As of today we received intell of a Freelancer group getting united. Starting the first Freelancer faction known as ''The Company''.
Very little is known so far about what statements ''The Company'' has made but we have been informed that ''The Company'' will soon give a press conference to inform us more about this very special event.
We have been interviewing some Freelancers and every single one of them had a different opinions about this. Freelancers are known for not being a part of any faction, however lots of Freelancers still support ''The Company'' and are currently awaiting any future information about their goals and any other important information we need to know.
To be continued.

// Yes, I'm going to try and make a Freelancer faction. I have played on Discovery for month's now (I got another forum account but don't want to get exposed) and I would think it would be cool to work this thing out. But therefore I'm going to need feedback and support from all of you. So heres the press conference.
Quote:The Company Press Conference
Welcome ladies and gentlemen, glad you all could make it.
This conference will be all about The Company, as you probably already knew. Now I shall do my part here first and try to answer as many of your questions, if you remain with any questions in the end I will direct you towards the place where you can ask them.
The Company is going to try to be the first Freelancer faction. Never in our long history has there been such a thing, and we are very exited to get this show on the road. Freelancers were always known for working for different people every time, but not joining a real faction. However, some Freelancers felt like working along with people that are the same as them, that feel the same. Those people are perfect for The Company.
What is The Company?
We are a organization existing of united Freelancer with share the same goals, and support each other to archive them.
What are The Company's Goals?
The main goal of The Company might sound a bit clich?, ''To do the right thing, no matter what''. There might be different laws all over Sirius but The Company will follow it's own. The Company will take part in Military and combat, the merchants world, space exploration and in the trade market.
What is the influence The Company have on non-company Freelancers?
None, Freelancers that still decide to work for themselves are out of The Company's control. Therefore every action a independent Freelancer does is not The Company's blame.
Is The Company a lawful or a unlawful organization?
Neither one of them, we are in between.
What ships and equipment will The Company use?
At the current time our armed forces will only be using civilian ships and weaponry. Our commercial sector will be flying non-faction vessels, such as the Border World Traders.
What structure does The Company have?
Our armed forces are run Military like. In order to keep a organization run smoothly you need discipline and order. People need to know their place in line.
For our commercial sector, there is a different rank and authority system for that, how higher the rank the higher amount of cargo they can have.
What is The Company's stance towards the other Factions?
We are currently working on a alliance with the Zoners and The Order as we share same enemy's. Our current enemy's are The Nomads, The Wilde and The Phantoms. Everyone else is considered neutral until they turn hostile towards us, or do things we don't find ''a right thing to do'' and therefore we shall become hostile towards them.
How do we recognize a Freelancer that works in The Company?
All our vessels will have a Suit code, this code will be swapped around once in a long time. (// [Company]''Suit.X'') Reason we have codes except for names is due to security reasons. We cannot have people.. or creatures tracking us down on our names. That brings not only us, but our family's in danger as well.
We also have a database up and running, if you still have questions with are Company related there is a press room where you can ask all your questions. (// you have to register first before you can see it) However, because we are still setting up there might be changes here and there, therefore our recruitment desk will be closed until furture notice. Thank you, and have a nice day.

// Now I've basically described everything I've worked out on The Company in that conference. Questions may be asked in the forum, feedback may be given here. I thank you in advance for any help your going to give.
Speaking as John Valentine, Freelancer Extraordinaire, I like it. As long as you generally keep your noses out of things and don't try to become some sort of Sirius-wide police/peacekeeping force/Good Guys Inc., I think it could be pretty interesting.
That said, I don't think you should immediately persue official status. Unless you want to buy a home system someday, this faction seems like it would work best with the looser rules and regulations of an unofficial faction. Basing yourselves off of the Barrier Gate would be the obvious choice, and of course there are Freeports in other areas of Sirius. I'm sure the Zoners wouldn't mind if you didn't cause trouble for them.
I wasn't planning on making us Sirius wide blabla. I've never liked that, it splits a faction to thin. Space exploration will mostly be in the nomad/edge worlds probably for research.
I'm not hitting for official status either. I've seen a unofficial list here to, I'm trying to get on there. And this topic is to get some attention, feedback, assistance and whatnot.
I think this could be a good idea but i have some sugestions...
I dont think this faction should act like all the others.
You should'nt have any power over the freelancer in general, just the one you contracted to do the service for your client. Freelancer would work in a subcontract for you. That way, any freelancer would have better chances of finding a job.
Example:
Trader X gives you 2 mil to get a freelancer escort for him. You contact someone on your list (online at that moment), offer him the job and you offer him a part of that money.
You would be the middleman.
I dont think that name changes([company] suit.x) should be done. Freelancer should keep their name.
The Company should not really be called a faction, thats why I used ''organization'' some times as well. I like your input. The Company will exist of united freelancers, we will be in escorts for hire to, The Company is a organization that gets Freelancers to work.
The name was an idea of mine to improve the role play. Freelancers can make very dangerous enemy's and having your name all over it isn't just an good idea. At least the tag [Company] stays, and I'll wait for more opinions on the ''suit.X'' names. Also, having the Suit.x name doesn't means your Freelancers is a mr.no name, each Company member can make their own background part. And in there they will have a name, and they may use it in game towards people they can trust.

Thanks for your opinion cer1al_k1ller.
The problem with the name change, is if i use [company] in my name, im no longer free! Ill be connected the the company and thats something most freelancers wont do it (includind me).
Members of "The Company" should still work on their own but, when you have some job, you give it to some freelancer in your ranks. After job is done, he is on his one again till next job.
Why would freelancers join "The company" if they can find jobs on their own? Only because you will have more visibility and publicity than the freelancers on their own. You would be the one to make the contracts with the other companys.

I guess this way things would work out.
Ah!
That idea isn't so bad at all!
A company where Freelancers can register in to get jobs from, but when they don't have any from us they can do whatever they want.
Hmm, thats making me think. Alright you got my mind running again, I gotta get something to drink and think this one out.
Alright I've been thinking it out for some time.
Your idea really helped a lot cer1al_k1ller! Much appreciated.
Heres the updated version.
Description
The Company is a Freelancer organization that gathers and provides jobs for Freelancers that have signed up.
For Freelancers that signed up, there are no rules and regulations. There is no tag required as these Freelancers aren't a part of The Company. These Freelancers will receive jobs that The Company have gathered from their contacts. The Company will keep a small amount of the missions money as their own cut. There is only one requirement to sign up, you need to be a Freelancer (ID, IFF is not required)
Employers of The Company do have rules and regulations, and a tag is required ([Company])
These employers of The Company will be busy on looking for jobs, as well as supporting Company's contacts, fighting Company's enemy's, space exploration and trade.
The Company's zone of influence is known to be all over Sirius, however The Company will have a Zone of Focus with wouldn't be that large. The Zone of Focus will be specific sectors that need Company's attention the most.
Once again, all sign ups to become a registered Freelancer or a Company Employer are closed until future notice.
// Please keep giving feedback if you have any. I'll be working hard to get everything done so we can get started here.
' Wrote:There is only one requirement to sign up, you need to be a Freelancer (ID, IFF is not required)
I guess freelance Id and Iff should be required because its the best way to control the reps. Tagged freelancer probably will be neutral to almost all factions. This way its easier to assign someone a job.
Example:
Gateway asks for escorts. If the player doesnt have tag, you dont know if he is friendly or neutral to gateway. If he is freelancer tagged, it should be at least neutral (dont work for every case but its safer then if you accepted everyone - someone correct me if im wrong!).
