Good day, Commander Keller.
I'll keep this brief. My name is Joseph Dawson. We probably haven't met in person, but I was working in the LSF back when you were still in charge of the project "Oscar". As you may or may not have heard, the leadership of the Liberty Security Force has changed. I have been appointed as the new Director, and I'm still trying to deal with all the unfinished business left by my predecessor. That's why I'm contacting you.
I am well aware of the incidents that resulted in the current situation. I also know that if that message reaches you, that'll be a sign that the Oscar is still in perfect condition. In fact, I just wanted to inform you that the people, who forced you to act the way you acted, are no longer in charge. Furthermore, I think I have found the way to rectify the current situation. That is, of course, if you're interested.

Yet again we have been contacted, it's seems that everyone within the LSF knows about project Oscar these days. However, it is working in your favour that you choose to use the secure channel reserved for only the director of the LSF, so I find it unlikely that you are lying about your position. However, understanding and repairing the damage? If you understand, then I'm sure you understand what I am implying when I say I have a theory of your actions. The most notable factor in this theory is the fact that, by definition of the term and by Liberty Law, I have stolen a 13 billion credit asset to the Liberty Security Force.
So my question to you, director, is how can you guarantee myself and my crews safety should we return? I do not wish to spend the rest of my natural life in Fairbanks, and I believe that to be the view of the rest of my crew.
Until then we will remain where we are.

Knowing things is my duty, mister Keller. And the reason why you have been contacted is because right now I have full access to the LSF archives and can see the whole picture, so to speak. That, plus something I had to say to you. And by the way, nobody has mentioned anything about "returning", mister Keller. Not yet, anyway. In fact, I had something different in mind. But I digress.
The thing is, according to the Liberty Laws, you are indeed a criminal. Some people would even call what you have done an act of treason. The LSF-internal warrant for your arrest or termination had been issued before I even became the Director. It's a standard procedure for the violations of that kind and scale. As far as the LSF are concerned, the warrant is still in effect. That, however, could change.
You see, no matter how cynical it may sound, the Liberty Laws are of little importance here. I'm a realist and I know that everyone in position of power bends the law on some occasions. In this case, it would be even easier, since the matter never went outside the LSF. And that way it will stay. Makes it easier for me to fix it without getting at odds with anyone else.
Now, you'd probably ask me why I would even do it? Well, the answer is simple here. You, mister Keller, get the job done, no matter the odds. The fact that you managed to slip away with the LSF property proves it. That makes you a potential asset to the force, even despite your unreliability in certain aspects. But still, I would rather have people like you on our side.
That being said... You've shown your ability to work autonomously. And I bet you'd rather do it without the LSF and, potentially, anyone we could get in touch with, chasing you. I also hope you'd rather do it to benefit Liberty than just to survive. Your dossier also said you were a good manager. The relative success of the CRF and Oscar projects proved it. Now, to the offer, or rather, offers I had in mind.
I can currently see three options, mister Keller. The first would be maintaining the status quo. I'd call it "wasted potential". The second option may sound naive: I give you a word that we'll drop all charges against you and your crew, and you all return to Liberty and carry on with your work. The third option is a compromise: again, the charges would be dropped, but this time you and your crew would work for the LSF autonomously in some capacity, reporting to me directly. Thus, you wouldn't have to rely only on my word.
The details could be discussed if you accepted the second or the third option, mister Keller. So, what is it going to be?

As you no doubt know by now, project Oscar was, and still is, a very large and very expensive project. I am not prepared to see the work that has been put towards it go to waste. That is why myself and my crew 'rescued' Oscar, saving AVIOS from deletion. It is not our intention to simply survive and steal the results of years of research and development; and while we would be able to survive for months and even perhaps years, sooner or latter you would catch on and find us. So, I do not wish to delay the inevitable.
I am a man of trust Director, and a man's word is one of the most valuable things he has. When I say I'm going to do something, I put every ounce of being I have into keeping my word, be it meeting someone in time for lunch or ensuring a team is in position to take down a key target.
So Director, should you give me your word that upon our arrival myself and my crew will be able to resume our previous duties, we will return. But should you go back on your word, it will be revealed to the entirety of the LSF and beyond. Now, you may not see that as a threat, but I can assure you that nothing is able to hold together without trust. And as an added measure, should you not uphold your word, I'm sure you will have plenty of time to regret you decision as you explain how several very expensive prototypes were destroyed and how so much damage was able to be caused within the heavily guarded Ellesmere system. AVIOS is a very powerful tool Director, and myself and my crew know how to use it to its fullest potential.
But please do not think I am trying to threatening you Director. All I have done is created a simple trust exersice. I am trusting you with the lives of myself and my crew, and in exchange, you are trusting me not to abuse the responsibilites that I have obtained over my years of service to the Liberty Security Force.
So, should you agree and the warrant for Oscars destruction and for the capture of those aboard be lifted, you will find us docked at Grise Fjord Shipyard within 24 hours of your agreement.

Lifting the warrant is a matter of pressing a button, mister Keller. In fact, I am doing that as we speak. And yes, you have my word that you and your crew will be able to continue your work in the LSF as soon as you return. As I said, otherwise it'd be wasted potential. Just remember that every paper you signed when joining the LSF will be in effect again as soon as the Oscar docks at Grise Fjord.
You've set the deadline yourself, mister Keller. If you and your crew return within 24 hours, I'll count that as acceptance of my word and offer. Otherwise I'll have to resume the status quo.

I must say I am quite pleased Director, you seem to have indeed kept your word, with no one attempting to detain us and from all accounts it's business as usual at Grise Fjord.
However, I would like to discuses with you the events that recently unfolded and what projects we will be assigned to as project Oscar is by all accounts complete. I will leave this channel open if you wish to reply, otherwise you can contact me via the standard communication channels on board LSF stations.
I look forward to seeing you in person Director.

Welcome back, Commander Keller. Judging by the attached automated report, everything is fine with the ship. You've proven to be a perfect manager, as your dossier stated. And we do have some projects which could use managing. But since you also wanted to discuss the recent events, I guess we'd better talk in private. You'll receive the necessary instructions soon, Commander. As for this channel, it may still find its use later.
