Yeah, in an ideal world we would neither need proof nor to report, however many people witness their own sieges and can tell when people repeatedly fire at weapon platforms. If you don't want to use a camera ship for the observation, you can also fight in defense of your PoB and face the PoB and just don't log out. Alternatively, don't die and just flee and log in a Freelancer or something and watch it.
On the other hand, it should already be enough to have people know that destroying bugged weapon platforms is a bug-abuse. People know those things shouldn't die in first place.

There is no such a thing in Disco (and other games that include other people) that can't be turned into a waste of something you care about. Better question is how to not get too much attached to your base, in case you build it. There is a bug in our heads to get attached to something you are taking care of, no matter if it's just a bunch of pixels.
On the other side, making, using and maintaining a base will make you new friends. Base can burn in pixel flames one day and that's all. Real friendships will stay.
