Blue message, red message?

What is the game mechanic difference between a blue kill message and a red kill message?

Do I get to go home if I get the red kill message? :neo:

Blue - your current system, red - other systems. You can disable red messages by typing /set diemsg system, enable - /set diemsg all

One other side note - in the event that you happen to be involved in PvP - that is, Player versus Player - combat, and the blue message comes up "Player killed by npc" - that does NOT mean that you get a free pass since the other guy didn't kill you. You're still dead.

What's fun is that due to server lag, sometimes you'll see a death message where you were killed - or you killed - someone on the other side of Sirius. This is well known, and ... under the comment defecation occurs, don't worry about it.
