Hello designers and artists! BMM is looking to do a whole new logo, and we want you to design it!
Here's our current logo.
Pros: Uses 'miner friendly' imagery
Bretonian flag colours included
Cons: Largely outdated
Font is too comical
White outline has a mild yellow gradient to it
Shield shape feels off.
Hammer and spanner are too small, colour makes them hard to see
As it stands, the cons are outweighing the pros, so it's time for a change. Here's a list of things to consider:
Use mining / engineering imagery
BMM are the largest exporters of Gold, it'd be fantastic if a golden colour could be used in the logo.
Minimalist designs are welcome
Bretonia's flag colours may be used
No text is preferred (although you are welcome to prove me wrong)
Cogs, gears and other clockwork / steampunk / industrial revolution imagery may also fit the bill here.
Some other logos that may inspire include the Bowex logo (effective use of Bretonian colours, nice use of shape), Gateway logo (effective use of colour and imagery, fairly straightforward and striking), Red Hessian Logo (minimalist logo featuring the mining imagery), Wisp Innovation Logo (minimalist) and this logo that Redon included in our signature (minimalist, Bretonian colours, pickaxe).
Fabulous prizes will be given to high quality entries and a large credit sum will be given to the designer of the chosen logo.

That it is, I'll throw that up there for inspiration.
Personally I'm still not a fan of any of those designs. They don't fit with BMM's aesthetic and they're overly complex instead of simple and elegant. I still don't think portraying a worker in the logo is the way to go when you're dealing with a corporation that's all about dehumanising its workforce.

Totally get what you mean here. BMM has a cruel history of abusing it's employees, so having a 'socialist' themed logo kills that totally capitalist vibe. They're still high quality, but not really within the brief here.
