I'm quite a new in here but like to stay for a long time.
My idea is to play a Slaver character but I don't know mechanics of such character. Could you help me getting into it.
What slaver usually do? Is it smuggling Slaves or is it hunting Liners all over the Sirius?
Do you think that creating Slaver is boring type of character to play?
If you got any suggestions that could help me to create a nice Slaver character I would be thankful.
on a more serious note, you gather slaves/tourists/crews/other people around sirius to sell them somewhere where slaves are demanded. thats the core of it. anything else you add is good if it fits.
You are correct on both counts regarding what Slavers do. You can both haul slaves (there's several reasonably profitable routes) or you can raid Liners and anyone else carrying human cargo (including pilots!) and rob them of said cargo. You can even rob other Slavers of their Slaves and sell them yourself! I have found this to be rather profitable if you know what routes to stalk.
Either activity can be fun, depending on your personal preferences and the ship(s) you decide to use.
One tiny drawback to the current Slaver ID is that you can't really pirate anyone who isn't carrying human cargo... I like it this way, though, since it prevents the ID from being used by powerpirates. Just to clarify, human cargo includes: Slaves, Spaceship Crew, Prisoners, Passengers, VIP's, tourists, vacationers, pilots of all types, and human organs.
Most (but not all) of the time I spend on the server is on one of my three Slaver ships and it hasn't gotten old for me yet.
Also, there is an official Slaver faction on the server (see my sig) but we're doing some restructuring right now and recruitment is closed for the time being. I would suggest, however, applying to join when we open up again if you want some more specific tips.
Also, one thing I forgot to mention is that the Slaver ID could very easily be used for anti-Slaving activities, since it allows for raiding other slavers and landing at several OSC bases, including Curacao and Baden-Baden (due to their high purchasing price for Human Organs).
