As I noted a day or two ago, I'm testing some new software. Here's the latest changes:
* Chat in system is now local by default. If you want to send chat to the whole system, you need to type /s <your message>
* /showinfo and /si is fixed
* .pull is fixed (admin only)
* Mining drops adjusted so that they're higher as the field gets depleted. The drops previously were lower than I intended as the field depleted. They drop rate is higher now but still less than a field that is fully 'recharged'.
To do next:
* Improvements mining in small mining ships
* Ramming damage algorithm fixes
* Lag shield prevention

Quote:The server is running a experimental version of software at the moment. Although it has been tested there is a good chance that issues will sliip through and be found when many people are using it - which is what happened.
For the next 24 hours, several flserver commands including /local and /invite (/l and /i) will not work. I'm going to sleep now and try to figure out the problem tomorrow.
Mining is re-enabled but is different to how it was:
- Fields have a finite capacity. If too much ore is mined from a field to quickly, the field gets harder to mine.
- Prices and drop rates have been adjusted.
- Ore goes directly into your cargo hold. You have to shoot rocks with mining lasers or nothing will happen.
- This is not the final arrangement but rather only the test phrase.
Ramming: be careful if you use a small ship to ram a large ship. The small ship will take hull damage.

Explain.
From what I see, this is saying that the more people mine (and reduce a field's resources) the more ore they get...?
EDIT: Also, if I were to pirate a miner for ore, can he still put ore in my hold/drop it? And will he drop some when he explodes? >.>
I'm wondering if you can give even smaller mining ships the possibility to mine. I don't like this 'cargo will enter directly in your hold'. Light miners have a light capacity, and they can't drop it each 10 seconds.

I'll rephrase this:
* Small mining ship improvements
to
* Improvements to small mining ships

Er, no. I phrased that badly too.

Nice, was about time. It will probably confuse some new players, but, eh, much preferred to the current solution.
How do you message over system chat now? /s? And how will this work with setmsgs?

If neglected long enough, the drop rate on say... the Cambridge beryllium field would become so ridiculously high that it wouldn't be funny. For a lilbit until it attracted interest that is...
Miner mobility guaranteed much?
Just copypasta cause... seemed like a good idea at the time...
