A brief summary of the more popular cybernetic procedures that Cryer offer:
Auto-Injector (automatic sub-dermal intravenous delivery system - ASIDS)
Auto injectors are implanted device that dispenses medication or compounds in discrete doses at specific or triggered intervals. Auto-injectors dispense just about any drug or chemical known to humanity, from insulin to diabetics who need regular doses, to psychiatric patients taking medication to ward off depression. Prisons, governments and corporations are also known to use auto-injectors to ensure compliance or maintain control.
Auto-injectors come in two styles, reusable and one-shot. Reusable units feature an external port through which they can be refilled and are usually implanted just below the skin's surface in a location offering convenient access. These models can be connected directly to an IV to provide a constant dose. One-shot units are usually implanted in such a way that they cannot be detected by a visual scan and, as the name implies are good for one use only - commonly used to introduce deadly substances into an unwilling victim.
The triggers include: - a built-in clock or timer, a signal from a linked radio unit, neural-interface or other source, the presence of specified chemicals in the bloodstream, and so on.
Bio-monitor/regulator System
Bio-monitors measure the user's vital signs and body functions through a network of sensors - including heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, temperature, blood-sugar and alcohol level, blood cell counts, and so on. Information from this device can be output through linked devices such as display links or terminal med-kits, or transmitted via a linked radio unit. This unit also regulates any irregularities in the subjects body-chemistry: evening out their vitals for optimum operation. Typically found in soldiers, certain prisoners, and the health concerned Sirius wide.
Bone Lacing (Molecular skeletal reinforcement treatment ' MSRT or SRT)
The cellular structure of the subjects bones are augmented with a molecular lattice chains of reinforcing plastics and metals to improve the bone's integrity and tensile strength. Some prefer a lattice of mono-threads being woven through the Canaliculi, whilst other might prefer a straight alloy coating of the Periosteum.
Lacing makes bones virtually unbreakable by conventional standards; however laced bones can still be broken if great enough deliberate force is applied. Often seen in specialized manual labourers; prolonging their productivity and efficiency.
Bone replacement
In the Case of limb loss a subject may require Complete artificial limb replacement. One of the first steps of which is bone replacement. Generally there are options in such an instance: Reinforced polymer, plastic and metal constructs can be created to mimic the weight of standard human bones upon which the new arm can be built.
Entirely metal 'bones' of varying types can be used granting considerable additional tensile strength to the limb - this option typically requires myomer muscle replacement, as is often the case with such severe trauma, and has reduced mobility compared to a lighter construct.
Muscle Augmentation/Replacement (myomer-fibre integration and threading procedure ' MFIT)
Muscle replacement is the relatively cheap cybernetic augmentation, lacing your existing musculature with myomer fibers tied into your nervous system to enhance your natural strength. Calcium treatments and skeletal reinforcement allow an overall increase in strength. A popular choice with cargo handlers and engineering crews; who prefer Herculean strength over agility.
Boosted Reflexes ('Nerve-dip'. Electro-chemical receptor infusion ' ECRI)
This one-time electrochemical treatment gives the body an increase in its natural reflexes, but renders the recipient's body forevermore incompatible with neural interface devices, such as a neural I/O, or wired reflexes. The treatment is permanent.
Dermal plating (sub-dermal polymer plating insertion ' SPPI)
A reliable if somewhat blunt form of dermal-reinforcement, that affords the subject basic protection from bladed weapons and blunt force trauma. Segmented Pliable polymer-nanite plates are inserted and woven under the skin forming a robust armour. The plating is visibly noticeable, but offers more protection than dermal sheathing and is popular with adventurers operating in the border-worlds and those who expect close quarters trouble.
Sub-Dermal sheathing
A superior version of Dermal Plating that allows the skin to heal more easily and is less noticeable, dermal sheathing combines the latest advances in dermal plating technology with a semi-synthetic skin sheath. The result is smoother and less bulky than standard dermal plating, with greater self-regenerative capability.
Dermal sheathes can be equipped with a technology derived from ruthenium polymers to allow the sheath to shift over a wide range of colours with a small voltaic charge.
If paired up with image scanners, the sheath can be made to function like a chameleon's skin, matching itself to what the scanner views around you.
The more imaging scanners you buy, the better the resolution the sheathe can display and the closer you become to truly being invisible. Needless to say, this imaging technology is tightly restricted and not part of the commercial package.
Artificial Skin
Though Slower to heal or 'regenerate' than natural skin or dermal-sheathing; artificial skin maintains a more realistic and natural appearance than other alternatives, even under close inspection. Usually applied to wealthy victims of severe accidents or those with extreme cosmetic demands; artificial skin is a precious boon to any professional concerned with the aesthetic.
Synthetic fingerprints
Reserved for military operatives, government agents, and those few elite wishing to cast off their old lives: a permanent re-patterning of the patients dermis can be performed - scouring away the old prints. This cosmetic procedure replaces not only the finger prints of the patient, but also the toes, knuckles and any other unique skin formation requested, the replacement patterns are also unique unless specially requested and ordained.
