Gallic Junker Register

I am going to try something different here, so please bear with me. Opening this thread shows you have an interest with Gallic Junkers to which we all know is as varied as they come. But there is certain requirements. These are as you of course well know is that the Gallic junker Id is the Junker Guard ID, which might be still the case in 4.86. And that you must register the character with GRN| for that character to be treated as a Gallic Junker. If you arn't on that list, whilst usinga Gallic Junker ID'd character GRN| and any GRN Independent player is allowed to open fire on you, and treat you also as if you were a Sirian Junker not a Gallic Junker.

So, I would like to ask players with in the community how they feel that the register promotes Gallic Junkers, or discourage them. I would also like to ask players with in the community another question, which is do you feel that the ID shows what the characters allegiance is, falsely or not, and why.

The register is a negative aspect for those who wish to RP a Gallic Junker yet do not participate on the forums. However, the forum is an accepted means of contacting characters, inRP, yet outside of the game, so it is to some degree the player's fault for not utilisting the forums.

I think the Junker Guard ID is an extremely poor representation for Gallic Junkers, particularly since the Junker Guard system is not even in Gallia. When examining this issue in isolation, so as not to include bias for or against other groups which may need the same changes, Gallic Junkers deserve their own ID since they do behave quite differently to Sirian Junkers, and their relationship with Gallia is a vastly different dynamic than that between Sirian House and their Junkers.

Edit: After checking out the register, it seems to me to have a very shaky basis, especially since the Junker Guard ID (which is really a "Gallic Junker" ID) puts a number of limits in place to prevent that activity from occuring.

Yeah, it's a lame system. Discourages game play.

If you have Guard ID then you should have freedom to be able to RP a Gallic Junker.

You shouldn't have to get permission from a completely different faction to make you're RP valid, especially when it's a completely different faction.


Hogisha don't ask KN to be considered "real" Hogisha. Same thing applies here imho.

It's very hard to read the first post of a thread.
All I see here is that you are trying once again to find a way to save your char from the fact it insulted the royalty by trying to justify it with the junker guard ID.

You're far from being the only player with a junker guard ID, and a lot did not have any of the problems you have, simply because they know what they're playing.

Roleplay has consequences. Deal with it.

They are not forced to register. The ID specifies Gallic Junker, it's clear enough. However registering makes you "confirmed" in the eyes of the royalty and will allow you certain privileges, as well as being exempted of having to identify yourself and being scanned each time.

eoJhahiJ, thank you for your post. But what don't you understand about the first post? And secondly I am not looking for what you claim.

This thread is asking players to show there views on the Register and how Gallic Junker Id'd characters should be treated. Nothing more, nothing less. So either please answer on topic, or please go somewhere else to discuss your claims.

Dude, if I want to RP a gallic junker, I just make a ship with Junker Guard ID and go to Gallia and RP my gallic junker. I don't have to register it on the forum or anything.

As I understand the above sentence is a bit ambiguous, so I shall ask you directly, "Do you think you shouldn't have to register your Gallic Junker character to be recognised as being Loyal to the Crown?"

Not a good idea i think.

leonidos why do you think that myself making a thread, where players who have an interest in this can show their own opinions on why they think that the register discourages or encourages Gallic Junker roleplay, as being bad?
