I am pleased to announce officially the creation of the Seraphim, a new group of zoners based in omicron-74. Our objective is to improve welfare of human beings in Sirius through the achievement of humanitarian projects. If you are interested to learn more about who we are and what we do I recommend you read this.
I am also contacting you to establish cordial relations between our organizations. Indeed, we are grateful of the protection you provided to humanity during the nomad wars and more recently when the Outer Rim University was under repetitive nomad assaults. Basically, we agree to follow the rules of the primary fleet. However, we would like to bring to your attention our anti-slavery project. Indeed, we are taking actions against slavery and some of our vessels may transport slaves to free them from slavers. In that context we might bring some slaves in the omicrons so they can start a new life. We would like to be sure it won't cause a misunderstanding between us.
In return of your protection, we would deliver some goods to your bases from time to time.
Let us know if we can have an agreement on that basis.
Zoners acting against act of slavery - that was a concept heard many times in years past, when Zoners tried to unsuccessfully unify. However any operations were few and far between, with certain groups such as TAZ blatantly refused to acknowledge biggest slave traffic in Sirius yet happening right on their doorsteps in Baffin. Now, this exact problem is non-existent in space directly controlled by The Order. Captured personnel and those found infringing our laws and customs are treated in capacity of prisoner of war, never put into labor unless directly expressing wish to join The Order. Of course we understand this is a major problem elsewhere, however it is not in our modus operandi to openly wage war against those engaging in this precedence, we are ideologically opposed to slavery. Therefore, we will lend any assistance we can in our capacity as it costs little for such high gain for humanity as a whole.
Currently among the population of The Order, there are those who were liberated by third parties and eventually making the trip to us by various means. In 818-819 A.S. we were engaged in relief operation to provide shelter and work to liberated citizens of Liberty bound to Malta's cardamine fields. Mostly impoverished colonists of planet Pittsburgh with mostly nothing to go back to, they were major strain to local organization that freed them before they left borders of the House. Many of them are still alive, and some even took up military career within The Order. Those who survived Toledo were relocated to Akabat with rest of our personnel.
Next, you may want to inspect Dabadoru - a former Core outpost in Omicron Delta - with intend to knowing more about different type of slavery that runs in Sirius. You could say 'indentured servants': petty criminals and pirates put to work by local authorities which is common practice on Liberty's inspired prison systems. Part of current crew of installation is formed by such people who did not put up resistance and joined our ranks instead with their freedom reinstated. Most dedicated of those remained on station, their expertise about installation proved invaluable as those high ranked who perished in defense despised concept of maintenance when they could make someone else do it for them.
You are free to get your own take on this issue if you visit us: both Akabat and Dabadoru are open to Seraphim Zoners. While lacking any direct communication with Nauru, it is expected that local Corsair and Zoner populations have been since exterminated or enslaved as well - Core itself may not lack military personnel, however their lack of civilian workers is evident as shown during battle of Dabadoru.
This is great to hear your position against slavery. We don't feel the need to inspect your bases, we trust you about it.
We are currently trying to federate the fight against slavery in the Coronado-Baffin-Tau corridor.
This is sad news that TAZ does not seem to take more actions against slavers in their home system. We will talk to them soon and we will see what we can do to improve the situation.
