Anyone actually got advice to do cap missions solo? I am really interested in those for fun and monies.
I imagine I would need an all in ship like a Legate or a Nephilim. I also would need weak cap factions as targets
Any suggested loadouts or further advices?
My way of working missions with friends. Make sure it's one that spawns reinforcements, complete mission. Have a friend stay behind to make sure your reinforcements don't despawn, find a mission in the same general area. Your npc reinforcements will help engage. Profit.
Just do 2+ mill basekill missions. They tend to only spawn fighters, and if you pick the ones where you only have to kill the station (or weapon platforms (or both)), you have easy life.
This Galaxy is vast; its wonders and beauty are almost unfathomable. But the galaxy also hides dark secrets, some of which have lain dormant since the beginning of time itself. There is a danger in secrets, both in seeking and in knowing. Some things are meant to be hidden from view. Some mysteries defy understanding, and sometimes even the things we think we know are untrue. Some secrets should remain untouched.

What I'm about to tell you is from the position of a liberty dreadnought with capital 8 armor upgrade included into it:
So you want to fight caps solo eh? As a liberty dread flier, they hang around lib obviously. Soloing any number of gunboats included in missions is easy, however fighting
Cruisers or anything in higher shipclass is needed with one or more person. There are things needed to consider:
Pulse cannons: they're your worst nightmare in cruiser capfights. Try to learn each ships range for those guns and stay well out of it if you can.
Solaris gatling: not an issue with a one in one battle on cruisers, until more come. They quickly become a problem if you got no shield bots as they'll prevent you from restoring shields. They have a short range which can be effective but hard in a small space in missions.
Evasion: the spiral manoeuvre could be used to avoid pulse cannons but not solaris Gatling or cruiser cannons. Try not to go headfirst unless you're equally distanced with friends as you can share the damage which increases your chance of success. NEVER take them on alone, any capital ship also I mean. As I said, spread the damage equally as you'll live longer. The Ai of the turrets will try to hit whoever is closer within their attack range.
Battlecruiser and battleships:
In my dread I can take on any house capital ship and 4 of its gunboats and win with my setup. But be aware of the barrage of pulse cannons that will knock your shields down faster than you can say hello, although it's not an issue in a one on one fight. Stay well away from their primaries and Cerberus cannons as they are your biggest threat in missions.
Battlecruisers will cause a problem too because of their large quantities of pulse cannons. Be sure to evade them when you can. Sharing damage also applies to battleships and battlecruisers.
i doing Solo missions in My Valor with CAU 7 pretty easy up to LV 40 ( up to 4 M cash prize + up to 6 M in loot ) , above that it depends on waves , if more than 2 waves come with more than 4 Cruisers in wave , i am done for .
Some tips :
Against Bretonian/Imperial Kusari Cruisers :
Approach slowly ( 10 kp/h ) to mission point ( to 2.5 k ) , as soon enemy apear , go in reverse and fire , Cruisers have range less than 2 K , so use your long to take out few of them before they can even scratch you , and when they come in range , just strafe up/down while still in reverse , it will minimize damage . Start go in front only when NPC mission Command tells you to go back in fight , and even that wait for 20-15 secunds left .
Against Bretonian/Liberty/Imperial Kusari BattleCruisers/Battleships :
You can use similar tactic , although these NPC have range of 3 K like you do , but you can evade most of fire at long range by strafing up/down .
Liberty Cruisers with forward gun are particularly nasty from front thanks to range , speed and rate of fire of FG , but you can defeat them Solo with cloak relativity easy . Start Mission , Cloak and approach mission coordinates , When they show they will stay in tight group ( since the dont see you ) , just but-cloak them at close , they are nearly harmless from but , they will not try to flee or turn around if you are very close to them .
You can also use Cloak trick on other Classes to , if they have weak rear weapons , or you can use cloak to trigger enemy to apear , go back to safer distance ( 3.5 k , un-claok and range kill them .

Also, cloaking at the wrong time is asking you to get killed. Be aware that you're sacrificing a perfectly useful and battle changing shield bar to pull this off
I made a thread about missions back in October last year and they said they would look into this for a gameplay update. Not to mention I put a poll in there where it was 29 to 4 in favor of a revamp.
