''Everone gets stressed love. Even great men and women with infinte patience get stressed.'' He took another sip of his drink. ''Where am I from? Leeds. I can tell you that because there's nothing left.'' It was true, Hull wasn't great to start with, but now...now he could accuratly say that he was born on a totally different leeds to the one that was there now. ''So tell me, if you want, who is your brother?''
"Mm? Oh yes, my brother is Commander Miles Prower, secondary fleet. It's a running joke that I often commandeer his battlecruiser for work in the 5th fleet. Everyone thought it weird when I was appointed his Executive Officer, but command approved it, so it's technically one of my vessels as well. It's become a back and forth between us, he makes me buy his some vodka every time I take it while he's on duty, only for myself to drink it anyway. The crew thinks it's hilarious but don't even remember if they're secondary for 5th fleet anymore. But I do remind them. They'd certainly love the higher pay, but not the more work." Nicole lightly laughed at the crew of her brothers ship.
"It's a shame about Leeds. I wish there was something we could do to bust the stalemate, but that's not my decision."
He smiled ''That would explain the vodka in your hold'' he said. ''Leeds is gone for now, best focus our efforts on what the Gallics don't expect and where they're not intrenched.'' he did tire of talking of war, he had enough of it from Dagon, he didn't need it here. ''So what say you about Liberty? it is your home and all but, I'd like to know your honest thoughts of it, if you don't mind''
"My honest thoughts would be it's a wonderful place to stay. Elegant buildings, pleasure, places to relax, and the limitless opportunity to make a living here, the house is a pretty solid place to live, and quite honestly, I'm happy here. But there is one thing. I do long to visit home again, to return to Planet New Tokyo, even if just to visit, to get a clear picture of what home used to be." Nicole looked at a Junyo Fire Pearl necklace she's wearing. "I managed to visit Junyo once, picked these up there. They're beautiful."
''Quite so'' he said looking at it. ''It suits you as well''. Truth be told he didn't have any strong opinions about liberty, save that they were loud and gave him a headache. Aside from that he didn't have much of a problem. ''I've always found Kusari to have an interesting culture, one of honour and respect, but also one that challenges many Bretonia ideals. They know how to operate under pressure, I'll give them that''.
"Thank you. And I suppose doing well under pressure may have something to do with my.. well everything. Even when everything's turning on and off on my yacht, I somehow find the right console to kick and give it a good ol' whap!" Nicole cheerfully said, taking a drink from her mixture. "Bretonians though... you are a real resilient bunch. Forging greatness from nothing 800 years ago. I do enjoy the few quiet times I've been to Bretonia, despite being official business and all. Hard working, a proud people. Some of the greatest banter I've seen amongst a crowd in a bar, I might add!" Nicole smiled, recalling the good times she had.
He smiled again at that ''Yes..we are a stout lot. I believe a colleague of mine once said ''Wisdom comes from pain'' and this war has made us very wise. But that is just an opinion, the reality is, is that we have no choice, either we stand or we fall.'' he paused ''Such things are not meant for polite company, come what say you to another round?'' he said as he finished his wiskey.
"I'd love another round." Nicole finished her glass. "Perhaps some day when I visit Kusari again, I could bring you something. Perhaps, a special mix of Sake. I do enjoy it. I'm suprised you haven't mentioned my age, everyone else always thinks I'm younger than I am. But, maturity comes at different rates for all I suppose." Nicole relaxed, being off duty, she didn't have to worry about being called into the fray at a moments notice.
''I already know your age. You're twenty one. All women are'' he said smiling back at her. ''If you should find yourself in Kusari, I would not object to a bottle being brought back, I don't believe I've tasted it before'' He turned to the waitress, signaled her over and asked for another two drinks of what they had. ''But, if you are not, for some reason twenty one, how old are you?''
"Well you are close my dear, twenty four. I'm actually planning a visit to New Tokyo to pick up a few things soon, I can grab that extra bottle for you, but only if the first round of that Portsmouth dry is on me." Nicole smiled. "It is nice being out for a drink. I suppose I should live a little while I'm still young, shouldn't I?"
