Construction 800 A.S.
The U-99 under contruction
Constructing the U-99 was a difficult task, the BDM had to make sure that their ships were equipped with special technology that allowed them to operate over long distances and still remain hidden, the engineers that were given the task to build the U-99 had a lot of problems with the reconnaissance module that was supposed to be integrated in the ship, the software caused several errors to the whole ship and had to be completely re-coded so it would work. The exact task of the U-99 was not fully developed, while it needed an improved user interface and scanners for scouting and recon. missions, it also needed the necessary firepower to stop smaller threats and disrupt the flow of information for foreign intelligence agencies. When the U-99 was constructed it had to go through many tests that needed to give a 100% success rate at all tasks, the captain of the ship needed a special training to maintain the technology and not make mistakes while on a mission, any mistake would have been fatal.

The U-99 while passing the
Omicron Minor nebula
It was unknown that a nomad war would begin shortly after the U-99 was ready for deployment, however, it was not affected by the many infested forces within the Rheinwehr. The BDM sent the U-99 to Omicron Minor as one of the several ships that were needed for information gathering. Due to the thick clouds and the dangerous nomad presence, the U-99 was only able to get information of the Order base on Planet Toledo. The nomads were attacking the order base with battleships, the crew of the U-99 did not know that while they were on duty, the Rheinwehr took command over Schatten and constructed the nomad battleships there under the command of the infected Kanzler Florian Gustav Niemann. It would have probably been used by the infested forces if it would have returned earlier from the mission but upon arrival back in Rheinland, the war was already over and the infected pilots fled into the omegas. The crew was under heavy pressure to not be detected, the U-99 was only equipped with a radar jammer to remain unseen but was still able to be seen with the bare eye, the BDM had to come up with a new idea for their recon. vessels, cloaking devices.
First contact with "Das Wilde"
The U-99 gets assaulted
by infested ships
The presence of nomad infested Rheinland officers was not a secret anymore, most of them fled into the far omegas to remain unseen from the publicity, not much is known about the so-called "Wild". The U-99 was not initially a part of Wild recon. missions but was sent after an expedition of BDM vessels that discovered a nomad hyper gate in an omega system far away from Rheinland in 816 A.S. The U-99 was sent for clarification along with other vessels, the mission went horribly wrong, from 4 gunboats only the U-99 came back with no further information about the hyper gate, it was almost destroyed in a Wild encounter in Omega-55, it had to be flown back to Rheinland before it could get information about anything, the infested forces managed to destroy the reconnaissance module and thus no information could be recovered and the BDM was where it started again.
The Liberty-Rheinland War 817 A.S. - 822 A.S.
The U-99 in the Bering debris field
When Liberty declared war on Rheinland in 817 A.S. the U-99 was under repair due to the heavy damages caused by the infested ships that left almost unrepairable stains behind. It was part of the sabotage of the Bering gate to Hamburg to prevent Liberty forces from coming deeper into Rheinland space. The ship had smaller malfunctions and thus could not be used as reconnaissance vessel in Liberty space due to its cloaking device being completely unusable and the radar jammer damaged but Rheinland needed every available ship to prevent a total victory of Liberty, the U-99 was sent back to Oder-Shipyard after this mission and then to Schatten for several modifications that were available to the BDM. It has barely been used since then.
Task in Omicron Delta
The U-99 in Omicron Delta, 824 A.S.
In 824 A.S. Freeport-11 in the Omicron Delta system was attacked by an NEMP strike which was led by extremists that claimed to the Core. This attack made the tensions between Zoners and Core soldiers collapse and a skirmish began. This led to many ships smuggling artifacts from the Omicrons through Rheinland as well as Omicron Supply Industries ships being seen in Rheinland space. The BDM decided to investigate the situation to get a closer look on the exact situation, Admiral Hofmann himself assigned this mission to him and flew to Omicron Delta with the U-99. Upon arrival, they were greeted by the Core Guildmaster Jack Daniels himself in a lucky coincidence. The Guildmaster promised to detail the situation to the Admiral and provide shelter for the U-99 while they were operating in the Omicrons. Furthermore, the Core provided valuable information about a hidden nomad Azurite reactor within the Omicron Delta Edge Nebula. The Core provided footage of Zoners attacking Core ships while assisting Order ships in the process, the known Zoner ships "Arcadia" and "I-401" are heavily responsible for said actions and are being prosecuted for that. In a heavy attack led by Nomads against the U-99 it lost two of its Cerberus Turrtes as well as its forward gun, the Core provided the U-99 with two Gunboat turrets and a "Harpoon" forward gun
