Dear Representatives of the University of Cambridge,
Greetings from us here at Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing.
We have long enjoyed fruitful cooperation with your fine educational institution, and your esteemed faculty have contributed greatly to both the success of BMM, and the success of Bretonia as a whole.
I have been instructed by our management to make a request of your fine university, one which ideally would come under less strenuous circumstances. We will be frank with you, the war has taken a considerable strain on our organisations ability to compete with high quality research projects, being overwhelmed with meeting more basic needs and from recovering from our losses over the years.
We are not however in any way willing to show weakness, to show compromise even in these dire circumstances. As such, we are investing in new resources for our Research department. While we would love nothing more than to research new mining methods and new designs for more efficient economic vessels, our most pressing concern is developing the weaponry to defeat that most violent of foes which we currently face.
Expressions of our willpower aside, and to get to the point. We would like to request a member of your faculty, a highly qualified individual we feel would be most suited to heading our research efforts. A certain Professor Arthur Morrison. We would like to request his services for a research post within our R&D division. I must make it clear however, the nature of the posting, and the proximity to the front present many risks, and while we do our utmost to ensure all researchers are safe, we cannot declare without doubt that nothing will happen.
If this individual is able to join us at BMM, we will make arrangements for his immediate transfer to our research base on New London, following a briefing at one of our offices.
Best regards,
Eliza Fairfield, Human Resources Department
While we are happy to contact the professor for you on your behalf, we must stress that the University code of ethics prevents any member of it's staff or student body from taking part in hostilities. Regardless of foe, political leanings, religious affiliation or personal circumstance. While you have not expressly stated that Professor Morrison would be engaging in hostilities directly, we are required to inform you that if it were to transpire that BMM employed a member of staff who ignored the Universities code of ethics, a court case would quickly follow.
Your message is being forwarded now.
Regards:
Professor Katrin Hamilton
Vice Chancellor
University of Cambridge.
Thank you kindly for forwarding this message to myself, and I judge by your willingness to do so, that you are allowing this posting to happen. Very well, I will file the necessary paperwork, and await the transport BMM has kindly offered to provide me.

Dear Eliza Fairfield,
I am no stranger to my work being applied to the real world, although I must admit I am far more used to research papers being provided, and the "dirty work" of making them reality is left to, well, you sorts. As to my posting, as alluded to above, I am willing, and able - despite my years - to lead your research efforts. In fact, I find myself absolutely unable to contemplate ignoring my duty in this most dire of eras we have entered.
As such, I gracefully accept your posting, and will await further instruction and your transportation.
Regards:
Professor Arthur Morrison
Professor of Physics
University of Cambridge.

Dear Professor Morrison,
Thank you for both the expedience of your reply and your positive response.
While there are many details we must go over, I think the first priority is getting you to New London post haste, a transport will be on the way to your location, I would normally share an itinerary of your trip to New London, but we are operating under a strict secrecy policy for this project, and I am not allowed to share your flight plan, even with yourself. A call will arrive 15 minutes prior to the transport making landing, I suggest you ready yourself to make to the rendezvous location at very short notice, if you struggle, members of our staff will be more proactive in getting you to the transport.
Apologies if this seems very cloak & dagger, but we are not taking any risks.
Best regards,
Eliza Fairfield, Human Resources Department
