My friend has lived a hard life and wants a tattoo saying "You don't know what strength is, until being strong is your only choice" but I told her that she should swap choice with option.
But now I'm thinking if there are any better strength-related quotes suitable for a tattoo (so not hugely lengthy). Any suggestions guys and gals?
First tell him to think it over, really. But the choice is up to him. Getting a tattoo is something really personal what's gonna be the part of your life from the moment you get it. The quote itself isn't bad, and if it's made by the right way it can be really nice looking. But everything depends where he wants to put that tattoo. It can look actually really good i think if it's not just one long line. Maybe something like this:
You don't know what strength is,
until being strong is your only choice.
You don't know what strength is,
until being strong is your only option.

Good advise. I ended up with a tattoo 'Keep Disco Evil' (No, I'm not kidding. I blame UN| for that.) after jumping into it. While its not regretted, it will probably end up getting covered at some point.
At the end of the day though, it is your friends tattoo. She will have to live with it and because of that let her decide what it says. If she wants to have choice instead of option, then let her have choice instead of option.
Don't need to have quotes, pictures can work well too if they have some meaning. I have 3 little birds tattoo'd on my chest to remind to don't worry 'bout a thing, 'Cause every little thing gonna be all right (Bob Marley, 3 little birds song) I thought it looked better then text.
Google is a good idea, spend some time looking around. Pinterest is another good one for ideas, and deviantart can be pretty good too. No one here can make up your friends mind for her.
You never fully regret tattoos because you never fully change over the years and that thing on your skin, as stupid as it may seem today, didn't seem so stupid to your past self, so it still makes sense, even if deep down.
I'll drop my own little something, which I'll never regret. On my chest till death:
Excuse the gravedig, bumped on this and just had to give my two cents.
I got a Phoenix tattoo (No not the faction) on my shoulder which has a huge meaning/significance to me. My opinion is that a tattoo should always have deep meaning to you, because at the end of the day, it is on you forever (Unless you get something to cover it up)
I have a tattoo too now. Made it a month ago.
And despite what people told to me - thoguh most said its cool and approved that I made exactly that one - I heavilly doubt I will regret for making it. It reminds me who I am and what I believe in, what I see the better world should be like and a faith in better future. (though I believe not everyone would agree with me on it for many reason, which Im sure I will find as biased and based on hate to the person/nation/culture I represent with this tattoo)
It is a picture, not a snetence however. I dont approve sentence tattoos, unless a person made it up himself/herself. It doesnt shows what tattoo supposed to - individuality and spirit. Simply scarving a words spoken by famous person is barely logical unless you 101% thought it up.
And no sorry, I wont show it here just yet. Its not finished.
