To: Whomever it may concern From: Alex Mush CC: The Seraphim channel Encryption: Very high Topic: Planet Nuremberg: relief and evacuation
Greetings to Widerstandarmee command
My name is Alex Mush and I'm a member of volunteer Zoner group known as the Seraphim. Our goal is to support the civilian population of Sirius in desperate times. From local sources I conclude that such times have come for population of Planet Nuremberg.
The Seraphim worked on a plan for gradual relocation of citizens from the planet to secure and perspective locations. However, it seems now that the gradual relocation is off the table. Our sources informed us that the exodus has started. However, we still think that our plan could help at least some of the evacuees to reach safety.
We have surveyed several locations and found the following ones suitable for civilians moving from Planet Nuremberg. All those locations are in Rheinland space, which makes sense so people won't have to leave their House. We initiated communications with administrations of those planets.
This planet in Frankfurt system is run by Daumann Heavy Construction administration. It features mild climate and is really close to the Nuremberg people's origin: right in the next system. The following is excerpt from Neural Net description of the planet:
Quote:Terraforming continues on Holstein, with the average temperature slowly rising, which makes conditions on the planet more pleasant by each year. The process is expected to take another two decades to finish. Nevertheless, Daumann has already started to develop several industries on the planet, most of which revolve around the harvesting and processing of the mineral salts into agricultural fertilizers, and the production of Industrial Materials for both Rheinland and export to other houses. Aside from these industries, the rising temperature has also drawn a few enterpreneuring farmers from Stuttgart, who are gambling the improving climate will steadily improve their crop yields. The population of the planet is estimated to be around 60 million, increasing steadily.
Note that we need confirmation from Daumann administration to move significant numbers of citizens to the planet. We just have contacted the administration, so we are not ready to confirm this location yet.
Planet Saarbrucken (Koeln)
Situated in the system of Koeln, this planet offers more harsh living conditions than Holstein, as stated in Neural Net entry:
Quote:Saarbrucken is a world with a primitive ecology, only barely suitable for human life. Like Planet New Berlin, it is a place of extremes; much of the planet is arid desert, save for mountainous regions that curiously exhibit a tropical climate.
However, due to the active development of the Koeln system, Saarbrucken seems to offer more job opportunities and prospects for settlers moving there. The planet is also administered by Daumann. Access to the planet is provided by Tholey station which belongs to Bounty Hunters Guild. We sent them message regarding logistics.
Planet Hammersee (Luneburg/Sigma-15)
Being the latest addition to the Rheinland space, this planet is a true frontier. As such, the stakes are high there. Potential colonists might acheieve great success there, but they will have to work hard and endure difficulties unmatched in more developed worlds. Here's how the Neural Net describes the conditions at the planet:
Quote:Hammersee is an uninviting and tectonically active moon of Planet Juist, situated in the Sigma-15 system in far orbit of the primary star. The surface is dry and dusty, with volcanic activity commonplace. Despite this, the few lakes and small seas dotting the planet are easily desalinated due to their low salt content, and there is enough oxygen in the atmosphere to support human life, albeit uncomfortably.
Hammersee is controlled by Rheinland government directly. I believe there will be no objections from their side to moving some Rheinland own citizens to the planet. Still we need to understand how many people the planet can sustain at the moment. Maybe you can provide us with some information on that.
In addition to the organizational work, we can partake in other activities related to the evacuation and providing support to the remaining population. Please, inform us how else the Seraphim could help, and we will do our best. As non-profit organization, we won't charge passengers we transport. Unfortunately that also means we are limited in capacity.
I hope that our efforts will allow to quicken the exodus and bring relief to people of Munich system.
I am Oberst Erich Klugmann, and I apologize for the delay in returning this tranmission. In our brief exchange at Munich, you had stated that Seraphim possessed the means to transport a substantial number of refugees, or so I recall. While I am wholly appreciative of your humanitarianism, there are a few caveats to the current situation for these poor souls.
The Bundschuh Party is first targeting Nuremberg's poor and disadvantaged for exodus; not all of these people are skilled in trades, but a lack of skill does not strip away their rights to survival. In addition this makes the most sense from a humanitarian viewpoint, because those in control of capital and the means of production will already likely possess avenues of extrication from Nuremberg once their reasons to remain are outweighed by the dangers.
The crux of the issue with the Nuremberg poor is that they are presently subject to persecution by an arbitrary and clearly reactionary reply by the Bundesrepublik, to the sudden plight of their plebeian population. I will attach this proclamation in a file for your consideration, as the announcement was unencrypted and broadcast on federal neural net outlets.
As a result, I strongly discourage taking these refugees to settlements under the control of the Bundesrepublik, because you would be in effect sentencing and detaining them, and thus doing the Bundespolizei's jobs for them. The current primary port-of-call for Nurembergers to diffuse and make themselves scarce is Bethlehem Station, Pennsylvania.
As an aside, I should warn you that helping us tends to involve harming the Bundesrepublik, even indirectly. Should your organization pride itself on its neutrality with the rogue government, you will need to use extreme caution in your humanitarianism lest you jeopardize those relations.
Reply should you have any further questions or statements.

Oberst Klugmann,
Thank you for the reply and for meeting me in space, albeit briefly. I understand the risk you were taking, as well as how difficult it was for you to find time for that.
Moreover, I am grateful for the information you provided. It is essential to the success of our undertaking. It also confirms your reputation of a man of noble motives. We share your desire to protect the most vulnerable part of the population in the first place. I trust your judgement of who needs our help the most and which is the most safe destination for them as of now.
Albeit we share motives and agenda in this endeavour, I would like to remain sincere to you and admit that at the moment we do not intend to provide support to your compatriots directly. All we hope to do is to relieve distressed population of Planet Nuremberg as much as we could, just as you do.
You are accurate in assumption that we want to retain our neutral stance with the current government of Rheinland. We won't however trade people's lives for that neutrality. Thus we will continue to try to communicate with authorities to arrange evacuation of 'legal' passengers. We also will use extreme caution when transporting the restricted category of refugees.
Last thing I wanted to ask. The vessel that witnessed our encounter at Nuremberg, should I worry about it? Can it compromise our plans by exposing our comms to anyone, how do you feel?
I will keep this channel open for the further communication.
