Ok i want to start off, with i love this game, i have for many many years. Its one of the few games i can always go back too and enjoy! With that being said, my latest experience with this game and server, has been absolutely atrocious!!! I spend more time on this website trying to decipher the 100 thousand rules and laws, pertaining to every little detail, of every single thing. Then when i am in game, i am constantly trying to avoid any other players AT ALL, because either they are hostile and they attack and steal from me, or they are house police or navy that come up with some bullshit "violation" and they attack and steal from me or levy some outrageous fine. Now to top it all off,, i spend an entire week building and supplying a base, which then gets attacked, blown up and i get stole from again..... {I didnt know i HAD too, and the asshole who posted the attack declaration sat next the base yesterday watched me dock in and out of the station, did not send me any message, warning or notification whatsoever, i know there is no "rule" stating he has too, much like there is no "rule" stating anyone has to have common curtosey, and thats why i have no problem calling him an asshole!]
So now i am all pissed off that i just wasted a week of my life and a couple hundred million credits, Pissed off that i just spent two hours on this website trying to find out where the hell i register for a station, who the hell gets my 30 million credits a month, just to not be blown up and robbed, and the only freaking thing i can find on the forums is 'talk to a high level liberty official' so i message the highest level liberty person i can find and all i get is ' you have register on the website'................So now i got to post an ' i am helpless' post, looking like a fucking idiot, when all i wanna to do, is playing the damn game......Alls these rules and laws are either so dense, it hard to find what your looking for or so open ended to translation, they are used against you [Looking at you liberty navy and police cockroaches]
So can anyone please tell me where the i register my base and who the hell gets my extortion payment?
1) Damn you are pissed off.
2) Try to build it somewhere more hidden if you dont want it to be found.
3) Register is made in Base License registration thread
4) Limit your swearings.
Breathe man, it can be frustrating to get your head around the rules.
Here's what I can suggest, don't make any bases until you are fully aware and prepared to get them to work, maintaining one is just as difficult as keeping it alive from people who want to do things with it.
As a bit of a dedicated player to disco for this past year, I can say from experience that gaining cash is much easier than is sounds. I suggest teaming up with groups for mining experiences because it's more fun that way. You could try mining gold ore in Dublin, but you'll have to pay a fine if you get caught by the mining companies there I think, you could mine copper ore in Kansas which is only two system trip for the sell off point, I've heard of helium and cobalt ore being viable options too, don't know much about them.
Here's what I did to obtain the credits: I first started out as a helium miner until I moved over to copper ore and started doing businesses for other companies, then I grabbed a hegemon and then started mining for myself, which gave me the credits I need after a bit of time, bought a stork ( 198 million, can buy a 5k cheaper ) and then it was my turn to pay miners while I hauled, and then I ended up here
I used to do copper runs hundreds of times and I've made billions and billions of credits of it, obtaining about approximately 7 billion in total now in ships, 5.5 of it was in copper ore, and this was in just 3-4 months ( Probbably could do better than me at that tbh )
Now about house rules, don't jump the gun. If you like a particular area and want to make a base if you're ready, get to know how that house space works first. Having to remember might get overwhelming but it's basically like reading your average rule book, it'll take time. Disco isn't meant to be easy so you need to get used to these things as they will happen.

I am very serious.
Where is the base license registration thread? As far as the swearing goes.......You called one person a name, one which i believe is deserved. Dude watched me stock my base up, so he could rob me the next day. I thought this was a a role playing server and him representing the government of liberty the in which he did, he should lose his ID!!! Liberty would have been better off taking my 30 mill a month and giving me some type of warning, rather than losing that money, and letting that captain keep whatever he could steal. A;; the other curse words were use in general, there is a difference between abusive and abrasive.

thank you for the info. you have been far more help than i have gotten anywhere else. Sounds like good advice on the mining part, but honestly, i just wanna stay away from everyone, its just been one douchenugget after another. i have a fairly profitable mining/trading run that i am comfortable with, but instead of any help or direction, i am just getting consistently screwed over, for not knowing every piece of minutia rule.

