally seen with one of the two logistic vessels.

The Okeanos Explorer arrived in orbit of Planet Moros partway through the 3rd watch. The scientific teams spent a few hours reading themselves along with the Hermes and Hestia before descending to the planet’s surface. We had arrived in this area to study a magnetic abnormality that was picked up from an earlier research team. When the Okeanos first arrived we performed a deep radar scan of the area, this scan indicated that a huge object was within the magnetic abnormality. Further scans indicated that as much as 60% of the object was further buried into the planet’s surface.

While de-orbiting and on final approach the Hermes managed to take a photo while performing surface scans of the object. While the initial readings indicated a single large structure the surface scans showed an entirely different object. A sphere made of an unknown material was embedded in a frame also made of an unknown, but visually different material. Preliminary scans indicated that the sphere itself was not interacting with the environment around it, as no trace of erosion or corrosion was found. The frame however exhibits signs of corrosion similar to other installations that have already been found and explored across the planet. As of yet neither away team has found an entrance into the object, however much of the ruin contains writing that has already been linked to other Daam K’Vosh installations.

I’ve found the remains of some sort of station in orbit of Moros; even though most of the station is vented to space it still will serve as a good stash location. Allowing the science teams to resupply without the risk of keeping all of their equipment on the surface. Speaking of the surface teams; their supply order came in, so I’ll have something to pass along to my financiers. The conditions on the surface continue to slowly deteriorate; the teams on the surface believe that what passes for the winter season has started. While I’m waiting for them to confirm it with other data points I did order the construction of a panic room on the abandoned station. While I believe that the structures on the surface are more than capable of handing the conditions a fallback point for the teams is a necessary, considering the vast distance between our base of operations on Freeport 11 and their current location on the planet.
I don’t believe anyone has attempted to maintain a long term structure on the surface before. Most of our planetary data has come from single use drones that were spread over the surface in after its initial discovery 5 years ago. Further research is necessary but for the moment they will have to work with what they have been given.

The Okeanos has begun surveys of the local planetary bodies. We have decided to prioritize the mapping of Planet Nauru given its connection to the artifact trade. Hopefully we find more clues regarding the object in Omicron Lost. Many of the ruins that have already been studied are from the same period of time in the Daam K’Vosh Empire, hopefully these ruins provide some sort of connection to our object on Planet Moros. For the moment however we have just focused on surface scans, identifying any potential ruins.
On a better note the Directors approved the manifest list for the reinforcements for the surface teams. The first weekly report indicates that both habitation modules have been completed and the main research facilities are well underway.

The Okeanos has been placed into geostationary orbit above what appears to be an ancient space port, or trade center. The Hestia has been sent to the surface with a small team. While the ruins are our main focus; surface time has also been scheduled for the survey teams to study the planet itself. Given the ever-changing political climate of Omicron Delta the construction of a permanent surface facility has been rejected outright. The Commander has elected instead to send a team down daily to the surface, with the strict requirement of returning by sun-down Nauru local time. For the science teams protection these expeditions are accompanied by a squadron of marines. While we have fears of assault from the various warring factions so far many of the groups have either kept to themselves or expressed interest in our continued research.
