I got my server up and running but when you create a new character you are in a staflier on Pennsylvania (which is fine) with a Freelancer ID, (Which is not fine). I want my new players to start as a civilian. I'm running Discovery 4.86 update 3. I went and changed the mpnewplayer.fl (after making a backup copy for safety, of course) and then I added the following below all the visited data
And there is no \\\'s around the equip = dsy_license_freelancer. That's just to draw your attention there.
It still gives me a freelancer ID even though dsy_license_freelancer translates to the civilian ID. For a freelancer ID you need dsy_license_civilian. I tried even tried putting the dsy_license_civilian in even though I knew that would give me a Freelancer ID. I was right, it did.

Anyone have any ideas what is going on?
The Civilian ID doesn't exist in Discovery anymore. It was replaced by the Freelancer ID in 4.86.
You might be able to change the infocard for the Freelancer ID serverside through the DSAce FLhook plugin to the old Civilian ID infocard, though I've got no knowledge on how to do that myself.
Someone else could hopefully help you on that front. I'm not sure how it works myself, and I can't find any easily understandable information on the topic for you. You're probably best off asking at the Starport rather than here if you want an answer to that (relatively) quickly.
Oh, I can do it. There are actually 2 freelancer ID's. Either the civilian or freelancer will give you a freelancer ID. At least that's the way it seems. I'll have to play around with dsacesrv.cfg. I'll altering one at a time to see which is which.
Thanks for the info. I never would have realized it without going into flinfocardIE. I was using the item viewer that came with DSAccountManager and it shows different texts for the civilian and freelancer ID's. Can't find a civilian ID at all in flinfocardIE.
