When you guys read a rule violation report, do you check to see whether the violation is still being violated? For instance, if someone is reported for an OORP setup, when you enter IFSO to sanction said character, do you check to see if their setup is still OORP?
This is asked mainly for hypothetical situations where say, one person passes someone without an ID. He screenshots the violation and reports it. While he's doing that though, another person PMs the said violator and explains to him the ID rule. The person goes and buys an ID.
This is just my common sense (and me closing the last 160 posts to 2k:crazy:), but I'd say yes. I seem to recall people being sanctioned for something (like F1ing), then the admins tacked on "Oh, and while I was f1ning you, I noticed your ooRP setup and "fixed" it - by replacing them with Starbeams", so I'd figure its a two-way street.
I normally don't. If they went and got the ID after being told by players in game, me fining him is not going to help matters, only hurt them. If the violator repeatedly get reported then more action is taken.
Well, When someone gets reported for OORP weps, the admin check the character for the said weps to remove them,,, If they're ain't there,,,what's the point of fining the guy?
'I'm fining you for not having the OORP guns that you've replaced by more in-RP guns' see, doesn't make any sense.
Same goes for OORP ID/Ship/Chat, if the guy apologize and fix the problem, I don't see the point of reporting him
'I fine you for not having the outcast tag on your corsair that you have changed to corsair tag'

Swearing, insulting, cheating and F1(depends) are a different case IMO
