I didn't find a feedback thread in the faction channel, so I am making one.
It's time to give some feedback because I am really discontent with how the GMG handled the [V]- and Valkyrie base roleplay. I am doing that instead of the player that was leading the project because he is too nice a guy to do this. But I feel like it should be said and a former GMG leader told me to voice it on forums as there has not been any leadership response to my writing in the Skype channels.
What happened?
GMG found the Valkyrie base and rp was initiated.
A hostile approach to the base was expected, even though the degree of hostility was a little surprising. (it is a Zoner installation, civilian Zoner backgrund and GMG and Zoners are nowhere hostile).
GMG installs martial law in S13, forcing everybody into the lanes. Understandable, yet in my opinion a little too aggressive. But in general still understandable.
Oorp hints show that GMG is overreacting and would become aggressive on factions that interacted with [V] in the past. So the RP between official factions and [V] is destroyed, the supplying of the base is forced to be done by nameless, random indies. Before the GMG step, it was done completely by official faction ships.
[V] makes offers, starts rp and nothing happens any more.
Skype PMs on October 11 point out the problem of GMG cutting down the rp of [V] by not answering. "anxious, are they?" is the response in Skype.
Nothing.
More attempts to initiate oorp contacts by different people. Nothing.
This "strategy" continued until one of the lead players of the project left Disco and the main player sold the base a few days ago.
I blame the GMG for:
Destroying the roleplay of the Valkyrie Zoner base and
destroying the roleplay of the [V] Zoner group
by ignoring their valid rp (it was no lolwut base)
and starving their activity to death
despite having been told about the consequences of not responsing (Oct, 11th)
It's theyr choise, to abyde by theyr role play or to just ignore it simply as that... If i was on theyr place and i simply didn't like the foreign base in our space i would do the same thing. Beside why the hell thoze zoners didn't asked for permision from GMG's before they even made the base ?!
It is common courtesy in a roleplay game to respond to roleplay, at least if it is not totally lolwut. Actually I regard it as a responsibility of official factions to answer to rp, whether they love the topic or not.
The rp was not lolwut. Therefore ignoring until it goes away is not a valid option.

Even more so when you initiate it.
Yes, I was one of those helping to build the base.
GMG response to an allied faction was too harsh. In response to GMG RP of system lockdown, [V] replied with RP and got ignored. This is the response I'd expect from an unfriendly or hostile faction, not one that is supposedly allied.
Or, could it be that you only treat official factions as serious players and all indies and unofficial factions as lolwuts?
Starsunder.. Please be nice and remove your IMG remark.
you say that GMG ignore you. but well having this as a signature.. it provokes more then something else.
About the GMG. Note that they have like everyone a personal life. You can bump comm topics. As it would be more showable in the forums. Have it also sometimes that i miss stuff wich i have to respond on. But its in our human nature to not be perfect. And well if you make a base in a system. Know that GMG in this case wich are the owners may decide to destroy it or whatever. I know its not fun all that hard work, but well before making a base its just almost a MUST to contact in RP the factions involved.

Starsunder is one of IMG's most active members, I believe he's allowed to make a joke.
I've not been involved other than jumping with [V] a few times and even have been the one to drag out roleplay unintentionally with delays. However, if you've been asking people on Skype and still no real answer in a quick ooRP way, that does suggest a bit more...

What IMG remark?

Something wrong with my signature? I don't get it.
Anyway, the point I'm trying to put across is, regardless of whether or not permission was asked or given, GMG and Zoners are Allied. The way GMG handled this issue was NOT how one expects allies to treat each other in such a situation, both initially as well as follow-up RP (or lack thereof).
