I want to host a server for some friends, too, and I'm able to get start it up fine with FLServer. However, it takes a few refreshing of the server list, or luck, for the IP to come up and allow me to join. It won't allow me to join if it's the LAN address, or what I assume is the LAN address. Often times my server shows up as something like fe200::bg2777::etc. The IP that does come up, the one I'm able to connect to, is also my router's IP.
Minor concerns, though, as I'm still able to join it and play on it. I'm just curious as to why I'm experiencing skipping when I'm in a populated area. When I fly out from the starting planet, there are a lot of dreadnoughts and cruisers patrolling, and the game constantly skips every few seconds. It's not a framerate issue, either. Any idea on that? Such skipping occurs only when I'm playing on my own server.
From what I see on this site it lets you 'workaround' the shut down global list and lets you add a server. However I have yet to test it myself.
Hope it helps.

What do you mean ? I'm a rocker not a mod. Damn mods cruisin' on their pimped up lambrettas, swerving all over the street. Give me a curvy highway, with the throttle fully twisted anytime, thank you very much.