Digital Eye or 'Head-cam'
Discreet and subtle, this product allows the subject greater control over which aspects of the electro-magnetic spectrum they observe. Usually installed upon the loss of the original eye; the new eye fills the ocular cavity, extending a series of systems into the brain. When supplemented with a small storage device and tied in with a neural I/O; subjects can record their observations and feed them back to their superiors. Which is why they are often found in detectives, morticians, reporters, security personnel, and all those that wish to 'capture the moment' throughout Sirius.
Inter-Cranial display
"After machine interface testing in 350 a.s it became apparent that many pilots and operators performed more favourably with a direct link to the systems under their control. One of the wet-ware augmentations employed in this method was the inter-cranial Display system. Removing the distraction for pilots of constantly checking their instruments around the cockpit, this synergy of software and wetware lets the
user monitor any systems linked to it, from the comfort of their own skull."
Neural I/O
Since the first experiments with systems-interfacing 'wet-ware' has come a long way. For those with the credits and the stomach to have such an invasive procedure; there is the neural input/output jack or port. Allowing the user to directly affect and use any device capable of connecting to their I/o port. Sections of the skull are removed along with some brain matter as the neural jack or port is inserted into the brain where the necessary connections are made. The plating is joined to skull sealing the cavity, leaving the interface port as the only visible addition at the base of the skull and top of the neck.
Even though a proficient team of neurosurgeons, bone-men, anaesthesiologists, and cybernetics experts are present during the hours of procedure: it still often leaves the patient unable to perform for months or more due to the large amount of healing and integration that must take place.
Of course, here at Cryer we understand that there's nothing to compensate for blood and bone; which is why, for a substantially higher fee, we can (provided the subject is treated in due time) provide organic replacements in place of the cybernetic modifications mentioned. Whilst an organic replacement might not be as dramatic as an artificial one; they are certainly more natural and sustainable, as well as understatedly stylish.
Also, expected in time for the next Expo: some examples of the series Nexus-7 range in Neo-Humans. Unlike the Series 5's, this new range features the latest in cloning processes: allowing a completely 'natural' product, with zero artificial parts. And zero chance of murdering their owners or causing scandal.
With the latest in Gene sequenced behaviour and chemical conditioning, this series offers a wide-range of personality archetypes and skill-sets; meaning we can provide you with a 'companion' suited to nearly any role.
Being a of a designed nature; these products are extremely resistant to a vast selection of bacteria, and their boosted immunology means that your 'companion' will never get sick, save in a case of a targeted gene-specific attack. And to make sure your new being doesn't start a new empire elsewhere; we've made sure that their 'active time' is restricted to 8 years.
Of course beings such as these don't come cheap; those with less than a few billion spare in their accounts need not entertain the prospect.
Have you been recently dissapointed with a pet purchase ? Is that owl not drawing the attention you desired? Is your cyber-mongoose simply passe ? Does your desk-elephant leave you disinterested and listless?
Then fear not revered buyer: Cryer has the solution to your living accessory problems. Presenting the latest line in genetically designed pets: the G-six line are available from today.
Guaranteed to be 'Hip for at least two summers' The G six line of pets just scream 'come get me!' or someone nearby does. As we know you, the discerning buyer, appreciate quality ~and~ rarity: this line will be limited ten thousand per breed/species. Get yours now, before they sell out !
The 'Febra' (Equus-anura) emerged from the sprawl of experiments in biological camoflage, one of the many 'happy-accidents' that occur around here. This semi-amphibious creature is happy with a small pool of water due its diminutive size, and is a 'must-have' accessory for any retro animal-print outfits. Diet: One cup of insects, one half-cup of tea, and one handful of hay per day.
Originally developed as a 'sniffer-dog' for liberty forces: the 'Noser' (Crocodylidae-anura) features enhanced olfactory senses and so doubles as a warning mechanism for you should anyone try to explode or poison your refined self. "Noseys" are also adept at retrieving Olives that sink to the bottom of your martini, or cherries from a manhattan.
Though loyal and protective creatures, and can become despondent if left alone: a picture of yourself should be placed next to your Noseys living area for comfort and reassurance. Diet: Sashimi, Tempura, Seared bass, foie gras, and some of the larger insects such as the bull-roach or giant scorpion.
Initially bred as a combat support unit, the 'Beefcat' (Bovus-Felis) project soon proved to be ill-suited to that particular task, and was redeveloped for the luxury estates of the discerning pet-owner.
The Beefcat exudes small harmless doses of a pheromone we have dubbed 'x-cute' which promotes a sense of comfort in humans. They are affectionate pets that can be trained to command yet can be left unattended without lapsing into malaise or eating your furniture. Diet:Cabbage, lollipops, caviar.
Also available: latest creation, from our 'canine/feline range' dubbed 'Binky'.
Here you can see one of the staff having an intimate encounter with one! They are that lovable.
As you can see a 'Binky' is the perfect addition to any ensemble; whether DG, XX, or Alice & Olivia. Loveable, huggable and just plain cute; Binkys liven up any room or living space, and being so adaptable means you can feed them pretty much anything. I feed Mine grapes and mai-tai's, but a sundae is fine too.
This latest range have been specifically 'genegineered' by isolating certain genetic predispositions to a given behaviour; to ensure that they are: Loyal, entertaining, intelligent, attentive, and easily transportable.
