Maybe about a year ago disco was awesome but atm its a wreck and thats how imma see it till its been cleaned up :/ pirateing and flying around used to be fun when people actually RPed like the LN and LNS but now its nothing but lolwuts, pew pew, wars that is only pew and makes no sense, and then theres the ass holes fucking everything else up
When i joined disco like a year ago i could fly around and RP with anyone but now RP= pew on sight noone has time for RP
Its the sad truth about disco atm i dont like saying it but its true
I hope disco gets back on its feet some time soon though

You make me laugh. And you're right . People forgot the beauty of RP and all they want is pew pew
Which is why i get mad at people when they say discos has great RP when they dont even do it anymore this is probily why disco is losing so many players i know lots of people who thats gave up on disco completly and due to the big wreck its become which is sad
Maybe some day disco will pull it back together who knows

Oh also, I really doubt it will be like Freelancer (Sandbox and what not) and you'll likely just be shooting other fighters in a deathmatch type scenario.
Exactly..
@Alphablood1: yes, people used to RP more, and better... But I don't remember that the LNS were nearly at average RP skills.
Other thing, the fact of Merc work has taken out everything is the reason we have lost the RP charm. Mercs only care about pewing, because there's no time for Rp. And now, you can barely get pirated outside California.
Also, people got freaking bored of waiting for .87, because they had to RP about the same stuff for more than ...I don't know, since .86 came out!
On topic, I never have played EvE online or any other game that you need to pay monthly just to get online.
As for the condition of RP in Disco. I think that part of the problem is that players want the things they want and they want them now. Take Base building, so many bases are OORP built. As in, how does a group far away from Cryocubes and in a faction that has no contact with the Gallia get Cryocubes for a Base build? Easy, make a throw away character/ship and haul haul haul. No rp with Gallic Smugglers, no set up of diplomacy to get the Cubes, No rp as to how you got the JumpCoordinates to get the Cubes. It turned into a race where all that matered was how fast somthing gets built, and the background RP for it is non existant. Part of the problem, I think comes from the large number of players that do not have a firm grip on the English language. Part of the problem is people do not know HOW to RolePlay, with most people just doing the necessary motions to pewpew and not get sanctioned. The quality of RP is a reflection of the players playing, and not the game itself.
Yeah, I also have same attitude, to games where you need to pay for win, or even pay to play. Plus, as I know, in EVE, you controling your char as in RTS right? RMB click, and he moves into that location.

Mod is aimed for new players, rather for vets, who can make fun RPing, without single shot. But, part of new players will say: Oh, bullcrap, and left game, part will be averange lolwuts, who will left Disco, as soon their cruiser will be bastiled and so on, and only few of them, would become Ok.

The Mod is NOT aimed for new players....is that what you meant?
Maybe not players comming over from things like CounterStrike or WoT or any other FPS. But players that come over from other Role Play games, surely get the hang of the DiscoveryFreelancer quicker than if they had never been exposed to Role Play games.
Yes there are rules on the server that need to be followed. Some rules are just basic common sense and courtesy. Other rules are set up to make sure a certain amount of Role Play is achieved before bullets fly.
As a player, you can follow all the rules and still not need to Role Play if you don´t want to.
Let say...an LPI officer stops a Luxury Liner carrying nuclear devices. LPI says "ah...sir, your ship is not rated to carry hazardous materials inside Liberty borders..."
and before you get another line of Role Play in, the response from the LuxLiner is
"You police...you no stop me....I nothing illegal."
and...his statement is true, he is within the rules, but I am also within the proper RolePLay of a corrupt LPI officer looking for any reason to lay down a fine.
People play the Rules more than they play the Role. Its a game, play the role and abide by the rules.