okay let's see what we do about that, first Of all I'd like to know how much you make in a run, your destination of mining and sellpoint too, I could Probbably provide insight. I'd recommend sending me a pm on the matter so I could discuss it privately without people gaining knowledge here and then tracking you down specifically.
Matters aside from that, whenever I come across a situation to being pirated, I assess their requests, consider if my loot is worth it or not, and then make my decision. (EDIT: section deleted upon clarification) That's where consideration for price of loot, time and such.
Example: copper takes roughly 10-15 minute travel for me, I get stopped by a pirate Scylla in New York and they ask for money. I say how much and they demand say 15-20 million. Now being that copper sells for 48 million for a full load, I would deny that request and try to run, why you ask? It's nearly 1/2 of the money and it's not worth it, rarely I escape or try to distract them before taking off, and making it out alive but normally I get killed. Now if it was say 12 million or under, I'd give them the cash as the trip is more worth it. 15 or over is rediculous but 12 million is moderately understandable since it's the average price, but you also need to consider how much you paid your miner if you did at all. Normally I tell them to screw off in the matter, many pirates are way more considerate with 8m or under, whenever I pirate I just ask for item requests, mostly alcohol for the hell of roleplay fun as I know that it sucks being pirated.
One of the common ways to avoid pirates is flying above or below the plane ( The sun is located on the same spot as the plane) around 30k's should do the trick. Rarely you will find a pirate doing the same thing you are, as pirates like to fly around unnoticed too, but it helps as the common pirate likes to disrupt trade lanes so they hang around them.
Getting pirated is like getting a summary on profits brought up to you and giving you a choice wether to split the profits with another company, if the price is worth close or at least half of your total earnings, say the miner wanted 12m and the pirate wanted 12m too, that's 24m which is half of your profit you made, not worth the Time eh?
Get to know your pirate, people will Probbably get angry at me suggesting this because people are butthurt when they rely on the player list a lot because it avoids their interaction, but remember their name so you know you can avoid them. Devise multiple routes if you can escape them, don't try the same way if they know you regularity go through there. Pirates will try to change tactics from time to time, pay attention to your surroundings and you'll be fine.
Equipment advice: Countermeasures are a must as almost every pirate uses a cruise disruptor. Long ranged scanners: this'll help you detect if hostiles are nearby, Like deep space scanners. You don't need deep cargo scanners so it's best to have that for the manner.
Not equipment, but quick reflexes. If you go into a lane, you need to be aware of the speeding ship coming towards you. if you click along the trade-lanes, you can essentially pinpoint their whereabouts as it'll show the disrupted "shield" bar from quite a distance away. Not everyone does this, they can wait until you're in range and disrupt it then, being too late. so be careful. then you just simply hit esc to get out of the lane, and run off elsewhere, Or if you see them on your scanners, press ESC as fast as you can and flee.
^ correct. Me on my pirate characters for example alwais wait until trader come in my 9-5 k range, then when i disrupt trade line, he is nice and helpless droped right in front of me so i dont even have to chase him, lazines above all!

But if they log off before then, you can go back in. That's where consideration for price of loot, time and such.
I will just point out that the Rule about the opposing Ship logging off and allowing you back in the System, no longer exists. The Rule now reads:
Quote:If you die whilst in a PVP situation, in any form, you are considered as ''PVP Dead''. A PVP Dead player must:
Leave the system the fight took place in for two hours. You must not carry cargo while doing so and must not engage in any player interaction while you are leaving. Other players must allow a PVP Dead player to leave the system.
Not re-enter the system they died in on any of their characters for two hours.
Not attack the player/players they died to on any of their server characters for two hours.
You now have to stay out of the System for 2 hours, with any of your Ships. This also counts for Traders combat docking:
Quote:4.3 Docking during combat with hostiles in docking message range (15k) counts as PvP Death.
'I would like to be half as clever as some people like to believe they are' Life is full of disappointments, it is how we handle them that helps to define us, as a person

Ah, i see i've missed quite a bit. Shame it got reverted back to it's original form, thanks for clarifying.

Just so you know:
He can steal inRP, but in reality, when a POB is blown up, everything on it dissapears, there is no loot. Just a little bit of scream, smoke, fire and ash.
