Admiral Knight, my name is Samuel Locklear. The rank is there in the comm info but grand titles are for small men, so if you could stick to Locklear I'd be grateful. Executive Commander Dalgaard has brought me up to speed on the current situation and things are deteriorating rapidly in the independent worlds. People have acted reprehensibly on both sides and because of their shortcomings a maelstrom of death is about to envelope us all. Certain things have been set in motion which cannot be undone, but I don't think its too late to stop good Libertonian men and women from shedding each other's blood in a fight which at the end of the day isn't really their own. The soldiers under my command signed on for building a better Liberty, and that's the exact opposite of what the path we're currently taking.
The truth of it is that we're at a crossroads, Admiral, and I don't like where we're headed. If people on your side or mine die fighting each other in what is ultimately a Rheinlander's war, then we'll both have failed in our taskings. I want to make sure that doesn't happen, and that's going to require the both of us to let our armor fall and talk eye to eye as people, not recorded transmissions on a dataslate from the comfort on our homes. I'd like the two of us to meet, and I'd like it to be soon, unevents are unfolding a little too quickly to afford us the luxury of time. If you're willing, I'll fly a Guardian out to Texas and we can talk about the future, instead of living in a past where the bitter are determined to keep fighting a war that ended three years ago.

I am rather certain that we are not the ones who initiated combat. And we are also not the ones sending battleships into your main system. Announced or not.
While I might appreciate the cooperative strikes on the Navy vessels there's a problem if Unioners are struck here. We're regrettably or not needing them currently. They are keeping the Navy out and our installations supplied.
Now before I reroute ships to meet you, what will we discuss there that requires a meeting? We're not having a lot of time to waste for chatting.

If I haven't made it clear already, I'm not interested in who fired the first shot, and you shouldn't be either. I'm also aware that you've kept your heads while Fleet Marshal brass has done the opposite. He acted on his own accord and sent his warship, the Polyphemus, into Bering. This is regrettable, and something I would've tried to stop if I had known, but also understandable given the circumstances of the Unioners pillaging and plundering innocent civilians in Texas after breaking a supposed truce. You have all the facts at your fingertips there, so I won't bother elaborating on that situation. You're more than capable of forming your own conclusions.
I'm offering you an out here. An opportunity to leave Bering and the Unioners behind entirely. I can arrange this, but only if we act quickly. Brass and Revels have little patience, and I can promise you that if you engage any Legion vessels - even in defense of the Unioners - that any chance for peace will be gone.

Considering that some of your fleet are already up in arms against us again, I cannot really take chances. I will come but certainly not alone or in a small ship like you suggested.
I suggest to stop playing games. First negotiating a cease fire to then immediately attack us again is making me think we assessed the Legion's intentions right from the very start.
